Elder Stephen Yamoah Asante and his wife have donated a brand-new Honda CR-V to The Church of Pentecost’s Chirano District in the Sefwi Bekwai Area to support pastoral and ministerial work in the district.
The vehicle, a 2020 model valued at GH¢275,000, was presented to the Church on Friday, August 7, 2026, at a brief ceremony held in the district.
Explaining the motivation behind the donation, Elder Yamoah said the idea was inspired by the difficult conditions under which the District Pastor was carrying out his ministerial duties.
The district’s previous vehicle had become unserviceable, forcing the District Pastor to rely on commercial vehicles and, on some occasions, motorbikes, popularly known as okada, to undertake pastoral assignments.
Elder Yamoah said God laid it on his heart to provide a new vehicle for the district, and he was grateful for the opportunity and resources to respond to the need.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Church, the Sefwi Bekwai Area Head, Pastor Stephen Bonzoe, commended Elder Yamoah and his family for their generosity and commitment to supporting the work of God.
Drawing on the account of the Roman centurion who built a synagogue for the Jews in Capernaum, as recorded in Luke 7, Pastor Bonzoe emphasised the spiritual significance of giving. He said giving connects the giver to God and attracts divine blessings, including healing and restoration.
Referring to Psalm 50:5, which says, “Gather to me this consecrated people, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice,” Pastor Bonzoe prayed for God’s covenant blessings upon Elder Yamoah and his family.
The District Minister, Pastor Thomas Kwadzo Goiho, together with members of the District Executive Committee, received the keys to the vehicle with gratitude to God and appreciation to the donor and his family.
The donation comes as a significant relief to the Chirano District, which had been facing increasing financial pressure from the maintenance and repair of its old vehicle.
Prior to the donation of the new vehicle, Elder Yamoah had contributed GH¢10,000 towards the maintenance of the old car.
The new vehicle is expected to enhance the mobility of the District Pastor and facilitate pastoral visits, evangelism, administrative duties and other ministerial activities across the district.
Since arriving in the district, Elder Yamoah and his family have consistently supported the Church and contributed to the development and welfare of the wider community.
The donation is therefore being regarded not only as an investment in the Church’s ministry but also as another expression of the family’s commitment to advancing God’s work and serving the community.
