Greater Accra HUM Sectors Organise Home Missions Conference

The Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of the Greater Accra Region on Saturday, May 16, 2026, organised a Home Missions Conference at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Tesano, aimed at empowering all PIWCs in the region to pursue missions among expatriates living in Ghana.

The conference brought together church leaders, ministers, and members to discuss practical strategies for reaching expatriate communities as part of fulfilling the Great Commission.

Delivering the first presentation, Apostle Benjamin Ofei-Badu, National Coordinator for Home and Urban Missions, spoke on the need for the church to embark on Home Missions. Referencing scriptures including Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 3:10, and 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, he explained that while missionary agencies and churches traditionally moved from their home nations to foreign lands to spread the Gospel, many nations have now come into other nations through migration.

According to him, this changing trend calls for churches and mission agencies to strategically position themselves to reach expatriates within their host nations.

Apostle Ofei-Badu cited biblical examples of Jesus ministering across cultural boundaries, including His encounter with the centurion and the Samaritan woman, as well as Philip’s encounter with the Ethiopian eunuch. He also referenced a contemporary example involving former Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, who shared the Gospel with James Raj.

Pastor Solomon Anderson, Ashaiman Sector HUM Coordinator, in his presentation on “Understanding Home Missions,” explained the concept of expatriates and shared data on the number of expatriates living in Ghana. He outlined practical approaches to reaching them, including contextual missions, language studies, and intentional engagement strategies.

Speaking on the topic “Winning the Expatriates,” Apostle Kingsley Addai, Resident Minister for PIWC-Accra, used the Chinese community as a case study to illustrate practical evangelism approaches. He highlighted relationship-building, need-based support, hospitality, and language learning as effective tools for ministering to expatriates.

The conference also featured group discussions, allowing participants to deliberate on the various topics presented. An open forum session was later held to provide participants with the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on issues relating to home missions and expatriate outreach.

The event ended successfully with participants expressing appreciation for the insights shared and the renewed focus on missions among expatriate communities.

Men Require Intentional Support – PEMEM Director

The Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, has stressed the need to give special attention to men in society and the family system.

According to him, much attention is often given to raising children and the youth to become responsible adults in the future, while little attention is paid to men, who serve as the head of the family.

He further stressed that men require intentional support and development to become emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually sound and stable, enabling them to make wise decisions that positively impact their families and society.

Apostle Anane Denteh said this during a seminar organised by the Men’s Ministry of Mampong Area at the Tunsuom Central Auditorium, Ashanti Mampong, on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The seminar formed part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen and equip men to effectively play their God given roles in the family, church, and society.

The PEMEM Director, who was the guest speaker, spoke on the topic: “Godly Men to Transform Society.”

The seminar was well attended by all pastors and their wives, PEMEM Executive Committee members at every level, all Faithful Giants Executive Committee members at all levels, all Presiding Elders, as well as men and women from across the Area.

Also present were Pastor Philip Ackumey (NEC member– PEMEM), and Mampong Area Head, Pastor Kojo Anomah, and his wife.

The seminar was impactful and served as a strong call for men to rise as godly leaders and agents of transformation in society.

COP Launches Nationwide Digital Systems Training For Ministers, Staff web.jpg

COP Launches Nationwide Digital Systems Training For Ministers, Staff

The Church of Pentecost has begun a nationwide training programme aimed at equipping ministers and administrative staff with the skills needed to effectively operate the church’s key digital platforms.

The initiative focuses on three major systems: PentERP, the church’s accounting and financial management platform; PentChMS, the Church Management System used for reporting and membership data management; and PentHR, the human resource and staff appraisal system. The training forms part of the church’s broader effort to strengthen administrative efficiency, accountability, and data management across all levels of the organisation.

To ensure accessibility and wider participation, the programme is being conducted at Area level, allowing ministers and staff to receive practical instruction within their operational zones instead of travelling to a central location. Each session begins with a special training day for Area Heads at the regional level before extending to District clerks, Area accountants, executive assistants, and other officers responsible for administration and reporting.

