Kotobabi District Takes The Gospel To The Streets

As part of The Church of Pentecost’s Gospel Sunday initiative, the Kotobabi District in La Area, Accra, held an evangelistic outreach dubbed ‘Jesus to the Street’ on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

The event served as a living expression of Christ’s love and compassion, with a focus on reaching individuals in the streets, especially those often overlooked or marginalised. The goal was to take the gospel beyond the church walls and make the name of Jesus known throughout the community.

The well organised outreached, led by the District Minister, Pastor Samuel Yeboah Asare, and his wife, Eunice, was fully participated by the presiding elders, ministry leaders and members of the church. Church members mobilised across key areas including Kotobabi Ebony, Dzowulu, and the Pig Farm market, engaging people with the life-changing message of salvation.

Participants shared gospel tracts and Christian literature with individuals from diverse religious backgrounds, delivering the good news with sincerity and purpose. The event was both a spiritual mission and a humanitarian act, reinforcing the church’s commitment to soul-winning and community transformation.

‘Jesus to the Street’ is one of several community-centred initiatives by the Kotobabi District, designed to reflect Christ’s heart for the lost and spark revival through the power of the Gospel.

DIGITAL EDUCATION A UNIVERSAL RIGHT – PASTOR DR. KLUTSE TELLS WORLD LEADERS web

Make Digital Education A Universal Right – Ps. Dr. Klutse Tells World Leaders

The Director of the Pent Media Centre, Pastor Dr. Felix Dela Klutse, has called on world leaders to recognise digital education as a universal human right, stressing that internet access can no longer be treated as a luxury but a necessity in today’s world.

Speaking at the recently-held United Nations Youth Impacts Conference in New York under the theme “Ensuring Equitable Access to Quality Education in the Digital Era,” Dr. Klutse delivered an impassioned address that highlighted the growing digital divide and its impact on education globally.

His presentation focused on the urgent need for global collaboration to close the gap and ensure equitable access to digital learning for all, regardless of geography or circumstance.

“Education is not a privilege. It is a right,” he stated firmly, pointing out that while digital tools have revolutionised education in many parts of the world, they have also deepened inequalities where access to internet, devices, and trained teachers is still lacking.

Dr. Klutse noted that more than 2.6 billion people remain offline, most of them in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Even in places where there is connectivity, high costs, poor infrastructure, and shared devices make meaningful online learning difficult—especially for children in low-income and rural communities.

He painted a stark picture of digital exclusion, revealing that over 770 million people still live without reliable electricity, and millions of children are forced to share one phone among several siblings or travel long distances just to connect to Wi-Fi.

Dr. Klutse also drew attention to the plight of over 43 million displaced children worldwide—many living in refugee camps or conflict zones—who lack access to both formal and digital education. Using examples from Ukraine, Gaza, and Afghanistan, he stressed the importance of maintaining education during wars and humanitarian emergencies.

He pointed out that girls are particularly disadvantaged in many regions, either due to cultural barriers, safety concerns, or outright bans—such as those currently enforced in Afghanistan. He also highlighted the absence of inclusive content for non-English speakers and children with disabilities, calling for a greater push towards localised and accessible educational materials.

Despite these challenges, Dr. Klutse praised innovative initiatives like Kenya’s solar-powered offline learning systems, which are helping underserved communities stay connected to education. He also cited India’s government-led Diksha platform, acknowledging its potential while pointing out its limited reach in rural areas.

He commended ongoing efforts by the UN, including Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), UNESCO’s Global Education Coalition, and the GIGA Project by UNICEF and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which aims to connect every school to the internet by 2030. However, he urged that these efforts must be scaled up with urgency.

Dr. Klutse ended his address with a passionate appeal to world leaders, saying: “If we truly believe that education is a right, then we must act like it. The internet is no longer a luxury—it is a lifeline. Let us ensure that no child, no matter where they live, is left behind in this digital era.”

The United Nations General Assembly, made up of all 193 member states, remains the central platform for addressing global issues like education, peace, development, and human rights. The Youth Impacts Conference, held from June 10 to 20, 2025, at Hofstra University in New York, brought together more than 100 university students, educators, policymakers, and professionals from around the world.

With its diverse and inclusive nature, the conference gave voice to perspectives from both developed and developing nations, reinforcing a shared global resolve: to build a future where every child has access to quality education in a digitally connected world.

Koforidua Area Youth Ministry Storms Mangoase With Evangelism Takeover, Wins 78 Souls, Plants Two New Local Assemblies web

Koforidua Area Youth Ministry Storms Mangoase With Evangelism Takeover, Wins 78 Souls, Plants Two New Local Assemblies

The Koforidua Area Youth Ministry of The Church of Pentecost recently embarked on a Evangelism Takeover in Mangoase, resulting in a remarkable harvest of 78 souls and the establishment of two new local assemblies.

