Jamasi District Organises Mass Wedding

The Jamasi District in the Ashanti-Mampong Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a mass marriage blessing ceremony for three couples.

The beautiful event took place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Jamasi Central assembly auditorium.

The ceremony, which was officiated by the District Minister, Pastor Emmanuel Tete Yeboah Asare, was attended by members and non-members of the church within the communities where the couples come from.

Also in attendance was the wife of the district minister, Mrs Dorcas Asare. Others were the Assistant District Women’s Ministry leader, Mrs Emelia Boafo, the District Executive Committee members, officers, among others.

Pastor Asare congratulated the couples and admonished others to follow suit. He stated that the purpose of the ceremony was to help the couples commit their marriages into the hands of God, the Christian way and allow them to enjoy the privileges that come with it.

In a sermon on the topic, ‘They may all be one’ (Prov. 14:1), Pastor Asare compared the marriage institution to a building structure. He explained how everyone wishes to have nice building structures, yet do not know the stress that people go through in putting up such beautiful buildings.

He highlighted four pillars couples need in marriage in order to sustain their marriage structure. This, he said, includes having clearer understanding of marriage as an institution, having fellowship and friendship among couples, getting rid of every poisonous attitude in marriage, and lastly trusting God during troubles in the marriage journey.

According to him, just as structures take years to be raised, marriage also takes time to gel and, therefore, the need for couples to be patient with each other.

Pastor Emmanuel Tete Yeboah Asare concluded his sermon by calling on couples to endeavour to build their marriages with God’s word and prayer, knowing that the family that prays together stays together.

God Always Has A People For His Cause – Rev. Staurt Blount web

God Always Has A People For His Cause – Rev. Staurt Blount

The Director for Ministry of the Elim Pentecostal Churches in the United Kingdom, Rev. Staurt Blount, has declared that God always has a people to pursue His cause.

Giving an exhortation at the 18th Session of the Extraordinary Council Meetings of The Church of Pentecost at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region of Ghana, on Thursday, May 2, 2024, Rev. Blount indicated that the world has been corrupted by practices and cultures that are alien to the will of God.

This, he explained, was a deviation from the divine purpose of God in creating the world to which a call for transformation is needed.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Unleashed to thrive in God’s world,’ Rev. Blount stated: ‘We live in a period and culture that is alien from the will of God. Regardless of this, God has called us to transform nations through the power of His word.’

Drawing inspiration from the first six chapters of the Book of Daniel, the Elim Director of Ministry revealed that God always has a strategy to accomplish His works and thus, God is always in control, has a people for His cause and has a plan to guide His actions.

Explaining further, he argued that people may wonder why God allowed King Nebuchadnezzar to take the Israelites into captivity and allowed some articles stolen from the temple.

‘God did that to demonstrate the fact that He can use His enemies to purify His people, just like He had earlier warned King Jehoiakim earlier and therefore God always has people,’ he emphasised.

He added that at a period in the history of Israel they had both good and bad prophets and judges. However, whenever the people of Israel turned their backs to God, He always brought up prophets to speak to them.

He called on all ministers and Christians to avail themselves and strive to push the will of God against the corrupt culture of the current world to transform it for God.

The Death Of The Righteous Transforms Lives – Apostle Ato Addison (Rtd) web

The Death Of The Righteous Transforms Lives – Apostle Ato Addison (Rtd)

Former General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Rigwell Ato Addison (Rtd), has highlighted the need for Christians to live a life that will bring the glory of Christ to transform their world.

Delivering the sermon during the burial and memorial service for the late Mrs Gladys Arnan, the wife of the second General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, the late Apostle Daniel Kwabena Arnan, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the forecourt of the Achimota Central Assembly of the church, Apostle Ato Addison drew inspiration from the biblical passage of John 12:23-24 to emphasise three key things all humans should acknowledge in their life.

He highlighted the significance of death, noting that while it is appointed for everyone to day, Jesus’ death was pivotal in saving humanity, saying, ‘The cross is the glory of the Messiah, and unless He dies, that glory won’t be seen,’ he said.

He urged the mourners who came from all walks of life to pay close attention to the issue of death, as Jesus himself emphasised its importance.

According to him, all Christians must die from sins and the things of the world immediately after accepting Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour to be able to meet God after their departure from earth.

The former General Secretary also spoke about the importance of sacrifice, encouraging the faithful to be dedicated about their service to God and to live wholeheartedly for Christ to transform the lives of others.

Apostle Rigwell Ato Addison (Rtd) assured the congregation of the hope that comes with steadfast faith in God, saying, ‘No one has stayed diligently in God and hasn’t benefited from Him. Whatever we’re doing in our Christian life and service won’t go waste. God has given us an assurance of blessings and a better life in heaven.’

He took the opportunity during his sermon to eulogise the late Mrs Gladys Arnan, describing her as an evangelist who had won many souls for Christ and a modest and humble woman, whose life and death had brought glory to the Lord.

