Young Women Urged to Approach Exclusive Relationships With Care

Mrs. Mary Nana Aba Mensah, the wife of the Resident Minister for the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Atomic, has advised single young ladies to be circumspect in choosing their life partners.

Speaking in a presentation titled “Dating Without Dying” at the ongoing “ABIDEDOES Conference” organised by the Women’s Ministry of The Church Of Pentecost, Mrs. Aba Mensah explained that modern dating often carries worldly connotations, driven by motives such as pleasure, financial gain, family pressure, or the pursuit of physical satisfaction.

She cautioned, however, that embracing the world’s perspective on dating can lead to bitterness, unforgiveness, depression, and even jeopardize one’s physical health with the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Additionally, she pointed out that such relationships often fail to culminate in lasting marriages.

Using Proverbs 6, Romans 12:2, and Proverbs 25:25 as scripture references; she emphasized that dating stands distinct from both a proposal and marriage.

The importance of personal boundaries was underscored, with Mrs. Mensah emphasising that boundaries are like protective walls for individuals and maintaining these boundaries is essential for emotional and spiritual well-being.

Mrs. Mensah encouraged individuals not to develop a sense of entitlement or ownership in the dating process, advocating for humility and mutual respect.

She also stressed that dating within a Christian circle can foster spiritual growth and ensure alignment of values.

She, however, advised single ladies to evaluate a potential partner’s circle of friends and their faith as a vital step in the process.

Mrs. Mensah advised beginning with group dating rather than immediately entering an exclusive relationship.

“This approach allows individuals to study the character and values of their potential partners from a distance before becoming more intimately involved”, she further explained.

She encouraged individuals to be themselves, not pretending or compromising their standards to impress someone.

Mrs. Mensah highlighted the importance of maintaining one’s values and integrity throughout the dating journey.

“When considering a potential partner, focus on spiritual attributes such as the fruits of the Spirit and doctrinal alignment, rather than being solely swayed by physical appearances”, she said.

The PIWC-Atomic Resident Minister’s wife advised against becoming overly emotionally involved during the dating phase, emphasising the importance of saving the deeper emotional connections for marriage.

Concluding her presentation, Mrs. Mensah urged individuals to find joy in their relationship with God, stressing that delighting in the Lord will lead to the fulfillment of desires from a place of spiritual strength and contentment.

Every Individual Is Precious In The Eyes Of God – Mrs. Deborah Agyemang Bekoe

Mrs. Deborah Agyemang Bekoe, the wife of the International Missions Director of The Church of Pentecost, has stressed that every individual is precious in the eyes of God.

Quoting 1 Corinthians 1:27-28, she reiterated that one’s background or circumstances should never be a hindrance to being used by the Almighty.

Addressing participants today at the ongoing “ABIDEDOES Conference” being organised by the Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Mrs. Agyeman Bekoe drew attention to the exemplary women of the Bible who left an indelible mark on their generation.

One of the notable figures she discussed was Rahab, a woman with a questionable past as a prostitute.

Mrs. Deborah Agyemang Bekoe highlighted that despite her background, God used Rahab to impact society profoundly.

“Joshua 6:25 recounts how Rahab’s faith and actions saved not only her family but also those around her. Intriguingly, Rahab’s legacy extended further, as she found a place in the genealogy of Jesus, as revealed in Matthew 1:5,” she said.

Mrs. Agyemang Bekoe encouraged participants to embrace the lesson of Rahab and strive to be a positive influence in their communities.

The wife of the International Missions Director also shared the story of the Samaritan Woman, whose life was forever altered through her encounter with Jesus.

“In John 4:39, it is recounted how many Samaritans came to believe in Jesus because of her testimony. Her encounter with Jesus not only transformed her life but also became a catalyst for the transformation of many others,” she examined

Mrs. Agyemang Bekoe stressed the importance of surrendering oneself to Jesus for His use, just as the Samaritan Woman did.

She emphasised that no one in the Bible encountered Jesus and remained the same; they were all profoundly changed.

Ending her sermon, Mrs. Deborah Agyemang Bekoe encouraged participants to take heart, adding that regardless of one’s complicated pasts, once they encounter Jesus, their lives will never be the same.

The “ABIDEDOES Conference,” derived from the names of notable Bible characters: Abigail, Deborah, Dorcas, and Salomey, aims to equip women with the necessary skill sets to make a maximum impact in their respective fields.

Be Diligent In Ministry – Apostle Brefo Tells Christian Leaders

The Aflao Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Michael Agyen Brefo, has advised Christian leaders to make every effort to stay on course in ministry if they aspire to achieve commendable results and success.

He gave this advice on Friday, September 8, 2023, during a one-day retreat organised for the Aflao Area pastorate and their wives.

The event, held at the PIWC-English auditorium, also served as an orientation session for new ministers and wives transferred to the Area.

