Love Is Key To Successful Marriage – Women’s Director Observes

The Director of the Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Mrs Philomina Mireku, has delivered a heartfelt message to married men, urging them to love their wives sincerely, purely, and consistently.

According to her, men showing love to their wives reflects Christ’s love for the Church.

Speaking at the recently held 5th Bezalel Conference organised by Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh, Mrs Mireku highlighted the importance of love in a woman’s life.

She stated: “A woman thrives in an environment of love. When a husband loves his wife, it fuels her to give her best and enables her to fulfil her God-given responsibilities.”

Addressing the topic, “The Expectations of Wives from Their Husbands,” Mrs Mireku revealed that unmet expectations often cause strain in marriages. She stressed the need for effective communication between spouses, ensuring that both partners are aware of each other’s expectations, saying, “As a husband, it is important to understand your wife’s needs to foster a stronger and happier marriage.”

The Women’s Director emphasised that every wife desires a husband she can rely on, someone who is supportive and trustworthy. She, therefore, urged husbands to be considerate and respectful in their interactions with their wives as they live together.

Drawing inspiration from biblical passages such as 1 Peter 3:7 and Ephesians 5:25-29, she pointed out that the Christian marriage is a reflection of Christ’s sacrificial love for the Church.

Categorising the expectations of wives from their husbands, Mrs Mireku outlined five areas: spirituality, social life, domestic responsibilities, finances, and sexual intimacy.

In terms of spirituality, she stressed the importance of mutual growth, praying and studying the Word of God together, and being dependable and faithful to one another. Regarding social expectations, she emphasised open communication, treating each other with kindness and respect both at home and in public, and providing support and consistency.

For domestic responsibilities, she mentioned the desire for husbands to be protective, actively involved in raising children, and supportive of household chores. She also encouraged husbands to involve their wives in taking important family decisions like property acquisitions and retirement planning.

Discussing financial expectations, Mrs Mireku emphasised transparency in monetary matters, providing financial support unconditionally, being responsible fathers, and being driven by ambition and purpose.

She also highlighted the importance of meeting sexual expectations, including affection, communication, understanding each other’s needs, and spending quality time together.

Mrs Philomina Mireku concluded by urging the Church to promote trustworthiness and tenderness among husbands.

Women’s Ministry Of The Church Of Pentecost Supports Religious Leaders In Akosombo

The Women’s Ministry of the New Combine District in the Agormanya Area of The Church of Pentecost recently reached out to various religious leaders in Akosombo, donating stationery and other items to them.

Led by Mrs Esther Kesse, the wife of the District Minister, the team visited notable figures such as Togbe Avor, a renowned fetish priest in the area, as well as the Chief Imam and others.

During the team’s visit, Togbe Avor graciously interrupted his ongoing annual festival to receive the women. Surprised and touched to witness a Christian fellowship in his shrine, Togbe Avor expressed his gratitude and shared that even his own Christian family members had abandoned him since he became the fetish priest 19 years ago.

Togbe Avor’s appreciation led to a subsequent visit from District Minister, Pastor Martin Berko Kesse, accompanied by some elders, who presented him with a church diary as per his request.

Overwhelmed with joy, Togbe Avor confessed that The Church of Pentecost’s demonstration of goodwill would foster peaceful coexistence among religious leaders. He encouraged his followers and TV viewers to attend The Church of Pentecost.

The team then visited the Chief Imam at his residence in Akosombo, offering a hamper and various church souvenirs as a gesture of support. The Chief Imam praised The Church of Pentecost and emphasized that the women’s actions set an example of harmony among different religious groups.

He expressed his gratitude for the footprints left by the Women’s Ministry and shared that he regularly listened to the Pentecost Hour broadcast on the information centre in the town. He promised to encourage his Muslim brothers to tune in as well.

Finally, the ministry concluded their day by visiting Nene George Chawe’s palace, the Chief of Kokonor, in Akosombo. The chief warmly welcomed the team and requested a prayer service with his entire family. The Women’s Ministry then presented a hamper and various stationery items to the chief.

Impressed by the visit, the chief invited the church to fellowship with him and his family in the palace regularly.

You Are Made For Good Works – Mrs Juanita Nuekpe Tells Women

Mrs Juanita Nuekpe, the wife of La Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has said that before one could make any meaningful impact in society, they must be truly and genuinely born-again Christians, with Jesus being the Lord of their lives.

