A man with a mental ailment received instant healing during an outreach event organised by the Salem District in the Agormanya District of The Church of Pentecost on February 12, 2023, at the Akosombo market.
Narrating the incident to PENTECOST NEWS, the Presiding Elder of the Salem Assembly, Elder Alfred Nhyiraba, said that the leadership of the Assembly, in consultation with the Agormanya District Minister, Pastor Emmanuel Kwabena Tetteh, decided to hold the February Gospel Sunday service in a public space and, therefore, settled on the market space to reach out to more people.
“While preaching during the service, I saw him (the mentally challenged man) standing directly across, facing me and clapping his hands. So, I asked him to come to me. He obliged and knelt before me. I immediately called on the other members present to gather around him and pray for him,” he said.
After a time of prayer, the man got up to his feet and testified that he had been healed.
“He asked for a Bible when he got up. So, quickly, one of the sisters gave her Bible to him. Deacon Michael Amanor, the Local Secretary, whose residence was nearby, took him home to get him some appropriate clothing,” Elder Nyiraba said.
The man has now been completely restored and fellowships with the Salem Assembly. To God be the glory.
Miss Edith Agyekumwaah Adusei, a student of the Pentecost University and member of the Newsite District in the Takoradi Area of The Church of Pentecost, received instant healing after enduring paralysis for two years.
The miraculous incident occurred on Friday, January 20, 2023, during an all-night service organised by the Newsite District Minister, Pastor Victor Asante Darko, to climax the district’s 21-day Fasting and Prayer exercise.
Narrating her ordeal to PENTECOST NEWS, Miss Edith said she began experiencing chills and weakness in her legs in the evening of Sunday, June 13, 2021, which coincided with the climax of the National Youth Week celebration and thanksgiving service.
According to her, when she woke up in the morning, she realised that both legs had swollen. She, therefore, visited the hospital for treatment and was told that she was suffering from hypotension (Low blood pressure).
“I experienced severe pains, which made me unable to walk properly. I became bedridden and developed bed sores as a result. In addition, I lost my appetite and developed sores in my mouth. My condition felt like a mild stroke where I could not handle things myself unless assisted,” she said.
She further revealed that the intensity of the pain led her to undergo further medical tests, CT scans, X-rays, hospital admissions, and apply various medications but to no avail.
“I lost hope; I always felt like I would not make it the next day because of the dreams I was having. I believe this was part of the devil’s schemes to instil fear in me; regardless, I kept my faith, trusted and waited on God to divinely heal and deliver me from this sickness,” she narrated.
Edith said as she waited on the Lord for divine intervention, she participated in various prayer programmes organised by the Church, including the “Roar Half-Night Prayers” and “Virtual Prayers with the Chairman” on Pent TV.
“Before the day of my healing, the Takoradi Area Head, Apostle Semenya Yao Dogbe, and Pastor Asante Darko visited me at home in the evening. The prayers and the word of God greatly encouraged me, and I became convinced that God will heal me at the end of the 21-day programme,” she stressed.
Recounting how the spectacular event happened, Edith said that, during the service, she felt severe pains in her legs – more than she had in the past. She, therefore, asked her mother to assist her to the upper gallery of the church auditorium so she could rest.
“Even though I tried sleeping, I could not; I joined the intercessory prayers due to the pains. Suddenly, I heard a loud voice repeatedly asking me to get up – this happened about nine times. I looked around but realised only children were sleeping, including my sister, who was busily praying. At the tenth time, the voice instructed me to check if I could feel the initial pains in my legs. So, I got up and started doing the things I could not do before, only to realise that I had been healed and regained the ability to walk again,” she recounted.
Edith said she immediately ran to the platform to share with the congregation the wondrous miracle that had taken place.
In her speech, Miss Adusei expressed gratitude to God for the divine touch. She also advised members of the Church to take the Lord’s Supper seriously, saying that the emblems (loafer and wine) always relieved her of her pain anytime she participated in the service.
She also thanked the Takoradi Area Head, Newsite District Minister, her family and the congregation for their immense support, encouragement and prayers during the difficult period.