Speaking on the importance of the programme, Pastor Paul Odai Laryea, IT Manager at the General Headquarters and coordinator of the initiative, stressed that technology has become essential to effective church administration.

“No organisation, including the church, can afford to ignore the direction technology is moving,” he stated, adding, “These systems exist to reduce the burden of administration, improve accountability, and free ministers to focus on ministry.”

The training has already received positive feedback from participants. Pastor Stephen Agyei of the Kintampo Area shared that financial administration had previously been difficult for him due to his lack of accounting background. However, the introduction of PentERP and the practical training sessions have significantly improved his confidence in handling church finances.

Another minister who attended an earlier session admitted he initially assumed the system would be overly technical but later discovered it was user-friendly and easy to understand because of the practical teaching approach.

The Northern and Brong Ahafo Regions have already completed their training sessions, while Ashanti, Western, Central, Volta, Eastern, and Greater Accra Regions are expected to follow in the coming weeks as the nationwide rollout continues.

The Axim Area of The Church of Pentecost has commissioned and handed over a fully furnished VIP ward to the Axim Government Hospital, in a demonstration of its commitment to community transformation and healthcare support.

The facility, named the Pentecost Ward, was solely funded and constructed by the Axim Area of the Church, led by Apostle Daniel Mireku Gyamera, at the cost of GH₵193,413.00.

The commissioning ceremony took place on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the premises of the hospital.

Speaking on the theme, “Building the Kingdom Through an Unleashed Faith,” Apostle Daniel Mireku Gyamera urged Christians to demonstrate active faith that brings transformation to society.

Drawing from James 2:14–24, he distinguished between “dead faith,” which is inactive and unproductive, and “active faith,” which produces tangible impact in communities. He further referenced Acts 10:38, emphasising that the impact of true faith must be visible, felt, and experienced in people’s lives.

Apostle Gyamera expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and appealed for proper maintenance to ensure long-term benefit of the facility to patients.

The Western Regional Health Director, Dr Marian Okoh-Owusu, expressed deep appreciation to The Church of Pentecost for the intervention, noting that the facility brings dignity to both patients and health workers. She also encouraged the public to verify health-related information before dissemination to uphold professional ethics and confidentiality.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Nzema East, Hon. Herbert Kuah Dickson, commended the Church for the initiative and urged the hospital authorities to ensure proper maintenance and effective use of the facility.

Representing traditional authorities, Abusuapanin Kyi Sam of Upper Axim commended the Church’s contribution to development and called for unity among stakeholders, while also raising concerns about staffing and maintenance of the facility.

General Secretary Dedicates Suhum New Town Salem Assembly Church Building web

General Secretary Dedicates Suhum New Town Salem Assembly Church Building

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has dedicated the newly constructed Salem Assembly church building in the Suhum New Town District of the Suhum Area.

The dedication ceremony which was held on Friday, May 22, 2026, marked a significant milestone for the assembly, bringing together ministers, church leaders, members, and invited guests to celebrate the completion of the modern worship facility.

Constructed at an estimated cost of GH¢1.64 million, the church building was completed through the collective sacrifices and contributions of members, support from the district and area leadership, as well as grants from the Headquarters of The Church of Pentecost.

The Salem Assembly traces its roots to the early 1990s when the fellowship started under modest conditions before eventually securing land for a permanent place of worship. Following the creation of the Suhum New Town District in 2002, efforts were intensified toward constructing a befitting church auditorium for the growing congregation.

Construction of the current edifice officially commenced after the foundation stone was laid on August 5, 2011. Over the years, successive pastors, presiding elders, and members played vital roles in ensuring the successful completion of the project.

The dedication service featured prayers, thanksgiving, scripture readings, and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by the wife of the General Secretary, Mrs Juliana Korkor Obuobi, and the wife of the Suhum Area Head, Mrs Roberta Aseyero, before the official dedication of the building by the General Secretary.

Addressing the congregation, Apostle Obuobi commended the members of the Salem Assembly and the Suhum New Town District for their commitment, sacrifice, and dedication to the work of God. He urged the church to complement the beautiful physical structure with spiritual growth, holiness, and unwavering commitment to the mission of the church.

