Akuse Central Assembly Church Building Dedicated

The Akuse District Central Assembly auditorium of The Church of Pentecost in the Agormanya Area Head has been dedicated to the glory of God.

The Agormanya Area Head, Apostle James Gabriel Quardson, dedicated the edifice on December 20, 2020, assisted by the Akuse District Minister, Pastor Jacob Kwarkyi Frimpong.

Speaking at the service on the topic, “The Second Coming of Jesus Christ – The Hope of the Church” taken from John 14:1-2 and Acts 1:11, the Akrade District Minister, Pastor Joseph K. Tawiah, admonished believers to live well for Jesus Christ since he will be coming soon.

He stated that while waiting for the second coming of Christ, believers need to rely fully on the Holy Spirit, be watchful and vigilant so as not to be blown and tossed by false doctrines, and involve themselves in all activities of the church.

Pastor Tawiah entreated the members to use the church building as a place for prayer and teaching of the unadulterated word of God.

In a short remark, Apostle Quardson reminded the congregation to continue to proclaim the good news about the second coming of Jesus Christ. He further admonished them to live a godly life that will bring glory to God.

The Akuse Central Assembly was established in 1965 through the determination of some members who were then working at Akuse. The Assembly’s first place of worship was the old Slaughter House. The Assembly later acquired a plot of land in 1992 on which the church building is currently situated.

The sod-cutting ceremony took place on July 1, 1992, by Pastor B. B. Baiden, then of Agormanya District, on behalf of the Regional Head of the then Eastern Region ‘A’, Prophet Anum. The foundation stone of the building was laid by Apostle S. R. Odoom in 2009, assisted by the then District Minister, Pastor Evans Nketsia Egyir. Subsequent district ministers tirelessly continued the project to date.

The project was funded by Headquarters grant of GH¢122,971.15, AIDF – GH¢47,500.00, District Support of GH¢ 10,028.00, and Local support of GH¢102,000.00.

In attendance at the event were the Area ministers and their wives, past ministers of the district, the Chief of Natriku, Nene Amoaku IV, and a representative of the Paramount Chief of Osudoku, Nene Aklebeto I.

The Church of Pentecost Commences Daily Global Fasting & Prayer Exercise

The leadership of The Church of Pentecost has initiated the Global Daily Fasting and Prayer exercise to spark a great revival in the Church and the world.

The novelty, which was officially kick-started by the districts in the Kaneshie Area on January 1, 2020, is to be observed by all districts of the Church nationwide at scheduled dates.

Also, a prayer and fasting schedule for every district has been generated and circulated by the Church on the various Social Media platforms to ensure an effective exercise and the maximum participation of members at the various levels.

The initiative is part of efforts by the Church to cause a great demonstration of the power of the Almighty God across the globe following the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the year 2020.

The Apostle Eric Nyamekye-led Executive Council strongly believes that a pandemic of this magnitude ought to be a catalyst for a great move of the Spirit in the nations of the world.

In his own words, Apostle Eric Nyamekye stated “If we have witnessed a pandemic in our lifetime, then we must also see a revival in the Church in our lifetime; for no great revival of religion has taken place without a revival of Satan’s opposition. We, therefore, sense an abundance of rain in the New Year to move the Church from one level of God’s glory to another.”

In view of this pursuit of the supernatural, the Church has taken up the responsibility of leading the charge by encouraging the members to undertake this consistent and well-planned fasting and prayer sequence throughout the year 2021.

Among other things, this District daily fasting and prayer initiative of The Church of Pentecost aims to set every part of the nation on fire, leading to a wave of spiritual awakening across the globe.

In Judges 15:1-5, the story is told of Samson, who out of revenge, destroyed the plantation of the Philistines. What makes this story amazing, is the strategy which he used to raze down their plantation.

Knowing that it would take forever to raze down a large area at the shortest possible time, Samson went out and caught 300 foxes and tied them tail to tail in pairs. He then fastened a torch to every pair of tails, lit the torches and let the foxes loose into the farms. As the foxes run through the farm, they spread the fire along, and consequently, brought the entire farmlands to ashes.

Like Samson, The Church of Pentecost is looking to quicken the spirits of the members across the board so that together they could cause the needed effect in the nation and bring about a great revival in the Church and the world.

