The Ashaiman Sector of the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost has organized a Mega Breakfast and Gospel Rally at the Tema Fishing Harbour, specifically at the Canoe Fish Yard as part of the Father’s Day celebrations.

The outreach, which was targeted primarily at fishermen within the fishing community, attracted approximately 300 men who were reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In addition to sharing the message of salvation, the ministry organized a special breakfast to celebrate and appreciate the men on the occasion of Father’s Day.

Delivering a brief gospel message, Pastor Solomon Anderson, Home and Urban Missions Pastor for the Ashaiman Sector, presented Jesus Christ as the Father of all fishermen. In his sermon, he highlighted the encounters Jesus had with fishermen during His earthly ministry. He explained that when Jesus first called His disciples, He charged Peter and his companions to become “fishers of men.”

Pastor Anderson emphasized that before Peter could become an effective fisher of men, he first had a personal encounter with Christ. He encouraged the fishermen to likewise seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and then share the message of salvation with others. He further challenged them to prioritize the spiritual welfare of their families, stressing that as heads of their households, they have a responsibility to lead their homes to Christ. Their families, he noted, should be their first “catch” as fishers of men.

Speaking on behalf of the fishermen, the Chief Fisherman, Nii Odametey, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Church for its concern and interest in the welfare of the fishing community. He commended the ministry for reaching out to them not only with the gospel but also with practical expressions of love and care.

Despite the heavy rains that morning, members of the HUM Outreach Team of the Ashaiman Sector remained committed to the soul-winning agenda and served passionately throughout the program. Their dedication and sacrifice contributed significantly to the success of the outreach and demonstrated the Church’s commitment to reaching every people group with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The event served as a powerful platform for evangelism and fellowship, bringing hope, encouragement, and the message of salvation to the fishing community while celebrating the important role of fathers in society.