“Every Christian has to be patient, have faith, trust God and avoid consulting other deities because God does things in His time and season,” she stated.
David Miyiri, a 19-year-old Muslim at Chongayiri in the Savannah Region of Ghana, has been miraculously healed of his hearing and speech impairment.
David, the son of a fetish priest at Tuna, received instant healing after the Soma District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, Overseer Christopher Atuah Yeboah, prayed for him at the district mission house.
According to the district minister, David was led to the mission house by his brother, Philip Chonga.
Narrating his family’s ordeal, Philip said they had tried all possible means, including traditional remedies, to have his brother cured, but to no avail.
“It was my uncle, who is an Elder of the church at Tuna, who advised us to visit the mission house for divine intervention,” he said.
After some time of intensive prayer, David received a divine touch that cause him to hear and speak for the first time in 19 years. He even sang to the glory of God.
Stunned by the miraculous incident, David, his parents and his sibling, Philip, have surrendered their lives to Christ and undergone water baptism.
Mrs. Favour Agbo, a resident of Nsakina, heard about the “Accra for Christ” crusade and decided to attend yesterday’s evening session with her husband. Little did she know that she would leave the event grounds healed of an ulcer she had been enduring for the last eight years.
Mrs. Agbo, a non-member of The Church of Pentecost, shared her story with PENTECOST NEWS after the event.
Narrating her ordeal, Favour said whenever she had a crisis, she felt severe stomach pains making life very unpleasant. According to her, the medications she received from the hospital were only to “manage” the situation.
According to Mrs. Agbo, on her way to the grounds with her husband, she felt an uneasiness usually associated with the condition but was determined to attend the event at all cost.
“When the preacher man said those who were sick should come forward to be prayed for, I went forward in faith. I closed my eyes as he prayed, and the next thing I saw was that I had fallen forcefully to the ground,” she said.
After she got up from the ground, Mrs. Agbo realised that she was feeling much better and also noticed that all the associated symptoms of the condition had left her.
The “Accra for Christ” crusade, which is under the theme: “This Same Jesus” (Acts 1:11), is being jointly held at the Nsakina M/A School Park by the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost and the Anyaa-Ablekuma Area of the Church. The morning sessions are however held at the Oduman Central Assembly church auditorium.
Mrs. Paulina Boako, a member of the Ablekuma Central Assembly of The Church of Pentecost, has been healed of a protracted chest pain she had been experiencing for the last three months.
The 59-year-old mother of three shared her testimony at yesterday’s evening session of the ongoing “Accra for Christ” crusade at the Nsakina M/A School Park in Accra.
In an interview with PENTECOST NEWS on the sidelines of the event, Mrs. Boako said whenever she felt the sharp pain in the chest, she took some painkillers, yet it did not improve. She then visited the hospital for treatment and was given some medications, but that did not help either.
“The medical officer finally gave me Amoxylclav and said that if that did not work, then I would have to undergo an X-ray scanning for further,” she said.
Unfortunately for Paulina, her condition did not improve, but she was also unable to pay for the X-ray due to financial constraints.
“So, I prayed and asked God to heal me since I could not afford the X-Ray,” she said.
Mrs. Boako came to the crusade with her daughter, still enduring the pain.
During the service, the Evangelism Ministry Director, Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin, requested that all those who were sick and needed a divine intervention to step forward to be prayed for.
“My daughter prompted me to go forward, and I did. Right after the prayer, the pain vanished. I no longer feel any pain in my chest. I am healed. The name of the Lord be praised!” she said.
The “Accra for Christ” crusade, which is under the theme “This Same Jesus” (Acts 1:11), is being jointly held by the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost and the Anyaa-Ablekuma Area of the Church.
Six years ago, Mrs. Evelyn Nyame Nyarko survived a car accident. Although her life was spared, Evelyn sustained severe injuries to her left leg. The pains had persisted for all these years until last night when she was miraculously healed during the opening session of the “Accra for Christ” crusade.
Mrs. Nyarko, a member of the Manhean English Assembly of The Church of Pentecost, shared the good news with the thousands gathered at the Nsakina M/A School Park for the event opening.
