The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has dedicated the newly constructed Yamoah Appoh Memorial Temple at Kabu in the Koforidua Area, describing the facility as a significant addition to the worship and ministry of the assembly.

The dedication ceremony, held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, brought together church leaders, ministers, members, traditional authorities and well-wishers to celebrate the completion of the imposing edifice.

The temple, which was singlehandedly financed by Mr Stephen Yamoah and his wife, members of PIWC Atomic, was constructed at a total cost of GH¢1,649,496.20.

The facility comprises a main worship auditorium, conference hall, pastor’s office and other supporting facilities designed to enhance the assembly’s worship, fellowship and ministry activities.

Speaking at the dedication service, Apostle Obuobi urged Christians to remain committed to God and His Word, stressing that the completion and dedication of a church building must be accompanied by a corresponding commitment to living in obedience to God.

Preaching on the topic, “Obedience to God,” from Ecclesiastes 12:13, he said Christians are called to reverence God and obey His Word without argument or rationalisation.

He noted that obedience to God involves acknowledging His authority and responding to His instructions with total submission.

Apostle Obuobi cautioned Christians against engaging in religious activities while deliberately disregarding God’s Word.

“We can practise religious activities, offer huge support to humanity and the Church, but if none of this is done in obedience to God’s Word, they amount to nothing,” he emphasised.

Using the account of King Saul, who spared what God had commanded him to destroy under the pretext of using the animals for sacrifice, Apostle Obuobi urged Christians not to substitute their own reasoning for obedience to God.

He further stressed that disobedience to God carries serious consequences and urged believers to make obedience to the Word of God a daily commitment.

The newly dedicated temple was named after the late father of Mr Stephen Yamoah, who, together with his wife, provided the financial resources for its construction.

Mr Yamoah expressed his joy and appreciation to the Church for honouring his late father through the naming of the facility.

He subsequently pledged to provide the assembly with musical instruments, new chairs and projection equipment to further enhance the church’s ministry.

The development of the project followed a request made by Apostle Mike Etrue to Apostle Tony Mensah during the latter’s tenure as Resident Minister of PIWC Atomic.

The Kabu Assembly, formerly known as the Kabu Assembly, was established in 1978 with an initial membership of 15 under the leadership of Deaconess Mary Asare.

As part of the dedication ceremony, Apostle Obuobi led the pastorate in prayer for Mr Yamoah and his family, commending their contribution to the work of God and seeking divine blessings upon them.

The ceremony was attended by Apostles Mike Etrue and Tony Mensah and their wives, the Area Heads of Koforidua and Abeka respectively, ministers and their wives from the Koforidua Area, and elders from the Kabu Palace.
