Unleash The Church To Arrest The Ills Of The World – Church Leaders Told

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has urged Christian leaders to consciously unleash their church members to transform the world and its systems with the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.

Speaking at the launch of the 2024 theme of the Church during the Heads’ meeting at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Apostle Nyamekye stated, “The only remedy for the ills and troubles of the world today lies at the doors of the church, for we are the light of the world.”

According to him, the full potential of the church would manifest through its rise, and that if the church fails to rise, darkness will cover the earth.

Apostle Nyamekye further stated that it would be an anathema for the church to remain silent and merely rejoice in the Lord rising upon her.

“The Church, like Zion, should be concerned about her friends; the light of the world is within the Church,” he emphasised.

Quoting from Isaiah 60 and 61:1 and 21, the Chairman expounded that when the church, the light of the world and salt of the earth, remains silent, society lingers in darkness, ignorance, poverty, and moral decadence.

Apostle Nyamekye bemoaned the inactivity of the church in influencing the outside world when ‘the church has unraveled power to address the ills and troubles of the world today.’

Observing that the church is in a deep sleep, he described the situation as the ‘Church’s courage has been plagued with cowardice.”

He called on Church leaders to recognise that the mandate of the church is to avert decay wherever it is found.

The Chairman also proposed that the Church does not need new denominations or conferences but fire to unleash her.

“If we can awaken and unleash the tremendous power warmed up in the Church, Christianity will explode with unprecedented growth,” he remarked.

Placing the Church in her right context, Apostle Nyamekye stressed that the Church is a strategic orchestration of God to achieve His divine purposes and plans.

He observed that the Church is the conduit through which the manifold wisdom of God is revealed and the mysteries of redemption expressed. “The whole universe is waiting for us,” he charged.

Enumerating the core task of the Church, Chairman Nyamekye indicated that the church is the avenue to train Kingdom-minded people to unleash them into the world to make God famous again.

He said this role called for unleashing the church with a violent force that cannot be resisted, controlled, or hindered.

Revealing the theme for 2024 as “A People Unleashed to Transform Their World,” Apostle Nyamekye explained ‘unleashing the Church’ to mean ‘a call to every member of the local church to be involved in some form of ministry (service) outside the four walls of the Church with the sole aim of projecting the values and principles of the Kingdom of God in their spheres.’

He made a fervent call on Christians to take up this mandate to positively affect everywhere they are with the true light of the Kingdom of God, emphasising that the kind of culture that rules the world is the culture determined by the generation of Christians.

“The effect of the Church’s light will influence the culture that rules the world,” he mentioned.

Catch Vision 2028 And Run With It

The Vision 2028 was clearly unveiled,

Strategies carefully outlined and actions well detailed,

And it’s timely message engaged and rightly nailed,

For a time bound mission that cannot fail.

These are not words that appeal to the ears

But a message that brings grace to the hearers

Backed by great power to the bearers,

Raising strong pillars for God to become winners,

And transforming all spheres in societies.

Come on, church, come on all nations.

The LORD is gathering His gallant soldiers,

An equipped army not after the world’s pleasures,

But to preach the message of the cross and it’s treasures.

See the fearless generation that match across all borders,

A people that send the message to even toddlers,

For the vision they effortlessly carry on their shoulders,

Until all and sundry become partakers,

And the lost and wanderer become brothers.

The vision has been clearly defined,

The foundations have been strongly laid,

Timelines and deadlines have been set,

The strategies have been mounted and

The church has been thoroughly equipped,

And unleashed for the greater task ahead.

As heralds, they impact and transform their world.

Indeed, all is set to run with the vision 2028

Rise up and catch the divine vision,

For the world is sinking in illusion,

Where pluralism and worldviews promote delusion,

And dying and desperate souls seek liberation.

Rise up and raise His banner of salvation,

For the vision cannot wait while souls perish in anguish.

Rise up and transform your world,

For it’s is our time to serve the LORD’S purpose.

Catch the vision and run with it, for greater is the reward that awaits us.

