The Madina Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has held an appreciation service to honour two outgoing executives for their dedicated service to the ministry from 2022 to 2026.
The ceremony, held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the New Sychar Auditorium at Madina-Obgojo, also saw the induction of new leadership for the Area Women’s Ministry.
The outgoing executives are Deaconess Dr. Gifty Gyamaah Nyante, immediate past Area Women’s Ministry Leader, and Deaconess Alice Gyedu, former Assistant Area Women’s Ministry Leader.
Taking over from them are Deaconess Juliet Torsu and Deaconess Esther Asantewaa Tetteh, who were inducted as the new Area Women’s Ministry Leader and Assistant Area Women’s Ministry Leader respectively.
Prior to their new appointments, Deaconess Torsu served as the District Women’s Ministry Leader for the La Nkwantanang District, while Deaconess Tetteh served as the District Women’s Ministry Leader for the Egyir Paintsil Memorial Worship Centre (EPMWC), Madina.
Speaking on the theme, “Weariness in Doing Good,” Apostle Dr. D. K. Noble-Atsu (Rtd.) urged Christian leaders not to grow weary in the discharge of their responsibilities despite the challenges associated with leadership.
He noted that leadership comes with several difficulties that can easily discourage duty bearers and cause them to lose commitment to their assignments before the end of their tenure.
Drawing inspiration from Galatians 6:9–10, Apostle Dr. Noble-Atsu stressed that God rewards leaders who continue to do good and persevere to the end, despite challenges arising from institutional structures, procedures and even deliberate attempts by others to undermine their work.
He encouraged leaders to remember that their ultimate assignment is to God and, therefore, should not allow negative comments and criticism to distract them.
“Every leader’s assignment is to God, so you must avoid listening to people’s negative comments, avoid resorting to murmuring and also don’t fail to recognise that people will talk about you,” he said.
He added that leaders who allow such challenges to overwhelm them could become weary in doing the good associated with their calling.
The Madina Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle M. S. Appiah, commended the outgoing leaders for their dedication, sacrifice and commitment to the Women’s Ministry and the church during their four-year tenure.
He subsequently administered the charge of office to Deaconess Torsu and Deaconess Tetteh, urging them to provide effective leadership alongside the other members of the Area Women’s Ministry Executive.
The programme was attended by the Women’s Ministry Director, Deaconess Philomena Mireku, and members of the National Executive Committee, including Mrs Comfort Quampah and Mrs Abishag Asamoah.
Also present were the Evangelism Ministry Director, Apostle Emmanuel K. Appiah; MPWD Coordinator, Pastor Alexander Nyame; Prophet Kwasi Annor of PIWC, Trasacco; Apostle Isaac Tetteh Judah, Odorkor Area Head; Prophet B. A. Adobah (Rtd.); Apostles Ekow Badu Wood and Ankrah Badu; Mrs. Dora Appiah; and Mrs. Grace Opoku Onyinah.
Members of the Madina Area pastorate and their wives, the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Committee of the Women’s Ministry, as well as representatives from the various districts within the Madina Area, also attended the ceremony.
The event celebrated the contributions of the outgoing leaders while formally ushering in a new leadership team to continue the work of the Women’s Ministry in the Madina Area.