Mrs Nueke made this remarkable statement at the La Area Virtuous Ladies joint service held at Dr Thomas Wyatt Memorial Temple on April 22, 2023, on the theme: “Repositioning the Virtuous Lady in Contemporary Times for Maximum Impact in her Career, Social and Spiritual Life.”

She noted with scriptural references to Ephesians 2: 10; Matthew 5:14-16 and said every individual is unique in their make-up with gifts and talents. She stressed that they must become conscious of it and utilise it well before they can impact society.

She said every individual had been created for good works and as the light of the world.

“Just as Dorcas had a tremendous and positive impact in her community and came back to life when she died due to her good works, so must all virtuous ladies have maximum impact in the communities where God has planted them,” she pointed out.

She indicated that salvation is one key factor and genesis of impact-making.

“One should be genuinely repented and have the seal of God. Nicodemus’ encounter with Jesus highlighted the importance of being born again (John 3: 3),” she said, adding, “Beyond being born again, one must become a true disciple of Jesus Christ by loving, serving, imitating, denying yourself and making Him the Lord, husband and master in all aspects of your life.”

She continued with scripture reference to Colossians 3: 16 and said that to do greater works and make a maximum impact, believers must be filled with the word of God since it can save, heal and deliver. Also, they must spend time in prayer and fasting, have integrity and be mindful of how they interact with others.

Mrs Juanita Nuepke further noted that to make maximum impact, one needs to be hard working, saying, “Whatever you find yourself doing, work at it with all diligence as working for the Lord and not a man to obtain the reward thereof” (Colossians 3:23 and Proverbs 6: 6).

She advised the ladies to avoid time wasters such as spending a lot of time on social media and unprofitable conversations, which does not add value to their lives.

“Wear the garment of humility and avoid bad company, which will corrupt your life. Dissociate yourself from dream and vision killers,” she said, adding, “Be a solution to someone and not the problem.”

Mrs Juanita Nuekpe concluded by calling on members to be agents of change in their generation and generations yet unborn, just as was the case of the four daughters of Zelophehad who changed the law of inheritance in Israel.

“Until you reach the point where your absence is felt, you are not making any impact,” she averted.

The Area Head, Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, a cross-section of pastors and their wives, and the Area Women’s Ministry Executives were in attendance.

New Combine Women’s Ministry Embarks On Outreach At Nyameben Basic School

New Combine Women’s Ministry in the Agormanya Area of The Church of Pentecost has embarked on an outreach programme at Nyameben Basic School, near Marine in Akosombo.

Preaching the gospel at the event which took place on March 24, 2023, Mrs. Esther Kesse, the wife of the District Pastor, based her message on John 3:16 and said that God has packaged Jesus Christ for the world so that he would become the solution to the world’s problem.

She indicated that Jesus was packaged in such a way that everything that mankind needed is found in him.

“So if you are looking for success in your exams, it is found in Jesus; if you are looking for a bright future, it is found in Jesus; if you are looking for deliverance and breakthrough in life, it is found in Jesus who has been packaged as a perfect gift for the world,” she said, adding, “You need to accept this perfect gift from God targeted to meet all our needs and aspirations in life.”

Mrs Kesse revealed that God did not impose Jesus on mankind. Instead, God gave him as a gift to the world to be owned by any man who receives him with a good and thankful heart.

She, therefore, encouraged the students to accept Jesus Christ whom God gave to the world out of his abundant love because the solution to the world’s problems is found in him.

In all, 56 students and a teacher accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour while 37 backsliders rededicated their lives to Christ.

Pastor Martin Kesse (District Minister), who prayed for the new converts, took the opportunity to talk to the students and staff to be environmentally conscious by keeping the school and home environments clean.

He encouraged the teachers to inculcate environmental-related topics in their lessons to conscientize the students to take good care of the environment.

The outreach exercise ended with hot lunch. All the 250 students and staff were served with hot lunch.

In response, the headmaster of the school, Mr. Eric Siakor, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the District Pastor and his wife, and the Women’s Ministry for the uncommon gesture done to them.

He blessed The Church of Pentecost in general for the precious investment it is making in all spheres of life to possess the nations. He encouraged the church to come to the school frequently to talk to the students.