Catch the vision and run with it, for judgment awaits us tomorrow for what we believe, what we stand for and what has been entrusted into our hands.

Catch the vision and run with it, for it is time bound and cannot wait or delay.

UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ENJOYING YOUR YOUTH & DESTROYING YOUR FUTURE web

Understanding The Difference Between Enjoying Your Youth & Destroying Your Future

“Your youth is a canvas of adventure; paint it with memories, not regrets.”

ENJOYING YOUR YOUTH

In the boundless tapestry of life, youth is the most vibrant thread, woven with dreams, adventures, and an undying spirit of exploration. It’s a time when the world stretches before us like an open road, beckoning us to embark on cheering journeys. Our hearts beat to the rhythm of freedom, and laughter dances in the air. But amid this cheering dance with youth, there exists an unstable question, one that whispers in the quiet moments when the music fades: Are we crafting a life worth celebrating or sowing the seeds of our own regret? This question, as age-old as time itself, forms the heart of our exploration today. We find ourselves at the crossroads of pleasure and responsibility, faced with the mysterious dichotomy of enjoying our youth and preserving our future. It’s a journey that touches the very essence of human existence—a quest to uncover the fine line between embracing the present and securing what lies ahead.

Join me as we navigate this intricate terrain, where moments of reckless abandon can collide with the weight of our aspirations. We’ll navigate through stories of happiness and despair, drawing valuable insights to discern the difference between celebrating youth and unwittingly sabotaging our tomorrows. Welcome to the profound exploration of “Understanding the Difference Between Enjoying Your Youth and Destroying Your Future.”

To enjoy your youth means embracing the unique phase of life when you are typically free from the heavy responsibilities and burdens that adulthood often brings. It’s a time of exploration, self-discovery, and unbridled enthusiasm for new experiences. Let us consider some key aspects of what it means to enjoy your youth:

  • Living in the Moment: Youth is the time to relish the present, to fully engage in the experiences, relationships, and opportunities that come your way without being overly burdened by concerns about the distant future. It’s about cherishing the “now.”
  • Adventure and Exploration: It often involves taking risks, exploring new places, and trying new things. Whether it’s backpacking across continents, starting a new hobby, or simply being open to new experiences, youth is a time for adventure.
  • Freedom from Major Responsibilities: Typically, youth come with fewer financial, familial, and career obligations compared to later stages of life. This freedom allows you to be spontaneous and take calculated risks.

DESTROYING YOUR FUTURE

While enjoying your youth is undoubtedly important, it’s equally vital to strike a balance between living in the moment and preparing for the future. This balance is where the challenge lies, as excessive indulgence or recklessness during this period can potentially have long-term consequences. Understanding this fine line is essential to ensure that the pleasures of youth do not come at the expense of your future well-being and success. Let us again delve into the consequences of two contrasting paths: thoroughly enjoying your youth and unintentionally destroying your future. Let us examine the choices made during this vibrant phase of life and how they can shape the trajectory of one’s existence.

  • Health Implications: Excessive enjoyment of one’s youth, often fueled by heavy drinking and substance abuse, can exact a severe toll on one’s health. Alcohol drinking, for instance, can result in alcohol poisoning, blackouts, among others. These health repercussions not only endanger your immediate well-being but can have long-lasting effects on your physical and mental health.
  • Academic and Career Setbacks: Engaging in reckless behavior and impulsivity can lead to procrastination and poor decision-making. This may manifest as neglecting academic responsibilities, resulting in lower grades, or failing to meet professional obligations, potentially leading to job loss or missed career opportunities.
  • Financial Instability: Impulsive spending is another potential outcome of recklessness and impulsivity. Making rash financial decisions, such as overspending on non-essential items or accumulating debt, can lead to financial strain and future insecurity.
  • Missed Opportunities for Growth: Impulsive actions may prevent you from investing time and effort in personal growth, skill development, and goal achievement. Turning down opportunities for internships, volunteer work, or educational pursuits in favor of impromptu adventures can hinder long-term prospects.
  • Long-Term Impact on Future Goals: The cumulative impact of these negative consequences can derail long-term aspirations, making it challenging to recover and achieve personal goals. Constant partying and risky behavior can divert focus away from building a successful career, leading to missed opportunities for advancement.

