The La Area Head and Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, has called on Women’s Ministry leaders at all levels to work together for the growth of God’s church.
He made this appeal during an interaction with Area, District, and Local leaders on Wednesday, 24th June, 2026 at Dr Thomas Wyatt Temple.
According to him, the meeting was organised to fellowship, encourage, and express appreciation for the remarkable work God has accomplished through their efforts over the years.
Apostle Nuekpe acknowledged the contributions of faithful women such as Deaconess Eunice Addison, Deaconess Christiana Obo, Deaconess Perpetual Owusu, and Deaconess Beatrice Kwafo, among others in advancing the church.
He emphasised that no generation can complete God’s work as the mission of the church continues daily. The church’s growth requires the emergence of new leaders, but this does not make older leaders irrelevant. As long as they have strength and the Holy Spirit dwells in them, they remain valuable contributors to God’s kingdom.
Drawing from 1 Peter 4:8–11, Apostle Nuekpe explained that grace comes from God and believers are only stewards of it and should faithfully use their gifts, talents, skills, and grace for God’s glory, noting that there is still much work to be done.
He stressed that being reviewed from a position does not mean one’s usefulness in God’s service has ended. Rather, leaders should continue to use their God-given abilities to bless others, remembering that a time will come when no one can work.
Touching on Vision 2028, he noted that every church member has a role to play. Even those without formal positions can contribute through prayer, and active participation in ministry activities, visitations, calls, teaching, and outreach.
Apostle Nuekpe underscored the value of retired deaconesses, stating that they still have much to offer. He cautioned former leaders against withdrawing after transitions, reminding them that church work is spiritual and that everyone remains accountable to God.
Referencing 2 Timothy 2:2 and Deuteronomy 31:7–8, he urged older leaders to intentionally mentor younger ones, just as Moses encouraged Joshua. He also advised members to support and encourage current leaders rather than criticise them. “We are not in competition with anyone,” he said, adding that God is the ultimate rewarder.
He further encouraged new leaders to learn from experienced ones, whose wisdom and institutional memory can help advance the church. Quoting Philippians 4:2–4, he stressed the importance of unity between old and new leaders and warned against unhealthy factions and divisions within the Ministry and the church.
Apostle Nuekpe reminded the women that, positions are temporary, but heavenly rewards are eternal. Remain united, respect one another, and avoid anything that hinders the progress of God’s church because where competition exists, destruction follows.