The four-day outreach, being jointly organised by the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost and the Anyaa-Ablekuma Area, is under the theme: “This Same Jesus” (Acts 1:11).
Speaking to PENTECOST NEWS on the sidelines of the crusade, Mrs. Nyarko said that she had gone to town to get some supplies for her catering business when an unknown person pushed her into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
“The bus knocked me down, and I was caught underneath the vehicle, but the driver was unaware of what had happened, until some bystanders began to shout at him to stop the car because someone was trapped underneath,” she said.
So, they quickly dragged her out and rushed her to the hospital.
Mrs. Nyarko said she received medical treatment at the hospital and had since frequented the hospital for review and treatment.
According to her, despite the many visits to the hospital and application of various ointments for the last six years, she still felt pain anytime she wore heels or stood for some time.
“It is always difficult to sleep. Sometimes I have to bandage my leg before I can sleep. Even just yesterday, I had to bandage my leg before sleeping because of the pain,” she narrated.
Mrs. Nyarko said that when the Evangelism Ministry Director, Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin, called out for persons seeking the miraculous touch of God, she decided to step forward in faith because she needed divine intervention.
“I went forward because six years is a very long time, and I felt that since the doctors cannot help me, then only Jesus can completely heal me of my pain. And lo and behold, He has done it,” she exclaimed.
Mrs. Nyarko and many others who had received instant healing at the event were grateful to God for intervening in their predicaments.
Mrs. Susanna Ameyaw of the Bokabo District of The Church of Pentecost, who had been experiencing excruciating pain in her bones for many years, received instant healing during Day 2 of the “Juaboso for Christ” crusade.
She shared her testimony with the thousands gathered at the Juaboso Town Park for the event, yesterday.
Speaking to PENTECOST NEWSon the sidelines of the event, the mother of five said the condition had made life very unbearable and made it difficult for her to work on her farm, which is the source of her livelihood.
According to her, she would have gone to the hospital to seek medical attention, but for financial constraints. So, when Elder Stephen Awuah Kesse of the Agona Prayer Centre-Tarkwa, called out for persons who needed a touch of God to come forward to be prayed for, she saw that as a golden opportunity and quickly joined many others upfront.
“When the speaker said God is about healing someone of bone disease, I instantly felt that I was the one he was referring to and accepted it by faith. And surely, right after he said the prayer, the pain was gone,” she said.
Madam Susanna, who could not stop thanking God, shed tears of joy for the miracle she had received, saying: “Our God is indeed a good God. He knew I could not afford to go to the hospital for treatment, so He healed me Himself. May His name be praised.”
The “Juaboso for Christ” crusade is being jointly held by the Sefwi Juaboso Area of The Church of Pentecost and the Evangelism Ministry. The event is under the theme: “Jesus, the Only Saviour of the World.” (John 4:42).
Mr. Maxwell Nipa, 22, has been instantly healed of a strange speech disorder.
Maxwell, a member of the Nkwanta Central Assembly of The Church of Pentecost, shared his testimony with congregants who took part in yesterday’s morning session of the ongoing “Sefwi for Christ” crusade.
Narrating his ordeal to PENTECOST NEWS, Maxwell said that two years ago, he experienced a strange pain in his throat which affected his speech. He said that the strange disease had since persisted despite several efforts to have his speech restored.
According to Maxwell, he was admitted to the hospital for treatment but was later discharged because he could not afford the prescriptions.
He said that the situation became severe last Friday, as a result, he could not attend the opening session of the crusade yesterday.
“I made up my mind that by hook or crook, I would participate in this morning’s session of the crusade. So, I am very grateful to God for this miraculous touch,” he said.
The “Sefwi Nkwanta for Christ” is being jointly held by the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost and the Nkwanta District in the Sefwi-Bekwai Area.
The four-day crusade, which is under the theme “In Him Is Life” (John 1:4), commenced on October 18, 2022 at the Tanoso Community Park.
Mr. Joshua Gyebi threatened to divorce his wife, Abigail, over her decision to accept Christ during a film evangelism outreach organised by the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, only to surrender his life to Christ after receiving the gospel message.
