Apostle Larbi Wettey & Wife Miraculously Survive Car Crash

Apostle Matthew Larbi Wettey, a retired minister of The Church of Pentecost, and his wife, Elizabeth, miraculously escaped a horror crash on Friday while on their way home from Nsawam.

The couple, together with a 92-year-old relative, were on their way to their residence in Tema Community 25.

As they approached the overhead, construction workers on the Dawhenya stretch signaled oncoming vehicles to slow down as work was ongoing, so all the vehicles, including that of the retired minister, began to decelerate.

Suddenly, a Toyota Corolla vehicle on top speed run into their vehicle from behind. The impact of the crash was so severe that it caused a reciprocal effect on the cars ahead, as they also ran into each other.

By the grace of God, all three occupants of the car, including Apostle Matthew Larbi Wettey, sustained no injuries despite the impact of the collision. The driver of the Toyota vehicle, a lay preacher of the Deeper Life Church, also survived the crash unscathed.

After the incident, Apostle Matthew Larbi Wettey, his wife, and their nonagenarian relative, underwent a medical assessment at the hospital and have since been discharged.

To God be the glory.

“I Feel No Pain Again In My Heart!” – Lady Receives Instant Healing

Mrs Martha Obodei, a grocery shop owner at Azizanya, has been miraculously healed of a chronic heart disease.

Martha, 33, said that, for ten years, she constantly experienced shortness of breath and fatigue even when she trekked a short distance.

After trying various medications with no results, Martha began to visit churches seeking divine intervention.

On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, The Church of Pentecost inaugurated a new local assembly in her community after an evangelism outreach organised by the Evangelism Ministry in partnership with the Tema Area of the Church, dubbed the “Ada for Christ” crusade. As part of the outreach, an intense prayer session was held for the new converts later in the evening.

Martha, who had her shop nearby, was called upon to supply the new converts with drinks after the service. She slowly made her way to the church premises and sat on a chair, waiting for the prayer session to end so that she could serve them the drinks.

Soon afterwards, she narrated, the pastor leading the prayer session walked to her and prayed for her. After the prayer, Martha suddenly realised that she no longer felt any pain in her heart.

“So, I immediately ran to the house and back; it was at this point that I became convinced that I am healed,” she said.

Mrs Obodei shared this testimony during the first Sunday service of the newly-opened Azizanya Assembly.

10-Month-Old Child, 2 Others Saved From Gory Accident

Elder Peter Dadzie, the Presiding Elder of Bethel Assembly, who also doubles as the District Financial Committee Chairman of New Awoshie District of The Church of Pentecost, was saved from a gory accident recently.

Present in the car with him were his brother, Elder Edward Dadzie, immediate past Presiding Elder of Mt. Zion Assembly, and Sister Juliana Gyane, who had a 10-month-old child.

In an interview with PENTECOST NEWS at a thanksgiving service at Bommoden Assembly, Elder Peter Dadzie revealed that they were returning from a funeral of a relative at Akim Aperade, in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

According to him, upon reaching Mepom, a town situated between Asamankese and Adeiso, the car he was driving lost control, after the tire burst.

“The vehicle somersaulted severally until it finally landed in the bush,” he said.

He iterated that by the grace of God, they were rescued out of the severely damaged car, safe and sound, saying that: “we were taken to the Adeiso Government Hospital, and after three hours the doctors declared us fit to leave.”

Fetish Priest Surrenders To Christ

Mr John Asare Boakye, the fetish priest of Nuba, a community in the Jomoro Municipal District of Ghana, has surrendered his life to Christ.

The man, who was popularly known as “Nana Boakye,” said he served the gods of his family for several years until he began to practice sorcery and fetishism in 2002.

According to him, he had performed many rituals and assisted many people who sought his help.

Mr Boakye said that one day, his wife advised him to give up fetishism and chart a new course in life.

“Although I agreed with her, I was afraid of what the gods would do to me if I took such a drastic decision,” he said.

