Teshie- Nungua Area Screens Women For Breast Cancer

The Teshie-Nungua Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has organised a series of events in observance of the Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Women from all 26 districts in the area converged at the Agnes Boahemaa Gyimah Memorial Temple, Nungua last Saturday to participate in an evangelism float organised as part of the observance. 

They walked through the principal streets of the town holding placards bearing messages of salvation such as “Jesus is the only way, the truth and life,” “If you do not go to Heaven do not blame God,” “You may be in church but not in Christ,” and “Repent, Confess! Life in Christ begins on this note.” 

Other inscriptions were “Had I known is always at last,” “Jesus loves you,” “Behold I am coming soon,” and “Repent or Perish!” 

The women ended the float at the premises of the Pentecost International Worship Centre, Graceland (PIWC-Graceland), where they were screened by health professionals for breast cancer.

The health workers also educated them on early signs and symptoms of breast cancer and the various treatment processes for the disease.

The wife of the Area Head, Mrs. Grace Nkrumah-Agyeman, and the Area Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Mrs. Sophia Nana Arthur, were grateful to the districts for their massive participation in the exercise.

The various ministers’ wives in the area also took part in the event.

Preach The Gospel, Rescue the Perishing! – Apostle S.Y. Antwi Charges Christians

The Cape Coast Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi, has charged believers to go out and preach the Gospel with all urgency to snatch lost souls from eternal damnation.

Apostle Antwi, who is also an Executive Council Member of the church, made this passionate call on October 31, 2021, during the launch of the ‘One Member One Discipled Soul’ project at the auditorium of the Adisadel Assembly in Cape Coast in the Central Region. 

Quoting from 2 Timothy 4:1-5, Apostle Antwi said Christians must aggressively preach the Gospel to rescue souls that are hell-bound especially since all signs point to the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ. 

According to him, every Christian must proclaim Christ in season and out of season and trust Jesus Christ to draw men unto Himself through evangelistic efforts. He further noted that it is only the Gospel that has the power to rescue sinners from the kingdom of darkness and grant them access into God’s presence. 

The Cape Coast Area Head was confident that through aggressive evangelism, members of the LGBTQI+ community and its advocates could be brought to the saving knowledge of Christ and be delivered from their sinful tendencies. He also called on Christians to continue to intercede for Ghana in prayer so that the LGBTQ bill, currently before parliament, will be passed into law.

Outlining the strategies and activities for the One Member One Discipled Soul project, Pastor Samuel Aidoo, the Area Evangelism Ministry Leader, said the Cape Coast Area is targeting a harvest of 2,900 souls at the end of November 2021, which has been declared the ‘Aggressive Evangelism Month’ by The Church of Pentecost.

Among the outreaches to be undertaken during the period are rallies, houses-to-house evangelism, as well as outreaches to the ghettos, markets, lorry stations and institutions.

He also revealed that a mega crusade will be organised by the Area at Elmina as part of the exercise.

The event was attended by the Cape Coast Area pastorate and their wives, presiding elders and ministry leaders in the Area, and other representatives from the various districts, including Evangelism Ministry Executive Committee members and church members.

Teshie Nungua Area Launches ‘One Member One Discipled Soul’ Project

The Teshie Nungua Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Wilberforce Nkrumah-Agyeman, has launched the Area’s ‘One Member; One Discipled Soul’ project with a call on Christians to aggressively preach the Gospel to rescue others from spiritual bondage, oppression, and the pressures of this world. 

“Many people are in bondage and, we, as Christians, need to proclaim the word of God to them to save them because the Word carries power,” the Area Head said during the launch of the project on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at the Agnes Boahemaa Gyimah Temple. The event drew representatives from all 26 districts in the Area.

Speaking on the topic “Causing Heaven to Rejoice” with Luke 15:7 as scripture reference, Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman said it will be a glorious and joyous day for every soul-winner who makes it to heaven because God has great rewards in store for those who lead others into the saving knowledge of Christ.

He, therefore, charged Christians to be actively involved in the One Member Discipled Soul project by passionately proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ so that others who are perishing would be saved.

He also urged participants to launch the project at their respective districts and local assemblies and encourage members to engage in aggressive evangelism.

As part of the strategies outlined for the project, the Area Head revealed that members who are able to lead ten souls or more to Christ in November would be honoured at area gatherings and presented with special awards by the area leadership. This, he said, would encourage others to follow their example.

The month of November has been declared an ‘Aggressive Evangelism Month’ by The Church of Pentecost with a call on Christians, particularly Church members, to preach the gospel message with urgency and fervently intercede for lost souls in prayer.

Berekum Area Marks EVACON 2021 With Mammoth Rally

The Berekum Area of The Church of Pentecost, on Saturday, October 30, 2021, held a mega rally to celebrate this year’s Evangelism Conference of the church dubbed: “EVACON 2021.”

In all, over 1,044 delegates from the 34 districts in the Area converged at Berekum Ahenbronoso Central Auditorium of the church for the conference.

Addressing the mammoth gathering, the Area Head, Apostle Samuel Berko, charged the delegates to develop godly enthusiasm for aggressive evangelism and church planting.