The outreach, held from May 23-25, 2025, mobilised over 50 passionate and Spirit-filled young men and women who took to the streets, homes, and villages of Blagodzi and Sumaila with the gospel of Christ. The team engaged in dawn broadcasting, house-to-house evangelism, video rallies, and evening crusades, with the tangible power of God evident throughout the communities.

The initiative aligns with the Youth Ministry’s vision: ‘Grounded in Christ, reaching everyone, and taking over everywhere for Jesus.’ Under this mandate, the Pentecost Young Missionaries (PYM) programme has been realigned to operate at both Area and District levels, empowering youth to win souls and disciple them for Christ.

By the end of the outreach, 78 souls, comprising 50 adults and 28 children, had surrendered their lives to Christ. Many underwent water baptism, while others received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In response to the overwhelming acceptance of the gospel, two new assemblies were planted in Blagodzi and Sumaila, both suburbs of Mangoase. The two assemblies will be nurtured by the Mangoase District, with support from the Area Youth Ministry.

A particularly awe-inspiring moment occurred during the Sunday service at Sumaila. A young man, seated quietly among the congregation, experienced a supernatural encounter. He testified to hearing a mysterious wind whispering an unfamiliar song into his ears, filling him with awe and conviction. He later approached one of the missionaries and confessed that he had previously possessed fetish items such as charms believed to offer protection from physical harm. Moved by the Spirit of God, he surrendered these items, declaring, ‘I do not want them anymore because of Jesus.’ The items were burned, and the young man received deliverance and water baptism. This powerful testimony serves as a reminder that Jesus saves, delivers, and reveals His glory.

Pastor Michael Akrobettoe, Koforidua Area Youth Leader, thanked God for the success of the outreach, saying, ‘This is what we are called to do — to go, preach, and disciple. God has truly visited Mangoase through His youthful army.’

Upon receiving the report, Apostle Mike Kwame Etrue, Koforidua Area Head, commended the Youth Ministry for their zeal and dedication to the Great Commission. He encouraged the team to continue supporting the newly planted churches until they are fully established in the Lord.

The Mangoase Evangelism Takeover stands as a testament to the transformative power of mobilising young people for missions.

The campaign featured dawn broadcasting, street evangelism, house-to-house witnessing, and evening crusades aimed at sharing the gospel and ministering to communities.

Local church members provided interpretation in Krobo to ensure effective communication, while district pastors and members supported the efforts with prayer and hospitality.

According to the PENSA-PU Editorial Board, the outreach yielded 314 first-time converts, 164 rededicated their lives to Christ, and 147 children made confessions of faith. Additionally, 63 individuals underwent water baptism and 49 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Yesukrom Worship Centre Celebrates Cultural Heritage with Traditional Week

The Yesukrom Worship Centre in the Kasoa Area of The Church of Pentecost has successfully held its maiden Traditional Week celebration, a week-long event that showcased Ghana’s rich cultural heritage through music, dance, food, and community dialogue.

The celebration, which ran from Tuesday, June 17 to Sunday, June 22, 2025, attracted church members, traditional authorities, community leaders, and residents from surrounding areas. The initiative aimed to promote unity in diversity and educate the youth on the significance of Ghanaian traditions within a Christian context.

The event opened on Tuesday with an exhortation by Pastor Prince Odoom, the Resident Minister of Yesukrom Worship Centre and Centre Manager of the Pentecost Convention Centre. He urged Christians to set aside their differences and embrace one another regardless of their cultural backgrounds.

In her presentation, Deaconess. Nana Yaa Boamah II, Paramount Queen Mother of the Breman Traditional Council and District Chieftaincy Coordinator, explained the rationale behind the celebration, stressing the importance of aligning cultural identity with Christian values.

Educational sessions held on Wednesday and Thursday featured various ethnic groups recounting the origins and meanings of their customs and traditions. The momentum intensified on Friday with spirited music and dance competitions, culminating in a Saturday food fair that featured delicacies from diverse Ghanaian tribes including the Fantes, Ashantis, Akuapims, Konkombas, Bonos, Dagatis, Akyems, Nzemas, Sefwis, Ewes, Gas, Ahantas, and others.

The week-long celebration was climaxed on Sunday with a special thanksgiving service. Delivering the sermon, Pastor Odoom encouraged believers to embrace their cultural uniqueness while upholding their Christian identity.

“Culture is the mix of influences that shape a person—especially when their upbringing, parental background, and current environment differ,” he stated. “A Christian raised among various cultures can reflect God’s love across tribal and ethnic boundaries.”

He emphasised that in multicultural worship settings like Yesukrom Worship Centre, believers from various ethnic backgrounds unite under one purpose—to glorify Christ.

“Being united in cultural diversity to represent Christ means we celebrate our differences while genuinely expressing His love to the world,” Pastor Odoom noted.

Key themes from his message included: Unity in Diversity: Emphasising collective harmony across different cultural groups, Christ-Centered Expression: Using culture to reflect and communicate the love of Christ, and Community Engagement: Strengthening bonds through mutual respect and shared worship.