Speaking on the topic “Take Heed to Your Ministry in All Diligence with 1 Timothy 1:12-17, 1 Timothy 4:11-16, and 2 Peter 1:5-10 as Bible references,” Apostle Agyen Brefo charged ministers and their wives to see ministry as a responsibility for service, stewardship, and servanthood.

“We are not a mistake in the ministry. God intentionally called us. We must, therefore, reciprocate this and be diligent to Him. As Christian leaders, we are to take care of God’s flock through consistency and attentiveness,” he stated.

He explained diligence as a “means of giving a certain degree of care to what has been entrusted to someone.”

Diligence, he further noted, also means exercising carefulness with persistence and determination to an endeavor or to achieve a goal.

He stressed that Christian leaders who are diligent give themselves wholly and entirely to a particular cause.

“They are very meticulous and carefully organized. Such people pay attention to details. As industrious people, they set targets and break their own targets. Diligent Christian leaders are not careless, negligent, lazy, and sloppy in life,” he stated.

Citing 2 Corinthians 8:22, Apostle Agyen Brefo narrated how the Apostle Paul testified about a brother who proved to be diligent to the churches at Corinth during the period they were collecting offerings to support the needy Christians at Judea.

He, therefore, encouraged Christian leaders to be diligent in the vocation for which the Lord has called them.

He added that God Himself is very diligent in nature and, therefore, expects His servants to also apply diligence in their dealings.

This, he said, was why God instructed the Israelites to diligently teach their children His word and also keep His commands (Deuteronomy 6:6-7, 17).

“As Christian leaders, we must diligently keep what God, through the church, has instructed us and also teach His people. We must also apply diligence to our prayer life, devotional life, and any other spiritual exercises that apply to us as ministers. When we heed to these virtues, we shall not fail,” he said.

He further emphasised that “Jesus diligently finished His work on the earth before leaving. We must likewise do the work the Lord has given to us till we have finished our tasks.”

Apostle Brefo also advised the pastorate to consistently improve themselves through the study of the Word. Such people are approved of God since they can rightly divide His word of truth.

The Aflao Area Head encouraged the ministers to listen to other spirit-filled sermons to sharpen their ministries, read good Christian books, take time to read the church’s constitution and manuals, and ensure that their ministry is driven by the grace of God.

He concluded by charging the pastorate to make their calling sure by living diligently, stating that: “With proper planning, hard work, and diligence, the Aflao Area will break barriers and make strides in all her endeavors.”

The retreat was also interspersed with prayers for grace and strength for the task ahead, intercessory prayer for the church, bi-monthly report reading, and discussions on issues of concern.

Women Are Specially Designed To Make Impact – Apostle Samuel Obuobi

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has emphasised that one of God’s fundamental purposes for His children on Earth is to have a meaningful impact on their generation, and this divine calling is not exclusive to men but extends to women as well.

The General Secretary made this assertion when he addressed participants of the ongoing ABIDEDOES Conference today at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh. ABIDEDOES is derived from the combination of the names of notable Bible characters: Abigail, Deborah, Dorcas, and Salomey.

Quoting Ephesians 2:10, Apostle Obuobi noted that God intricately designed each individual and that no one is a mistake or an afterthought in His divine plan.

He highlighted the unique role of women, stating, “You have been created as a woman to make a difference in society.”

Drawing from the biblical narrative, Apostle Obuobi illustrated how women have historically played pivotal roles in shaping their societies and impacting their worlds.

He cited examples of remarkable women in the Bible, whose stories continue to inspire believers today

He noted that Deborah emerged as a beacon of strength for the entire nation of Israel, known for her exceptional courage.

Apostle Obuobi lauded her for leading her people to victory in a pivotal war that reshaped the course of the nation’s history.

“Through the acts of bravery of Deborah, she impacted her world,” he said

Abigail is another Bible figure who is celebrated for her wisdom and counsel which played a pivotal role in preventing a tragedy.

“Her intervention not only saved her husband, Nabal, from death but also prevented David from committing murder,” he said.

Dorcas left a lasting legacy through her generosity and acts of charity. Her impact was so profound that even after her passing, people refused to let her body go to the grave.

Priscilla, along with her husband, risked her life for the work of God, leaving an indelible mark on her generation.

Apostle Obuobi highlighted her selflessness and sacrifice as key factors in her impactful life.

“All these women shared a common trait: they possessed unique skills and qualities. Therefore, one of the prerequisites for women to have maximum impact in their generation is the possession of unique skills,” he emphasised.

Quoting Proverbs 22:29, Apostle Obuobi encouraged women to recognize the opportunities that come with skillfulness and expertise.

He also referenced Proverbs 31:10-26, urging women to continually learn new skills and sharpen existing ones as they seek to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.