Speaking on the topic, “Rapid Church Growth Through Home Churches” (Matthew 9:36-38), Apostle Berko said: “when we lose many of our new converts when we add them to the church right away. But when we gather them in home churches, they can be nurtured into maturity and we can account for them.”

Apostle Samuel Berko iterated the vision of the Berekum Area to open 100 assemblies and 200 home churches by the end of 2021. At this point, the Area Head launched the Triplet Evangelistic Campaigns: “Operation One Member, One Discipled Soul (1M1DS), Operation Open 100 Home Churches in November 2021 and HUM Nation Possessors.”

PIWC-Tesano Donates To Orphans

The Pentecost International Worship Centre, Tesano (PIWC-Tesano) in the Achimota Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated items worth GH¢6,600.00 to the Echoing Hills Village, an orphanage located at Madina in the Greater-Accra Region. 

The donated included bags of rice, beans, gari, boxes of toothpaste, Dettol, Parazone, gallons of liquid soap, bags of washing powder, tissues, assorted drinks, toilet rolls, cooking oil, water, Children’s Bibles, and an undisclosed amount of money.

The items were presented last Sunday during a visit to the orphanage by the Church. The church delegation was led by the District Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Selina Nkansah, and Mrs Grace Eghan (wife of the resident minister) as well as Elders Frank Nkansah and Joesph Obiri-Yeboah, presiding elders of the English and Akan assemblies of the Worship Centre, respectively.

Deaconess Nkansah, in a brief exhortation, encouraged and assured the orphans and their caregivers of the endless love of God for them. 

She also said the Church’s benevolent act was inspired by James 1:27, which says: “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” 

Presenting the items to officials of the home, Mrs Eghan prayed that the items go a long way to support the operations of the orphanage. She also sought God’s blessings for all who contributed in diverse ways to make the donation possible.

The children and caregivers of the home expressed profound gratitude and joy to the Church for the show of love.

Echoing Hills Village was established about 30 years ago to provide accommodation, care, and education for disabled and abled orphans. The orphanage has 38 children, of whom 23 have disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, and down syndrome.

Mepe District Organises Mock Examination For BECE Candidates

The Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM) of the Mepe District in the Sogakope Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a mock examination for final-year students in the district preparing to sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) this year.

According to the District Minister, Overseer Frederick Dzamesi, academic performances recorded in the district in the past have not been the best, hence the initiative of the SOM to help the students prepare adequately for the upcoming examination. 

He said that the exercise would help the students assess themselves and also build their confidence ahead of the final exam.

The mock examination covered the four core subjects: English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies. 

A total of 54 students in the district took part in the examination.

The leadership of the Church is hopeful that the intervention would help students pass this year’s exam with flying colours.

Ho Area Ends EVACON 2021

The Evangelism Ministry Conference 2021 (EVACON 2021) which started on Thursday, 28th October 2021, successfully ended on Saturday, 30th October 2021 at El-Bethel Prayer Centre of The Church of Pentecost in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.

Present at the closing ceremony were the Ho Area Head and Executive Council Member, Apostle Dr. Dela Quampah, and his Mrs. Comfort; the Sogakope Area Head, Apostle Isaac Tetteh Juddah; Elder Seth Yaw Peasa (National Executive Committee Member of the Evangelism Ministry), the Ho Area Pastorate and their wives, officers and participants.

Speaking to the topic, “Aggressive Evangelism,” Apostle Dr. Dela Quampah said that the Holy Spirit can take any person and use him no matter their position, saying, “The Holy Spirit takes time and processes. He takes out the bad and transforms the chosen and gives gifts.”

He explained that regular use of the gifts leads to maturation of the gifts, but non-usage of the gifts leads to rust.

Taking his main scriptural references from Galatians 5: 22- 23, 1 Corinthians 12: 4-11, Exodus 28: 31-35, he taught that gold attracts and pomegranates depict human nature. “Therefore, the Holy Spirit working in man attracts him to all eyes and ears,” he stressed.

The Area Head advised pastors to preach good character messages to their congregations.

Speaking about prophetic evangelism, he explained that the Holy Spirit anoints and empowers, and opens the eyes of the unbeliever to accept the gospel.

He prayed that the anointing of God will come upon the participants and that their eyes will be opened to see spiritual happenings.

He entreated the participants to see and maximise evangelistic opportunities wherever they find themselves. He gave the example of Jesus and the Samaritan woman.

Talking about Power Evangelism, Apostle Dr. Dela Quampah mentioned that evangelists are endowed with the power gift to manifest the power in the word of God.

He asked the participants to spread the Word of restoration to the world for eternal life.

Apostle Isaac Tetteh Juddah, on his part, took the participants through a time of prayer and charged participants to go and exercise their gifts.

Spiritual Gifts A Game-Changer In Christian Evangelism – IMD

The International Missions Director (IMD) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, has stressed the importance of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the propagation of the gospel in contemporary times.

According to him, the nine charismatic gifts – Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Discerning of Spirit, Prophecy, Speaking in different kinds of tongues, Interpretation of tongues, Faith, Working of miracles and Gifts of healing – are a ‘game-changer’ in the Church’s effort to evangelise the world and ‘possess’ nations.