It is a season of REVIVAL and the Children of God all over the world are being called upon to rise and make a clear statement that the LORD God Almighty, Maker of the heavens and earth, is not dead, He lives!

Chairman Commends Head Office Staff For Their Loyalty (2)

Chairman Commends Head Office Staff For Their Loyalty

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has commended the staff of the General Headquarters of the church for their loyalty and cooperation.

Speaking at this year’s Head Office Staff Retirement and Awards ceremony held at the Sophia McKeown Temple at La, Accra on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, the Chairman said that despite the changes and the challenges that COVID-19 brought about in the operations of the church, some gains were made over the period. This, he attributed, to the grace of God and the hard work and cooperation of the staff.

“On behalf of Management, may I commend you all, our beloved staff for standing with us throughout these turbulent times, especially when we had to take very critical decisions to get the operations of the church on course.

“Your cooperation has helped us to sail the boat effectively despite the storms of COVID-19. It is our hope and prayer that we can continue to count on you in the years to come in steering the affairs of the church, as we seek together to build a glorious church to possess the nations for our Lord,” he stated.

Touching on Christmas and the prospects for the ensuing year, Apostle Nyamekye reminded all and sundry that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ, the true wonderful story ever told, saying, “It all began on the day that God came in the flesh, the day the son of God was born by a virgin named Mary. The excitement and the wonder that gladded His conception, birth, and dedication is incomparable.

“May I humbly submit that Christmas is not really for individual families but the family of God; a people whom he has purchased by his blood; His household, the Church. It is therefore proper that brethren meet in this season if they can, to celebrate the birth of Christ together, sing and tell of His goodness in the assembly of the saints, and to proclaim Him to the world. In this vein, I admonish all of us to play active roles in the organization of this year’s Christmas convention in our respective districts.”

He added: “Brothers and sisters, as we enter the year 2021, may we not be apprehensive of what the new year has for us. We should not allow the setbacks in 2020 to weigh us down. Rather, let us take advantage of the lessons COVID-19 has taught us and use them as springboards into the future as we take stock of our lives.

“May we strive to correct the errors of the past and resolve to do things differently in the year ahead as we seek to build a glorious church revived to possess the nations. May we also seek to manage our lives and our finances well against the future.  I trust our God will restore and compensate that which we might have lost in 2020.”

Mamponteng District Holds Carols Night Service

The Mamponteng District of The Church of Pentecost in the New Tafo Area has organised a carols night service.

The event, which took place on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the Central Auditorium, was to thank God for His protection throughout the year.

The programme, which was the district’s maiden edition, was heavily patronized by the youth in the district and sister churches in the area. It was chaired by the District Minister, Pastor Jerry Kusi Acquah.

It helped to identify and unearth the talents of the youth through song ministrations, playing of the violin and saxophone, melodrama, Bible reading, and poetry recitals.

According to Pastor Acquah, “the event provided a platform for the members to thank God for their lives and to worship Him through diverse means. The occasion also provided the opportunity to unearth talents among the youth in the church.”

He advised that the birth of Christ should not be a period of lavish living, but a period for reflection on the kindness of God that led Him to spare the world of condemnation through the sacrifice of His Son. “Let’s spend the season with this mindset and try as much as possible to lead others to Christ,” he pointed out.

He added: “2020 has been a year of adversity in Ghana and the world at large. However, God’s grace has sustained us to this day. Many predicted our collective demise, but God has kept us alive and refuted their predictions, for which we are grateful and want to honour and praise His name.”

He revealed the 2020 Christmas Convention theme for the New Tafo Area as “For unto us a Child is Born, Unto us, a Son is Given.”

He stressed that “Jesus was born for us and whoever seeks him will have life. Let’s not spend this season eating and drinking. However, we must ponder on the goodness of God. Let’s celebrate this Christmas in peace and always have the interest of others also at heart.”

One of the organisers of the programme, Samuel Anyan,  stated: “Majority of the youth take joy outside the church which does not help to identify their position in Christ. Therefore, the church needed to play a role in helping them remember the reason for the season.”

The members expressed great delight in the event and thanked the leadership of the church for organising the programme.

There were ministrations from the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Mamponteng and the Voice of Pentecost in the Kwadaso District.