STRIKING THE BALANCE

This is not to say one should not enjoy life and all the good things God brings in the present. You can enjoy your youth to the fullest without destroying your future if you consider the following:

  • Set Goals: Think about what you want to achieve in the future and set goals to help you get there. This can include academic, career, and personal goals.
  • Manage Your Time: Make sure to balance your social life with your responsibilities. Use a planner or calendar to keep track of your schedule and prioritize your tasks.
  • Make Responsible Choices: Think about the consequences of your actions before making a decision. Avoid engaging in risky behaviors and surround yourself with positive influences.
  • Seek Help If Needed: If you’re struggling with mental health issues or addiction, seek help from a professional. Don’t be afraid to ask for support from friends and family.

In the grand narrative of life, youth stands as a vibrant, captivating chapter filled with moments of sheer exuberance and boundless possibility. However, it is a chapter intertwined with a profound dichotomy; the tension between savoring the delights of youth and ensuring that these pleasures do not unwittingly sow the seeds of a future filled with regrets and setbacks. Our exploration of this delicate balance reveals that, indeed, both paths have their consequences. The wisdom of our journey lies in understanding that life is a harmonious blend of youthful enthusiasm and measured responsibility. Striking this balance necessitates making informed choices, learning from our mistakes, seeking guidance when needed, and setting clear goals that harmonize with our passions. This equilibrium ensures that the vibrant experiences of youth enrich our life’s journey rather than hinder it.

CONCLUSION

In closing, the tapestry of life finds its beauty in the juxtaposition of moments cherished and responsibilities met. It is in the ability to treasure the present while carefully tending to the seeds of the future. The path is clear: understand the difference between enjoying your youth and potentially harming your future, and navigate it with purpose, wisdom, and unbridled enthusiasm. In doing so, we craft a life that is not merely lived but celebrated—a life where youth and the promise of tomorrow dance together, creating a symphony of fulfillment and prosperity.

“Sakaman for Christ” Mega Crusade Yields 23 Souls

The Sakaman District in the Dansoman Area of The Church of Pentecost recently concluded a three-day evangelistic outreach, titled “Sakaman for Christ Crusade,” held from October 18 to October 20, 2023. Organized under the leadership of Pastor Isaac Ennin Quaicoe, the Sakaman District Minister, the event took place at the Blue Lagoon Park in Sakaman, a suburb of Accra, and focused on the theme “Jesus Christ the Savior, Healer, and Sanctifier – Acts 10:38.”

Pastor Ennin opened the crusade with the gospel message, emphasizing Jesus’ ability to save, heal, and sanctify as depicted in Acts 10:38. Elder Albert Narh, a coopted member of the National Executive Committee of the Evangelism Ministry, took the stage on the second day, proclaiming Jesus as humanity’s greatest gift and expounding on His mission based on Luke 4:18-19.

Elder Narh elaborated on Jesus’ role as the Healer, explaining the process of confessing and accepting Christ for justification, leading to sanctification. Stressing the importance of salvation through Jesus, he concluded with a personal testimony of God’s mighty deliverance and urged all present to receive the offer of salvation and be born again.

On the third day, Pastor Hayford Nsiah Yatimboh shared a testimony of how he was miraculously healed and emphasized Jesus as the only savior who can deliver humanity from the bondage of sin. To the glory of God, the crusade recorded 23 souls, with 13 individuals undergoing water baptism. One of the new converts received Holy Spirit baptism. To establish them in the faith, the Church has initiated plans to assist the remaining souls in receiving water and Holy Spirit baptism.

Redemption Assembly Organises Free Health Screening, Undertakes Blood Donation Exercise web

Redemption Assembly Organises Free Health Screening, Undertakes Blood Donation Exercise

The Redemption Assembly in the Yennyawoso District of The Church of Pentecost on Sunday, November 12, 2023, organised free health screening for Church members and donated blood to stock the blood bank to help save lives.