The Church Of Pentecost Eulogises The Late Mrs Gladys Arnan

Mrs Gladys Arnan, wife of the second General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, the late Apostle D. K. Arnan, has been eulogised as a woman who ‘exemplified her role as a minister’s wife during her active years in ministry.

The General Council in their tribute read by Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, the General Secretary of the church, during the burial and memorial service in honour of Mrs Arnan on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the forecourt of the Achimota Central Assembly, described her as ‘a diligent, assertive, industrious, and prayerful’ woman who did not keep these virtues to herself but strived to instill them in her children and household.

One other remarkable thing the church highlighted about the life of the late Mrs Gladys Arnan was the fact that, even in retirement, after the demise of her husband, Apostle D. K. Arnan, more than two decades ago, ‘Mama Gladys remained committed to the Lord by actively participating in church programmes and shared her wisdom and insights with leadership and the entire church.

Mrs Arnan got married to Apostle Daniel Kwabena Arnan, the second General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost in 1967 and played pivotal roles in advancing the cause of the gospel with her late husband.

With great support for her husband, they served The Church of Pentecost for 36 years in ministry in various capacities, being stationed at Kadjebi District, Suhum District, Tamale Area, the General Headquarters as General Secretary and the Greater Accra Regional Head at the same time. After successfully ending their term as General Secretary in 1988, Apostle D. K. Arnan and Mama Gladys served as National Head in Liberia and Regional Head in Takoradi, Koforidua, Kumasi and finally ended it all at Akim Oda in 2002.

She was called to glory by her Maker in February this year at aged 74.

CALLED TO REFLECT HIS BEAUTY & HUMILITY web

Called To Reflect His Beauty & Humility

Reflecting the beauty of Christ is a profound aspect of Christian life, emphasising the transformational power of the Gospel. The Bible, especially in the New Testament, frequently discusses this theme. One of the key passages is 2 Corinthians 3:18.

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV).

In this passage, the apostle Paul speaks to the Corinthians about the transformative power of beholding the glory of the Lord. Just as Moses’ face radiated God’s glory after being in His presence, we too, as believers, are called to reflect the beauty of Christ. As Christians, we are continually being transformed to reflect the image of Christ more and more, as we grow in our relationship with Him. This transformation is not merely external but involves our hearts and character, as we are changed to reflect His beauty, love, and holiness in our lives.

In a world often characterized by self-promotion and individualism, the call to reflect the beauty and humility of Christ stands out as a radical and countercultural message. As Christians, this call is not just a suggestion but a profound invitation to mirror the character of Jesus in our daily lives, interactions, and attitudes.

One of the central aspects of Christ’s character is His beauty. Not a beauty defined by outward appearance or worldly standards, but a beauty that emanates from his perfect love, compassion, and grace. This beauty is seen in his interactions with others, especially the marginalized and oppressed. These qualities, when embodied by believers, become a powerful testimony to the transformative power of the Gospel. He showed kindness to the outcasts, healed the sick, and stood up for the downtrodden. As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect this beauty in how we treat others, just as a mirror faithfully reflects an image, we are called to mirror Christ in our actions and words, showing love and compassion to all, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Another key aspect of Christ’s character is his humility. Despite being the Son of God, Jesus humbled himself, taking on the form of a servant and ultimately sacrificing himself for the sake of others (Philippians 2:5-8). His humility was not a sign of weakness, but of strength and love. As Christians, we are called to emulate this humility, putting others before ourselves and serving those in need with a spirit of humility and grace.

Reflecting the beauty and humility of Christ is not always easy in a world that often values pride and self-promotion. It requires a constant reorientation of our hearts and minds, a willingness to set aside our own desires and ambitions in order to follow the example of Jesus. It means seeking to love and serve others, even when it is difficult or inconvenient. It means choosing humility over pride, forgiveness over resentment, and grace over judgement. But in doing so, we not only honor God, but we also become beacons of light in a dark world, pointing others towards the beauty and humility of Christ.

One of the most powerful ways we reflect Christ’s beauty and humility is through our relationships. When we love others sacrificially, forgive as Christ forgave us, and extend grace to those who least deserve it, we mirror the heart of Christ to the world. Our lives become a living testimony to the transformative power of the Gospel.

Ultimately, reflecting the beauty and humility of Christ is not something we can do in our own strength. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit working in us that we can truly reflect these virtues. As we yield to the Spirit’s leading as Christians, we are called to reflect the beauty and humility of Christ in our daily lives. This means showing love and compassion to all and humbling ourselves to serve others. By doing so, we become true reflections of the character of Christ, shining his light into the world around us.

APPLICATION

As we meditate on the truth that we are a people of God unleashed to transform our world, let us be encouraged to seek God’s presence daily. May His Spirit mold us into His image, and may our lives reflect the beauty of Christ in such a way that others are drawn to Him through us. May we shine as lights in a world that desperately needs His love and grace.
