Pastor Johnny Peprah Donates Laptops To Ministerial Students

The Assistant Registrar at Pentecost School of Theology and Missions (PSTM) of Pentecost University (PU), Pastor Johnny Lartey Peprah, has donated laptops to 15 ministerial students of the institution.

According to him, the Lord laid on his heart to purchase laptops for the students who did not have some for their studies. He advised the ministerial students to use the laptops effectively to support their studies.

Pastor Peprah donated the laptops recently at the just-ended Commencement Retreat for students and faculty members of the Pentecost School of Theology and Missions at the Gomoa Fetteh campus.

Speaking on the topic, “Sacrificial Giving and Tithing: Jehovah Jireh,” Pastor Peprah called on believers to quickly obey God’s word just as Abraham did, saying, “God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s provision.”

Reflecting on divine sacrifices in the Bible, Pastor Peprah said that Christians have been called to inherit the kingdom of God. He added that the significance of sacrifices is to transfer an asset from physical to spiritual, transform an asset from earthly to the divine, make the secular sacred (sanctification), establish covenant relationships, multiply assets by divine action, and invocate divine interventions.

Imitate Christ To Make Impact – Mrs Kumi-Larbi Admonishes Christians

Imitate Christ To Make Impact – Mrs Kumi-Larbi Admonishes Christians

The wife of the General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Mrs Rose Dansoa Kumi-Larbi, has admonished members of the Church to reposition themselves to imitate Christ in their lives to make a maximum impact in society.

Mrs Kumi-Larbi said this during the Agormanya Area 2023 ‘Begin With Jesus’ Retreat, held from January 4-6, 2023, at the Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya.

Preaching on the topic, “Reposition To Have Maximum Impact,” the wife of the General Secretary charged both officers and members of the church to bear fruits that will attract the blessings of God.

She used John 15:1-10, Colossians 2:7, Jeremiah 31:4-5, and Isaiah 3:14 as Bible references.

Narrating how Israel was destroyed by God for not bearing fruits, she admonished believers to dissociate themselves from any activity that does not bring glory to God in their lives.

“After being born again, God is expecting Christians to demonstrate the character and the virtues of Jesus Christ in every sphere of their lives,” she stated.

She explained that one cannot claim to be a Christian and continue to practice evil, wicked and corruptible practices, saying, “You cannot be in your old nature and please God.”

She urged Christians to renew their minds, be born again, and reposition themselves to remain humble in Christ.

“If you do not allow yourself to be born again, there is no way you will be accepted by God,” she stressed.

Mrs Kumi-Larbi further called on Christians to remain in Christ by allowing the nature of Christ to reflect in their day-to-day activities.

She added: “To abide in Christ is to take God’s word, walk in it and do what pleases Him. Just as a branch cannot bear fruits on its own, believers cannot also bear fruits on their own unless they reposition themselves to abide in Him.”

The wife of the General Secretary charged believers to be God-fearing, humble, faithful, bear righteous fruits, be godly in their business ventures, avoid deceit, and be Christ-minded.

“Since God has called us and given us His righteousness, let this righteousness be in us because we share the DNA of Jesus Christ as believers,” she pointed out.

Concluding the sermon, Mrs Rose Kumi-Larbi asked members to stay in the church, be actively involved in church activities, and allow God to prune them out of outmoded cultural practices that fight against His Word.

Wa Area Chieftaincy Ministry Launched

Wa Area Chieftaincy Ministry Launched

It was a great gathering of splendid royalty when Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, the National Co-ordinator of the Chieftaincy Ministry of The Church of Pentecost who also doubles as an Executive Council Member of the church and Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), launched the Wa Area Chieftaincy Ministry.

Apostle Anane Denteh reiterated that the Chieftaincy Ministry is part of the Vision 2023 initiatives of the church. The ministry, he said, aims at partnering with chiefs for community development, peace-building, and to foster chaplaincy at the palaces.

In a sermon titled, “Divine Order for Kings,” Apostle Anane Denteh read from Proverbs 16:10-15; 14:35; 22:29 and established that traditional rulership was established by God to provide leadership to communities and to care for God’s creation.

He challenged both royals and their subjects to live righteous lives to inure to the development of their communities. He also called for the need to uphold cultural values that please God and review those that do not.

Apostle Anane Denteh explained that there is a close working relationship between chiefs and the church, saying, “The subjects of the chiefs are also members of the church.”

He disclosed that Pentecost University will soon commence Chieftaincy Studies. He, therefore, challenged royals to take advantage of the academic programme.

In his welcome address, the Wa Area Head of the church, Apostle Daniel Nii Tetteh Tackie, said that the Chieftaincy Ministry concept is in line with the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda of The Church of Pentecost. He was full of praise to the chiefs for partnering with the Wa Area and The Church of Pentecost in many beneficial ways.

Naa Dikomwine Domalae, Chief of Daffiamah Traditional Area who doubles as the President of the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs, recalled an earlier engagement between The Church of Pentecost Chieftaincy Ministry and the National House of Chiefs on 21st December 2022 and expressed delight that the National Chieftaincy Coordinator was in the Upper West Region for the Wa Area launch.

The President of the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs requested that the launch should also be done at the district and community levels.

He encouraged leadership of the church to demonstrate fortitude and patience should they encounter resistance to their effort at the palaces. He pledged his support to the novel Chieftaincy Studies at the Pentecost University and indicated the readiness of chiefs in the area to enroll when admission opens.

Naa Puowele Karbo III, the Chief of Lawra Traditional Area who is also the Vice President of Upper West Regional House of Chiefs as well as the Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, said that though the chieftaincy institution is one of the critical institutions for the development of the nation, it remains the least resourced.

He commended The Church of Pentecost for the recognition and pledged his support for the initiative. He stressed the need for the church to assign competent persons who could facilitate the ministry to the palace since there could be conflicting beliefs between the gospel and some aspects of culture.

“We are ready to work with you, but if you bring people who tell us that our culture is demonic and the white man’s culture is the best, we will not listen to you. Bring us people who can engage,” he said.

Tiisah Naa Zakaria Abdul Aziz, the Representative of Wa Naa, on his part, said that there has been a long-standing relationship between The Church of Pentecost and Wa Naa palace, and expressed the appreciation of the overlord for the sustained relationship. He taunted the Chieftaincy Ministry initiative as timely and called for the support of all.

The Committee Members of the newly launched Wa Area Chieftaincy Ministry are Pastor Kofi Adu Sarfo (Co-ordinator), Elder Adams Bacho (Vice Co-ordinator), and Elder Akanvariwon (Secretary).