The Suhum Area Head, Apostle Patrick Aseyero, as well as the Nsawam Area Head, Apostle Francis Yaw Adu, were among the senior ministers who graced the occasion.

The leadership of the assembly also expressed appreciation to the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, the Area leadership, and all individuals who contributed to the successful completion of the project.

The newly dedicated church building is expected to enhance worship activities and support the continuous growth of the church in the area.

True Transformation Begins From Within web.jpg

True Transformation Begins From Within – Her Honour Deaconess Bempong

Circuit Court Judge and Prison Ministry Advocate, Her Honour Deaconess Sarah Nkansah Bempong, has called on believers to pursue deeper fellowship with the Holy Spirit, stressing that lasting transformation begins from within through the power of the gospel.

Speaking on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Prison Associates’ Conference (PRISACON), at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa-Yesukrom, on the topic, “The Transforming Power of the Gospel and the Infilling of the Holy Ghost,” she explained that the gospel of Jesus Christ remains the power of God that brings salvation and complete transformation to all who believe.

According to her, the transformation produced by the gospel begins first in the unseen realm before it manifests outwardly in a person’s life and character.

“The gospel is the power of God that brings salvation to all who believe,” she stated.

Drawing from Ephesians 2:6, she noted that humanity once fell from a glorious position through sin, but the gospel restores believers and transfers them from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.

She further explained that the transforming work of Christ extends beyond salvation to the renewal of personality, character, and conduct.

Referring to 1 Corinthians 6:19, Deaconess Nkansah Bempong stressed that God gave believers the Holy Spirit to dwell within them so that inward transformation would be reflected outwardly in their lives.

“God brought His Holy Spirit to live within us so that something on your inside will work on your outside,” she explained.

She stated that believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit become more sensitive to the voice and promptings of God, especially in moments of temptation and spiritual conflict.

According to her, the absence of the Holy Spirit’s influence often results in continuous warfare between the desires of the flesh and those of the Spirit.

She therefore encouraged participants to intentionally seek the infilling of the Holy Spirit through prayer, fasting, and consistent study of the Word of God.

“The prayer that produces the infilling of the Holy Ghost is a tarrying prayer,” she emphasised.

Deaconess Nkansah Bempong also urged participants to depend on Christ for strength to resist corruption, bribery, and sinful lifestyles, stressing that genuine encounters with God deepen one’s prayer life and spiritual discipline.

She concluded by encouraging prison associates to remain committed to spiritual growth and intimacy with God, noting that lasting transformation is sustained through continuous fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Retirees Encouraged To Prepare Wisely For Life After Active Service web

Retirees Encouraged To Prepare Wisely For Life After Active Service

A retired minister of The Church of Pentecost, Prophet Jonathan Edmund Ameyaw, has encouraged ministers and workers approaching retirement to prepare intentionally for life after active service and embrace the transition with wisdom, patience, and faith in God.

Speaking at the 2026 Seminar for Ministers and Wives Retiring this year held at the Pentecost Pension House at Gbawe in Accra on May 22, 2026, he described retirement as an important phase of life that requires adjustment, planning, and a continued commitment to serving God and society.

Using the analogy of life as a game played in two halves, Prophet Ameyaw noted that even if one struggles in the first half, there is still an opportunity to finish well in the second half. According to him, the discipline, sacrifices, and good foundations laid during active service can sustain individuals in retirement.

He explained that a retiree is someone who has stopped active employment due to age, indicating that although retirement may come with the loss of certain privileges and responsibilities, God remains faithful to care for His people.

Touching on accommodation, he stated that ministers and workers living in mission houses would eventually transition to their personal homes after retirement. He therefore advised them to begin preparations early and plan adequately for the transition.

He further urged soon-to-be retirees to consciously adjust from positions of leadership and the privileges associated with active service. Patience, humility, and understanding, he said, are essential virtues needed to navigate retirement successfully.

Prophet Ameyaw stressed that retirement does not mean becoming less resourceful or irrelevant. He encouraged participants to remain committed to the Church’s “Possessing the Nations” agenda by continuing to positively impact their communities through prayer, counsel, service, and godly living.