With each passing day, Mr Boakye said, he felt a burning desire to stop the practice but was still gripped with fear. So, he confided in a tenant, who is a member of the Nuba Assembly of The Church of Pentecost, about his dilemma. The tenant, in turn, informed his Presiding Elder about the issue.

On hearing the news, the Presiding Elder, the Tikobo 1 District Evangelism Leader, and three other officers of the Assembly, paid Nana Boakye a visit where he confirmed everything they had been told.

The team shared the gospel message with him and led him to accept Jesus as his Lord and personal Saviour.

They also asked him to surrender his charms, which he did. After a time of intense prayers, they set them on fire till it burnt to ashes.

John has been completely delivered from sorcery and fetishism and now fellowships with the Nuba Assembly in the Tikobo 1 District of the Church. To God be the glory.

Delivered From A Spiritual Attack

On the way home from a dawn broadcast exercise within the Mamobi township, members of the Pentecost University (PU) branch of the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) found a man lying haplessly on the floor.

His condition, at first sight, smacked a person who was either drunk, epileptic or perhaps mentally challenged.

All efforts by the team to revive him proved futile. Reluctant to leave him behind in that sorry state, they carried him to the Salem Assembly auditorium in the Mamobi District of The Church of Pentecost to pray for him.

After an intense prayer session, Samuel came to himself and became more responsive. He was, however, unable to talk and only responded to questions with gestures. So, the team continued to pray for him until he was completely restored.

After taking a bath and changing into some clean clothes, the gentleman, who revealed his name as Samuel Kabutey, inquired from the team how he had ended up at the auditorium. He later narrated his ordeal, recounting the events that led to his unfortunate situation.

According to him, the last memory he had of events was some men (wearing dreadlocks), whom he presumed to be cultists, chasing him throughout the night. So, he hid in a pile of charcoal and spent the rest of the night there.

He said that the night before the attack, he dreamt of a similar attack by some men in dreadlocks, but, in this instance, he could identify them because knew them in person.

In the dream, he further narrated, his assailants injected an unknown liquid substance into his leg as he struggled with them. He then woke up from his sleep.

Mr Kabutey was, therefore, grateful to the team for the assistance offered to him. He believes that he has been delivered from a spiritual attack which had now manifested physically.

Samuel, who used to be a devout Christian, but turned from the faith some 15 years ago, rededicated his life to Christ. He is now a member of the Church.

The story of Mr. Kabutey is one of the many miraculous accounts recorded during a five-day evangelism outreach organised by PENSA-PU at the Mamobi township and its environs. The event recorded a total of 117 souls amidst instant healing of various ailments to the glory of God.

The Church of Pentecost Member Represents Ghana At Global Conference

Lucky Adomba Agbavor is a member of the Dunamis English Assembly in the Community 12 District of The Church of Pentecost. He is one of the beneficiaries of the educational scholarship offered by the Church at the Pentecost University.

He is currently a student nurse at the university and a Child Labour Survivor advocate of the International Labour Organization (ILO), a United Nations agency whose mandate is to advance social and economic justice through setting international labour standards.

Lucky shares an inspiring testimony of how, through the grace of God, he was selected to represent Ghana at the 5th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour held in Durban, South Africa:

__________

I read a news article about the “Honest Taxi Driver,” Mr Kwesi Ackon on The Church of Pentecost website, and was greatly inspired to share with you an exceedingly great testimony about what the Lord has also done for me in the past few weeks.

My main objective for sharing this testimony is to inspire you and encourage you to keep trusting in the Lord.

To put this in context. I come from a very humble background. To add salt to injury, I was rejected by my father, and had to endure excruciating hard labour as a child to be able to make ends meet. For the past six years, I have been lodging at Blessed Assembly church auditorium in Community 11. Life was unbearable, but the Lord is faithful; He has seen me through all my predicaments as well as my education. Through the grace of God, I obtained a scholarship from the Tema Area of The Church of Pentecost to pursue nursing at the Pentecost University.

