The Axim Area of The Church of Pentecost has dedicated two newly constructed and fully furnished church buildings in the Gwira Banso District, made possible through the sacrificial generosity of Elder Moses Kwasi Nyamekye and his family, and Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Esi Adjei Boateng of PIWC Atomic.
The two edifices were dedicated to the glory of God on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at separate ceremonies officiated by the Axim Area Head and Secretary of the Western Regional Coordinating Committee (WRCC), Apostle Daniel Mireku Gyamera, on behalf of the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Eric Kwabena Nyamekye.
The ceremonies brought together ministers and their wives from across the Axim Area, traditional leaders, including Nana Ete Akrade II, Chief of Gwira Banso, and Deaconess Nana Adjomodzi II, Queen Mother of Gwira Banso, as well as members of the Church and other distinguished guests.
The first building, constructed for the Gwira Banso Central Assembly, was fully funded by Elder Moses Kwasi Nyamekye and his family at a cost of GH₵1.5 million.
Elder Nyamekye, who serves as the District Finance Committee Chairman and Presiding Elder of the Gwira Banso Central Assembly, undertook the project in response to challenges faced by the congregation, including overcrowding in the former church building and recurrent flooding.
Burdened by these challenges, Elder Nyamekye and his family made a personal commitment to provide a more suitable place of worship. Through sacrifice, determination and resource mobilisation, they funded the construction and furnishing of the new edifice.
Apostle Daniel Mireku Gyamera, on behalf of the Chairman of the Church, expressed appreciation to Elder Nyamekye and his family for their generosity and commitment to the advancement of God’s Kingdom. The Gwira Banso District also presented a citation to the family in recognition of their contribution.
The Chief of Gwira Banso, Nana Ete Akrade II, commended The Church of Pentecost for its extensive presence and positive influence across the country. He encouraged the Church to strengthen its discipleship efforts and raise more ministers, particularly indigenous people, for the work of God’s Kingdom.
In response, Elder Nyamekye and his family thanked God for granting them the opportunity and resources to contribute to the growth of the Church. They testified that their decision to build for the Lord had opened doors of blessing to them and encouraged members to dedicate whatever resources they had, regardless of how little, to the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
The second building was constructed for the Kwasikrom Assembly, a congregation located on a steep mountainous terrain beyond the Ankobra River. The building, valued at GH₵125,000, was fully funded by Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Esi Adjei Boateng of PIWC Atomic.
Remarkably, the Kwasikrom project is the third church building the couple has constructed and handed over to The Church of Pentecost within the Gwira Banso District in four years.
Their continued generosity has helped provide suitable places of worship for congregations in hard-to-reach communities and reflects their sustained commitment to supporting the work of God.
Apostle Daniel Mireku Gyamera expressed the appreciation of the Chairman and the entire Church to Mr. and Mrs. Adjei Boateng for their sacrificial service and sustained generosity. The District also presented a citation to the couple in recognition of their contribution.
In their response, Mr. and Mrs. Adjei Boateng thanked God for granting them the means and opportunity to support His work. They described it as a privilege to contribute to the development of the Gwira Banso District by providing a permanent place of worship for the Kwasikrom, Bomokrom and Gilgal Assemblies.
The dedication of the two church buildings represents a significant milestone in the growth of the Gwira Banso District and demonstrates the impact of sacrificial giving, faithful stewardship and commitment to Kingdom service.
