The Ahwiaa District of The Church of Pentecost, under the Old Tafo Area, has held a retirement service in honour of Pastor Joseph Boachie Agyemang and his wife, Mrs. Georgina Boachie Agyemang, after 36 years of active ministry.
The service, held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the fully packed Ahwiaa Central Auditorium, brought together church leaders, Area Heads, retired ministers, members of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, Nananom, ministers and their wives from various regions.
The event was held under the chairmanship of the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Eric Nyamekye, who also officiated the service.
Speaking on the theme, “Meekness and Rest,” Apostle Nyamekye highlighted the life and character of Pastor Joseph Boachie Agyemang, describing him as a meek, committed and resilient minister whose service was worthy of emulation.
Referencing Matthew 5:3–11, Apostle Nyamekye reminded the congregation of Christ’s teaching that “the meek shall inherit the earth.”
He observed that, contrary to the values taught in Scripture, the world was increasingly witnessing cruelty instead of mercy, corruption instead of righteousness and quarrels instead of peace.
According to him, these challenges were evident in society and, to some extent, within the church.
Citing Numbers 12:2–3, Apostle Nyamekye encouraged members and officers of the church not to seek attention or recognition in their service to God.
He urged them to serve with humility, stressing that those who remained meek and faithful would ultimately be exalted and granted a befitting rest.
During his ministerial journey, Pastor Boachie Agyemang served in several stations, including Aworowa in the Techiman Area, Anyinam, Sunyani, Akrade in the Agormanya Area, Offinso, Achimfo and Madina-La Nkwantanang in the Greater Accra Region.
He also served on various area committees in different capacities, including Area Executive Member, Chairperson of PENTSOS, Chairman of the Pensions Committee and Chieftaincy Ministry Coordinator.
Affectionately known as Osofo Boachie Agyemang, he was described as a distinguished man of God whose integrity was evident in both his personality and character.