After completing my clinical internship at the Tema General Hospital, I went back home to my mother at Sogakope in the Volta Region of Ghana for the rest of the holidays. On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, I received a phone call from the office of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).

The caller introduced herself as Miss Bridget Agyemang, the Secretary for Programmes and Projects at NUGS. According to her, she had been directed by the NUGS President, Mr. Dennis Appiah Larbi Ampofoh, to inform me that I have been selected as a Guest Speaker for the 5th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour to be hosted by the Government of South Africa.

I instantly became dumbfounded and could not process all that I had been told. I was well overcome with shock. I only came back to myself after she asked the question: “Lucky, do you have a passport?” To which I responded, “No please.” Through the assistance of NUGS, All-Africa Students UNION AASU, Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation and the 100 Million Campaign Foundation, I went through all the processes and obtained a passport and the visa for the trip.

The conference was slated for Sunday, May 15; I touched down in the Kwazulu-Natal Province of Durban on Sunday afternoon and headed straight to the International Convention Centre (the largest convention centre in Africa) to a room full of top government officials, renowned business people, trade unionists and NGOs from all over the world.

Everything was happening so quickly that I could hardly process it. Just an hour later, I shared the same stage with some great personalities such as H.E. Stefan Löfven (Prime Minister, Sweden), Mr Kailash Satyarthi (Indian Nobel Peace Laureate), Hon. Thembelani Thulas Nxesi (Minister of Labour, South Africa), Mrs Leymah Roberta Gbowee (Liberian Nobel Peace Prize Winner-2011), and Miss Nozipho Tshabalala, a globally-recognised South African moderator.

The session, dubbed the “Peace Laureate,” gave me the opportunity to share my story with the world as a Child Labour Survivor. I was also interviewed by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) News Agency, Voice of America (VOA), US Presidency’s Media Agency (USPA), and the France24 News Network, among several other international media outlets.

I would like to thank the Almighty God for locating me with His grace. I owe it all to Him. I would also like to thank the Tema Area of The Church of Pentecost for granting me the scholarship to study at the prestigious Pentecost University. It is this kind gesture that granted me the avenue to become who I am today.

Pastor & Wife Blessed With A Child After 16 Years

After tying the knot, the greatest wish or desire of every couple is to conceive and have a child (or children) of their own. However, in the case of the Donkorkrom District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Joseph Ndanyinanse, and his wife, Victoria, they had to wait for 16 years to see this dream come true.

The arrival of their bouncing baby boy (named Joseph Kweku Ndanyinanse Jnr.) has left profound joy in their hearts and put broad smiles on their faces. To God be the glory.

Narrating his ordeal to PENTECOST NEWS, Pastor Ndanyinanse, who is also the Afram Plains Area Secretary, said he and his wife had been patiently waiting on the Lord for a child of their own.

According to the Donkorkrom District Minister, the irony of his situation was that, while he and his wife were struggling with childlessness, the Lord, through his ministry, was blessing other childless marriages with the fruit of the womb.

Despite the long wait, Pastor Ndanyinanse is grateful to the Lord for blessing them with a child in His own time.

“By the grace of God, just at the appropriate but unexpected time, God considered our plight and blessed us with a baby boy; this indeed is the doing of the Lord,” he said.

A short naming and dedication ceremony was held recently at the Donkorkrom Central Assembly, Donkorkrom, and officiated by the Afram Plains Area Head, Apostle Victor Kwasi Asamoah.

Delivering a sermon at the event on the topic, “For A Reason I Came,” Pastor Stephen Mensah, the Ekye Amanfrom District Minister of the Church, asserted that no one was born to this world by mistake but for a reason.

He noted that the world is the garden of the Lord which He entrusted to man to take care of. However, man was required to bring other labourers on board to help him discharge his mandate effectively.

“God enlists his workers through procreation. [In fact] Jesus Christ came to testify and declare this truth,” he stated.

