The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, has called on Christians to deepen their knowledge of God and His Word in order to experience the abundant life secured for them through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Speaking on the topic, “Called To Abundant Life,” at the 2026 Abundant Life Conference organised by Harvest Chapel International on Wednesday, June 25, 2026, Apostle Dr Nyamekye stated that everything pertaining to life and godliness has already been provided in Christ Jesus.
The conference brought together renowned ministers of the gospel, including Rev. Fitzgerald Odonkor, President of Harvest Chapel International; Bishop N. A. Tackie-Yarboi, General Overseer of the Victory Bible Church International, and Rev. Emmanuel Temda of Impact City Chapel.
Referencing 2 Peter 1:2-3, Apostle Dr Nyamekye explained that grace and peace are found only in Jesus Christ, and that believers have been given the privilege of participating in God’s divine nature. According to him, the Cross remains the foundation of the Christian faith and the source of the believer’s abundant life.
“Everything begins at the Cross,” he stressed, adding that the Church must never lose its focus on Christ’s sacrificial work because it is through the Cross that believers receive spiritual fullness and victory.
Quoting from Colossians 2:6-10, the Chairman noted that everything required for abundant living is found in Christ. He encouraged Christians to recognise their position in Him, stressing that they have been brought into fullness and empowered to overcome every challenge of life.
Drawing from Ephesians 4:24, Apostle Dr Nyamekye explained that believers have been recreated in the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. He stated that the capacity to live a holy life is already present in every born-again Christian through the inner man, even though the flesh continually opposes the Spirit.
He likened spiritual growth to the development of a child, explaining that although believers receive fullness in Christ at salvation, they must grow in spiritual maturity to fully manifest what God has deposited in them.
Quoting 1 Peter 2:2 and Acts 20:32, he emphasised that growth comes through the Word of God, which has the power to build believers up and bring them into their inheritance. He added that God is concerned not only about the spiritual wellbeing of His children but also their overall welfare.
Apostle Dr Nyamekye further explained that Christ’s death on the cross brought about a divine exchange and a divine transfer. Referring to Hebrews 9:15, he described the Scriptures as God’s written will for His children, noting that every benefit secured through Christ’s sacrifice is documented in His Word.
“A will has no legal effect until the testator dies,” he explained, adding, “Jesus fulfilled that requirement through His death, and the Holy Spirit now helps believers understand and appropriate what rightfully belongs to them.”
He urged Christians to devote themselves to studying the Scriptures, stressing that the Holy Spirit reveals God’s inheritance to those who immerse themselves in His written Word.
The Chairman also challenged believers to live courageously as representatives of Christ on earth, citing 1 John 4:17. He noted that Christians are ambassadors of Christ and must renew their minds to operate in the authority and identity that God has given them.
Touching on Ephesians 3, Apostle Dr Nyamekye indicated that true abundance stems from knowing God and understanding one’s position in Him. He added that nothing brings greater fulfilment and joy than the knowledge of God.
Quoting Jeremiah 9:23-24, he urged believers to glory not in earthly achievements but in their knowledge of the Lord, describing it as the highest attainment and the gateway to abundant grace.
Among the ministers present at the conference were Apostle Tony Mensah (Abeka Area Head); Apostle Benedict Eghan (Personal Assistant to the Chairman), and Pastor Dr Felix Dela Klutse (Director, Pent Media Centre).
