The Church of Pentecost Canada has commissioned 13 newly called ministers into active ministry as part of its 2026 Ordination and Commissioning Service held at the McKeown Worship Centre in Toronto, Canada.
The service, which also saw the ordination of seven ministers into the pastorate, was officiated by Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, together with Apostle Ransford Obeng Gyamfi, National Head of The Church of Pentecost Canada, on Friday, May 29, 2026.
The colourful and spiritually uplifting ceremony marked a significant milestone in the church’s growth in Canada, reflecting its continued commitment to strengthening its ministerial workforce and advancing the Great Commission.
Among the dignitaries present were Mrs Juliana Korkor Obuobi, wife of the General Secretary; Mrs Irene Obeng Gyamfi, wife of the National Head; Apostle Philip Chemel, National Secretary and Ottawa-Quebec Area Head; Apostle Joseph Tieku, Peel Halton Area Head; Apostle Gabriel Addo-Asante, Toronto York Area Head; Apostle Dr Jamil Nasir, National Head of Pakistan and Coordinator of South Asian Churches in Canada; Pastor Joseph Acheampong, Southwestern Ontario Area Head; Pastor Daniel Sowah, Manitoba Area Head; Apostle Dr Alex Agyei Gyamera (Rtd.); Mrs Patience Owusu, wife of the immediate past National Head; and Elder Eric Sogah, National Deacon.
In a sermon titled “The Garment and the Oil,” based on Ecclesiastes 9:8, Apostle Obuobi urged ministers to uphold both holiness and the anointing of the Holy Spirit in their ministry, describing both as essential for effective service.
He explained that the white garment represents purity, righteousness, and godly character, while the oil signifies the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, stressing that both must be maintained without compromise.
The newly commissioned ministers included Pastor Reza Tabari of Aurora City Church, Pastor Rubango Alain Ntale of Edmonton French Assembly, Probationary Overseer Shahbaz Masih of Brampton South Asian Church, and Probationary Overseer Anoos Javed Bhatti of Mississauga South Asian Church, highlighting the church’s growing multicultural presence in Canada.
The General Secretary also prayed for newly appointed ministry directors, including Apostle Dr Jamil Nasir as South Asian Churches Coordinator in Canada, Pastor Lord Badu as National City Churches Coordinator, Pastor Felix Stephen Wiredu as National Men’s Director, Pastor Daniel Owusu Agyemang as National Evangelism Director, and Deaconess Doris Owusu-Bempah as National Women’s Director.
The service concluded with prayers, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment from the newly ordained and commissioned ministers to faithfully serve God and advance the mission of The Church of Pentecost in Canada and beyond.