Pastor Mensah, therefore, advised parents to eschew comparing their children with others, and rather concentrate on who (the child) the Lord had entrusted to their care.

He also urged Christians to strive to fulfil their earthly mandate, saying: “Wherever you find yourself, remember that God planted you there to possess the nations.”

A Child After 19 Years Of Marriage

Mr. Ebenezer and Mrs. Dorcas Sarkwa of Pentecost International Worship Centre, Kwadaso (PIWC-Kwadaso) have been blessed with a child after 19 years of marriage.

After several years of miscarriages and two unsuccessful In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), the couple who had been married since 2003 could not have a child of their own.

As a result, medical experts who gave various treatments to Mrs. Sarkwa for the last 19 years, but to no avail, concluded that she was barren.

In desperation and having exhausted all human efforts, the couple resolved to build their faith in God through the power of prayer by actively participating in the Radical Faith Convention held at PIWC-Kwadaso in 2021. The event, dubbed, “Radical Faith, Radical Results,” was an initiative of the Resident Minister, Pastor Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei Asiamah.

After a year of commitment, complete dependence on God, unwavering spirit and adherence to the resident minister’s counselling, the God of impossibilities made the barren womb fertile and Mrs. Sarkwa became pregnant.

Today, Mr. and Mrs. Sarkwa have been blessed with a child to the glory of God.

Indeed, our God still performs miracles.

The Church of Pentecost Records More Miracles

Over the years, The Church of Pentecost has been noted for manifesting the great power of God through diverse signs and wonders.

For instance, in 2021, the church recorded many miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit, resulting in the dead being raised to life, the blind eyes opening, the paralysed walking, cancerous cells being healed, and childless couples being blessed with children after many years of marriage, among many other miracles worth testifying about.

This was revealed by Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, during the just-ended 17th Extraordinary Council Meetings which took place at the Pentecost Convention Center (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region.

Among the spectacular events experienced in various assemblies of the church last year was the case of Victoria Quaynin, a 17-year-old teenager at Twifo Kyebi District in the Dunkwa Area of the church, who on February 23, 2021, was declared dead at the Oponso Health Centre, came back to life through intercession by the church.

According to Apostle Nyamekye, the girl whose family could not come to terms with her sudden death rushed her body to the District Minister’s residence (mission house), and after an hour and 15 minutes of intensive prayer by the District Pastor and his team, the dead girl came back to life to the glory of God.
The Chairman also disclosed that on December 31, 2021, one Anthony Anku from Kpelema Assembly in the Kparekpare District within the Nkwanta Area of the church, was found lifeless in his room and later declared dead by medics at the Kparekpare Health Centre.

However, the District Minister of the church, Probationary Overseer Amos Affedzie, together with some elders of the church, went to the facility and together with the father of the deceased, prayed for the dead brother.
“After praying for about 20 minutes, the young man suddenly came back to life to the glory of God,” he stated.

About childbirth, the Chairman of the church mentioned that Mrs. Charity Ampah of Abakrampa District in the Cape Coast Area of the church, had her womb removed after a surgical operation some years ago, and was also diagnosed with Hepatitis B in 2021.
“She presented her case during one of the church’s monthly prayers; she was prayed for and directed to go back for the Hepatitis B test again. The second result came out negative to the utmost surprise of the medical officials,” he pointed out.
He added: “To the glory of God, Mrs. Ampah who had no hopes of conceiving, conceived, and has delivered a baby boy.”

Apostle Nyamekye again disclosed that in Sweden, a child of a Burundian immigrant family who are non-members of the church was seriously sick and put on a life support machine. When the condition became worse and doctors had come to their wits’ end, the father sent a message to a friend in the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Stockholm about the situation.

“The church instantly interceded intensely, and thereafter visited the family to pray with them and the child received instant healing and subsequently discharged from the hospital,” he said.
Although the testimonies around the world were many, Apostle Eric Nyamekye reiterated that God was still in the miracle business and glorifying His name through the church.