The event, which attracted a high turnout, including residents and non-members of the Church, was undertaken in collaboration with the Kumasi South Regional Hospital.

The exercise was carried out by a team of experienced medical professionals, who conducted thorough examinations using advanced techniques.

The patrons were screened for various health conditions such as Hepatitis B and C, Diabetes, Prostrate enlargement, Hypertension (Blood Pressure), Malaria, Typhoid, HIV/AIDS, Syphilis, among others, as the health officials educated them on healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare.

Speaking in an interview with PENTECOST NEWS on the sidelines of the event, the Presiding Elder of the Redemption Assembly, Elder Philip Kwaku Boateng, disclosed that the free medical screening was inspired by 3 John 1:2, as Apostle John even prayed for good health for Christians. He indicated that it is not just enough to concentrate only on  spiritual well-being of members at the expense of their physical well-being. Rather, he noted, both must be treated on equal basis, underscoring the importance of good health in one’s Christian and social life.

Elder Kwaku Boateng, who was among the donors, further noted that the blood donation exercise is in line with the Church’s “Possessing the Nations” agenda, which enjoins members to influence their spheres with the values and principles of the Kingdom of God. He, therefore, urged other churches and corporate bodies to leverage on donating blood willingly to save lives.

In all, 28 pints of blood were donated to the Kumasi South Regional Hospital to help save lives.

As part of the event, all the donors were given packs of milo, tins of milk, and some drinks as tokens of appreciation.

The event, which took place at the church auditorium, also presented an opportunity to share the Gospel message of Jesus Christ with the patrons, especially the residents and non-members of the Church.

Jesus Will Surely Come Again! web

Jesus Will Surely Come Again!  – Apostle James Quardson Assures

The Sunyani Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle James Gabriel Quardson, has assured believers that the prophecy about the second-coming of Jesus is reliable and should be earnestly desired and believed.

In a sermon titled “Jesus is Coming, So Wait for His Appearing” at the 2023 Heads’ Meeting of the Church at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) near Gomoa Fetteh, Apostle Quardson stated that whenever a sinner encounters the gospel message, a profound understanding of Christ as a Saviour, Healer, Sanctifier, and Soon-coming King takes hold of the individual’s heart.

“This knowledge, when well understood and accepted, changes the behaviour of the receiver,” he expressed.

Describing the appearance of Jesus as an integral part of the gospel message, he indicated that the second coming of Jesus is of dual nature, further elaborating that Jesus shall either come to meet His people, or His people will join Him.

He reiterated that the prophetic message is reliable, and Jesus will definitely fulfill His part. Thus, he admonished, “It is not so much about His coming really but our readiness for Him.”

He stressed that the forebears of the Church understood this message and lived their lives accordingly. “They lived as if He was coming tomorrow and thus did not bother themselves much with the things of the world,” he said.

He mentioned that, though Jesus emphasised His ascension several times in His interactions with the disciples, when it happened, they were surprised by its sudden nature.

He disclosed that it took two angels to remind and encourage them that He would come back. “This motivated them, and they were always careful with their lives and tried to please their Lord.”

Apostle Quardson, referencing 1 John 3:2–3, advised that the message of the second coming of Jesus must be believed because that births purity in the believer.

He warned that “because we, of today, have not positioned our lives so well, we may be people who confess the belief that ‘once saved, forever saved’ and live our lives anyhow.”

Touching on 2 Timothy 4:8, he added that believers need to yearn and earnestly long for His coming. “We need to always desire it; it is linked to the crown of righteousness we are going to receive.”

Apostle Quardson pointed to 1 Corinthians 16:22 that the second coming must be the love of believers. “What you love makes you happy and drives you for action,” he said.

He reiterated that the church has to be intentional for action. “We should be positioned in the move of waiting for His coming because it will be spontaneous. Let us always be in readiness, always looking up to His coming,” he said.