It all happened on Wednesday evening (October 12, 2022) when the Evangelism Ministry Advance Team held a film evangelism outreach at Ankra-Muano as part of preliminary activities in preparation towards the “Sefwi Nkwanta for Christ” crusade.
After the session, Mrs. Abigail Gyebi responded to the altar call and, together with others, was led to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal Saviour. Consequently, she and the other converts were transported from the event ground to a baptisery situated at the Nkwanta Central Assembly church premises for water baptism. A Holy Spirit baptism session followed after the water baptism. When the session ended, the evangelism team led the converts to board the vehicle to convey them back to the evangelism ground.
Just as they began to board the bus, they saw a furious man on a motorbike approaching them.
He was so angry and started shouting at Mrs. Abigail Gyebi, whom they later found out to be his wife.
The man asked her why she had allowed herself to be conveyed to the church premises for water baptism.
The leaders of the church delegation, Pastor Emmanuel K. Turkson (Pataboaso Nkwanta District Minister) and Elder Albert Narh (Evangelism Ministry National Executive Committee coopted member), intervened and tried to calm him down, but Mr. Gyebi would not listen to them.
Instead, he began making phone calls to her relatives to inform them that he would no longer continue to stay with her as his wife.
After a while, he calmed down, so Pastor Turkson and Elder Narh began to explain to him what it meant to accept Christ as Lord and personal Saviour.
Few minutes into the conversation, Mr. Gyebi offered to surrender his life to Christ and was led accordingly by the minister. He was ready to undergo water baptism as his wife had, but unfortunately the water in the baptisery had drained by then, so he was asked to come the next day to be baptised by immersion.
To the utter surprise of the evangelism team, Mr. Gyebi showed up early the next morning for baptism. They quickly led him to the church premises, where he underwent the religious ordinance.
Mr. Gyebi has since “reunited” with his wife, and both are dedicated to their new-found faith in Christ. To God be the Glory!
The “Sefwi Nkwanta for Christ” crusade officially kickstarts this evening (October 18, 2022) under the theme: “In Him Is Life” (John 1:4).
The Evangelism Ministry Directorate is organising the four-day event, in partnership with the Nkwanta District of The Church of Pentecost, at the Tanoso community park.
A fourteen-year-old visually impaired girl, Benedicta Awaki had her sight restored after being prayed for by an elder of The Church of Pentecost.
Benedicta was led by her headmaster, Mr Agemina Benjamin, to Elder Samuel Adda in school for prayer support when she mysteriously went blind.
This is how Elder Samuel Adda narrated the incident: When the headmaster brought Benedicta to me, upon further interrogation, it was revealed that she had been having scary dreams in which some people wanted to kill her. She decided to confide in her headmaster when the scary dreams kept on reoccurring since her parents died some years ago based on the same trend.
Since it was time for closing, I advised the headmaster to see her family since she and her family were not Christians.
Unfortunately, before we could even meet her family, we received reports that Benedicta had mysteriously gone blind the following morning.
When I heard this, I rushed to the house and found the report to be true. Immediately, I led her to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and saviour and then spent time praying with her. I returned later that evening with a brother, Apaaya Jonathan, to pray for her and assured the family of divine healing.
On Wednesday, 26th January 2022, I visited the house in the morning to check on Benedicta, but I was told she had been taken to the eye clinic in Bolgatanga. But upon returning from the eye clinic, they reported to me that, the eye specialist could not identify what was wrong with her eyes. So they were simply asked to go home.
At this point, frustration was setting in. Benedicta’s grandmother was running out of patience. The little girl was now being blamed for everything that had happened to her. I spoke to the family and encouraged them to exercise patience and wait on the Lord for a miracle.
I went back to the house in the afternoon and prayed for her again, and by this time everybody had left her for me alone. But that was the time the miracle-working Jesus visited her with a miracle. After the prayer, I asked Benedicta to stop crying and go and sleep then I left for home. Some minutes after I got home, a phone call came through that she woke up from sleep at once and screamed “I can see,” and there was a great joy and celebration in the house that afternoon.
