Bolga District Organises Mass Wedding For 7 Couples

The Bolga District in the Bolga Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised its maiden mass marriage blessing service for seven couples.

The colourful event took place on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Central auditorium, Bolgatanga.

The ceremony was heavily attended by members of the church and non-members within the Bolga Municipality and its environs, relatives of the couples and friends from the Muslim community.

Also, in attendance were; the Area Head, Apostle David Amamkwaa, and his wife, Mrs. Rosemond Amankwaa, Area Executive members, the pastorate and their wives and officers.

The Area Head, who officiated the service, congratulated the couples and urged other couples to emulate their example.

In a remark, the District Minister, Pastor Sarpong Aguyire, stated that, the purpose of the event was to help couples to regularize their marriages and allow them to enjoy the privileges that come with it.

Pastor Michael Agbadze, in delivering the sermon under the Theme: “Marriage and Family Life: A Call to Serve” with reference from Matthew 19:10-12, Ephesians 5:15-17 explained God’s purpose for marriage and the responsibilities of married couples.

“If marriage is a calling, then it is a call to fulfill God’s purpose,” he said.

According to him, marriage is God’s method to; reveal the mystical union of Christ with His church to the world (Ephesians 5:31-32), illustrate His love which transcends all things to the world (Romans 5:8), populate the earth with spirit-filled, spirit led God-fearing people (Matthew 5:13-14), establish His kingdom here on earth (Titus 2:7-10) and see to it that His divine will is done here on earth (Ephesians 3:10).

He concluded on the note that “for God and the responsibilities in marriage, marriage must be viewed, accepted and entered into with the understanding that one is called to serve in it.”

The ceremony was successfully graced with a closing prayer from Mrs. Rosemond Amankwaa and a warm benediction from the Area Head.