The five-day Heads’ meeting will discuss the five-year vision of The Church of Pentecost on the theme: “Possessing the Nations (Phase II) – Unleashing the Whole Church to Transform their World with the Values and Principles of the Kingdom of God” and also unveil the annual theme of the church for the year 2024.

Ho Area Organises Maiden Farmers’ Day Celebrations web

Ho Area Organises Maiden Farmers’ Day Celebrations

The Ho Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Dela Quampah, has organised an event to celebrate and reward the hardworking farmers in the area.

The inaugural Farmers’ Day Celebrations took place at the forecourt of the Central Assembly in Sokode Gborgame District on November 11, 2023.  The theme of the celebration was “Repositioning the Living Standards of Members Through Agriculture”.

The event aimed to honour and appreciate farmers for their significant contributions to the country’s development. It also highlighted the importance of agriculture in improving the living standards of church members.

This maiden event is a testament to the tremendous contribution made by our hardworking farmers and an emphasis of their crucial role they play in our nation’s development.

Speaking on behalf of the Ho Area Head, Apostle Semenya Yao Dogbe, the Hohoe Area Head, said this maiden Famers Day Celebration pioneered by Ho Area was visionary and exemplary. He added that the celebration first and foremost express gratitude to God creator of the universe who sustains, nourishes, and ensures the fruitfulness in farming.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Area PENTSOS Chairman, Pastor Cosmos Abi, who is the originator of the idea of the celebration, said the day served as a reminder of the crucial role played by farmers in ensuring food security, economic growth, and the financial stability of both the church and the nation. It highlighted the importance of standing in solidarity with farmers and appreciating their sacrifices and hard work.

“Agriculture plays a vital role in the socio-economic development of Ghana. The Region’s economy is mainly rural and dominated by agriculture and employs about 74% of the economically active population,” he said.

He bemoaned low incomes have made farming less attractive to the youth who form majority of the population of the church. This has led to the migration of potential leaders and officers of the local church to the urban cities seeking for greener pastures, creating Acute Leadership Deficiency Syndrome (ALDS).

Concluding his remarks, he mentioned the farmers day celebration seeks to improve the living conditions of our members through increasing income levels, food security and general standard of living of members. It also seeks to sell the church to the outside world of what God is doing in His church even as we possess the nations.

He encouraged members to work hard to ensure food security, reduced unemployment, and rural-urban migration.

Eighteen major awards and 22 ground and exhibit awards were given to farmers to appreciate and motivate them. Award categories includes Overall Best farmer, 2nd Best Farmer, 3rd Best Farmer, Best Woman Farmer, Best Livestock Farmer, Best Fish Farmer, Best Root & Tuber Farmer, Best Physically-Challenged farmer, Best youth farmer, and Grounds and exhibits. The award items include Double-deck refrigerators, Chest freezer, knapsack sprayers, Crocodile matchet, wax prints, Key soap bar and radio sets.

Elder Patrick Ahiamale of Ziope District won the Overall Best Farmer award receiving a Double Decker refrigerator, a pair of wellington boots, two cutlasses, a knapsack sprayer, four bars of key soap, a wax print and a certificate.

Brother Godwin Agbo of Sokode Gborgame came second receiving, a tabletop deep freezer, a pair of wellington boots, a cutlass and a certificate.

Deaconess Esinam Agbenyefia of Tsito district came third receiving a Asano 32” Flat screen Television set, two bars of Key Soap, a Cutlass and a certificate. Items were given to all other winners.

Apostle Semenya Yao Dogbe, drawing the curtain down, appreciated Apostle Dr. Dela Quampah for visionary leadership, the Area PENTSOS Chairman, the pastorate, and all dignitaries present at the occasion.

He also encouraged the farmers to increase and double their farmlands and produce to the glory of God.

The colourful and maiden ceremony drew many dignitaries: the Ho Area pastorate, Area Deacon, Area Women’s Ministry Leader, Municipal Chief Executive’s Representative, Sokode Assemblyman, among others.