The IMD said this last Friday when he joined participants of the Ashaiman/Tema Zone for the final day of the Evangelism Conference (EVACON).

Speaking on the topic ‘Spiritual Gifts’ based on 1 Corinthians 12, Apostle Bekoe mentioned that there are three main models in Christian evangelism. He said the first is the ‘Jesus-Samaritan Woman’ model (John 4), where the evangelist proclaims the gospel on a person-to-person basis, otherwise known as Personal Evangelism or Witnessing. The second, he noted, is the ‘Day of Pentecost’ model (Acts 2:1-42), where the evangelist proclaims the gospel to a crowd, also known as Mass Evangelism.

He further revealed that the ‘Spiritual Gifts’ model, which is the third approach, is where believers demonstrate the supernatural ability of God to unbelievers, making it easier for them to believe in the existence of the Almighty God and the testimony of His son, Jesus Christ.

Apostle Bekoe, therefore, urged Christians to constantly seek the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Church to augment their personal and mass evangelism efforts.

Inasmuch as Christians desire spiritual or charismatic gifts, the IMD also urged them to equally yearn to bear the Fruit of the Spirit (Character) since the latter helps to put the former in check.

He said: “There is a reason why the spiritual gifts and the Fruit of the Spirit are both nine in number. It is because every spiritual gift (Charisma) has a corresponding fruit (Christ-like character) to protect it from possible abuse.”

“So you cannot only possess the Charisma and not the Character. They must go together. Having one without the other is like a bird with one wing. But with both (Charisma and Character), the Church would fly and soar high!” he added.

This year’s Evangelism Conference (EVACON), which was themed “A Revived Church in an Aggressive Evangelism and Informed Intercession” (Ezekiel 37:1-10), took place from October 27 to 30, 2021 at various centres nationwide.

Let Your Light Shine – Chairman Nyamekye Tells Christians

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has made a passionate call on Christians all over the world to strive to be the light of the world.

He made the call when delivering a sermon titled: “Let your light shine” during the climax of the 60th Anniversary celebrations of The Lord’s Pentecostal Church at Kwashieman in Accra.

He revealed that the life of Jesus Christ is the light of the world and that anyone who believes in Him automatically has the life that gives light.

Quoting Scriptures from Matthew 5:14-16, Apostle Nyamekye said: “Throughout the New Testament, the followers of Jesus are called to be lights with the responsibility to dispel darkness. When Christians hide their lights, they are harming the world with darkness. What benefits are you bringing to the world as a born-again Christian?”

According to him, no one puts a lamp under a bowl because a lamp is designed to help people see in dark places, adding that, followers of Jesus Christ must be determined to give lights to those around them through their deeds.

“By growing in relationship with Jesus every day, following Him step by step, we partner with Him in spreading His light for the world,” he explained.

He added: “We live in a dark world, full of lies, hate and confusion. However, God’s Word tells us to “cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.”

Christian Leaders Must Take Risk – Apostle Nana Ofori

The Mankessim Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle James Nana Ofori, has called on church leaders not to fear taking risks to advance the work of God. 

He made the call during a retreat organised by the Dunkwa Area of The Church of Pentecost under the theme: “A Glorious Church Leader: Are You Revived to Possess the Nations?” (Ephesians 4: 11-12).

The retreat, held between October 12 and 15, 2021, at the zonal level, sought to renew the spiritual strength of officers and whip up the passion of ministers and their wives as well as church leaders to do the work of God with great zeal.

Quoting from Matthew 9:35-37 and preaching on the topic; “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few,” Apostle Nana Ofori said that leadership is crucial to the growth of the church and the expansion of the Kingdom of God. He stated that Jesus Christ needs more leaders to manage the great harvest of souls in this generation.

According to him, God calls people to fulfill His eternal purpose on earth because He works through men, saying, “God’s ability to reap the harvest of souls is dependent on good leaders in the church.”

The Mankessim Area Head outlined three kinds of church leaders, namely caretaker leaders, undertaker leaders, and risk-taker leaders. He defined caretaker leaders as church leaders who do not make effort to bring spiritual growth and increase to the church and the flock. 

“They keep what they were handed to and hand over the same in value, in quality and quantity back to their superiors,” he stated.

Undertaker leaders, on the other hand, he explained, are leaders who do not make effort to keep and maintain what was handed over to them but bring spiritual retardation and backwardness to the church flocks.

According to him, undertaker church leaders use their actions, character, and sometimes their sarcastic statements to send the flocks away from the church and do not care about them. He charged leaders at all levels of the church to desist from such character.

Apostle Nana Ofori admonished his hearers to be risk-taker leaders because risk-takers leaders are those who take risks and rise to the task. “Risk-taker leaders are positive-minded, filled with wisdom, and have passion for God’s work. They add value and make greater contributions to the growth of the church, and are fruitful in all things,” he stressed. 

He added: “God wants us to be fruitful and hate slothfulness.”

The occasion was spiced up with an ordination service of some officers in the Area.
