Walk In Good Works – Apostle Agyemang Badu Urges Christians

The Kintampo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Francis Agyemang Badu, has urged believers to let their light shine wherever they go by engaging in good works. He made this call on Sunday, January 14, 2024, during a working visit to the Krutakyi Assembly in the Jema Nkwanta District of the Church.

In a sermon titled “We Were Dead, But God” and using Ephesians 2:1-10 as a scripture reference, Apostle Agyemang Badu enumerated how God has graciously chosen believers to become His sons and daughters, despite their past. He explained that, before Christ’s redemption, they were dead in their transgressions and sins, following the ways of the world. He added, “We were under demonic and satanic powers and followed the desires of the flesh.”

Touching on the three types of death, he explained that humankind experienced spiritual death, which is separation from God, as a result of Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden. The second type of death, he mentioned, is physical death, occurring when the soul departs from the body, whereas the last death, eternal death, awaits those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and will be cast into hell fire on judgment day.

He emphasised that God, through His love, mercy, and grace, has completely paid for the sins of humanity and restored their broken relationship with God. “He showed us mercy by not punishing us or allowing us to die in our transgressions, but He saved us out of His unconditional love and grace. God has raised us with Christ, given us eternal life, and seated us in the heavenly realm,” he said.

The Kintampo Area Head concluded by advising everyone to abstain from the works of the flesh since they are new creations, and the old has already passed away. He urged believers to live up to their new standing in Christ as God’s handiwork, specially created in Christ Jesus to do good works and implored them to influence their spheres with the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.

In attendance were Apostle Samuel Badu Nyarko (Rtd.) and his wife, Mama Cecilia, Pastor Prince Augustine Ababio (Jema Nkwanta District Minister), Nana Oduro Pinkrah II (Yefri Anponahene), as well as officers and members of the Krutakyi Assembly.

The Lord’s Garden: Flourishing With Children’s Laughter

In the tapestry of life, children are the vibrant threads that weave joy, innocence, and hope into the fabric of our existence. The Lord’s Garden, as we affectionately call it, is a metaphorical oasis where these blossoms of pure delight thrive, creating an environment brimming with the laughter and curiosity of the young souls entrusted to our care.

In this sacred space, every child is a unique bloom, nurtured by the collective efforts of parents, educators, and the community at large. The responsibility to tend to these tender shoots is a shared one, with each adult serving as a gardener in the grand design of the Lord’s Garden.

Within the Garden’s bounds, we witness the enchanting dance of diversity, where children of various backgrounds, cultures, and abilities coalesce harmoniously. The essence of this place lies in its inclusive embrace, fostering an atmosphere where differences are celebrated, and every child’s individuality is cherished.

The laughter that echoes through the Lord’s Garden is a testament to the resilience and optimism inherent in childhood. It resonates in the classrooms, playgrounds, and corridors, forming a symphony that uplifts spirits and brings smiles to the faces of all who enter this sacred space. It is a melody that transcends linguistic barriers, connecting hearts and souls in a universal language of joy.

Education, both formal and informal, is the fertile soil in which the Lord’s Garden flourishes. Here, the seeds of knowledge, empathy, and compassion are sown, and young minds are encouraged to blossom into individuals who contribute positively to the world. As educators, we take pride in nurturing not only the intellect but also the character of these budding personalities.

In the Lord’s Garden, the concept of growth extends beyond academic achievements. It encompasses emotional intelligence, social skills, and a deep-rooted understanding of the values that form the bedrock of a compassionate and just society. Through the guidance of dedicated mentors, the children learn to navigate the complexities of life with resilience, kindness, and an unwavering sense of purpose.

The vibrancy of the Lord’s Garden is not confined to its physical space; it extends into the broader community. Parents, guardians, and caregivers play pivotal roles as stewards, tending to the well-being of the children and contributing to the nurturing environment that defines this special place.

As we cultivate the Lord’s Garden, remember that safeguarding and nurturing the next generation is a sacred duty. It is an investment in the future, ensuring that the seeds planted today will grow into sturdy trees, providing shade and sustenance for future generations.

In the Lord’s Garden, let us continue to celebrate the laughter of children, for it is the melody that carries the promise of a brighter tomorrow. May our collective efforts as guardians of this sacred space yield a bountiful harvest of compassionate, resilient, and enlightened individuals, enriching the world with their unique contributions.

Until then, listen to the kids’ side.

UNLEASHING DIVINE CREATIVITY web

Unleashing Divine Creativity: Exploring Creativity In Christ

In the Christian faith, creativity is not merely a human endeavour but a reflection of God Himself. Creativity is a divine gift given to humankind, and as believers, exploring creativity in Christ adds a unique dimension to our understanding of this profound aspect of our existence. The Bible emphasises the role of God as the ultimate artist, designer, and innovator. As we explore the idea of creativity in Christ, we learn how our artistic endeavours can serve as a platform for worship and a reflection of God’s glory.

The Bible opens with the story of God creating the heavens and the earth. Humanity is described as having been made in the likeness of God in Genesis 1:27. The capacity for creation is a part of our innate relationship with our Creator. We participate in a kind of co-creation with God when we create, mirroring His creative essence.

God’s creativity extends beyond the material world to encompass the complexities of each of our unique existences. We are reminded that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in Psalm 139:13–14. Every individual is a singular work of art, a manifestation of God’s ingenuity and purpose. As Christians, we may appreciate the richness of God’s artistic expression in our lives when we acknowledge and celebrate the creative aspects of who we are.

Our creative expressions can be a form of worship, acknowledging and glorifying the Creator. Whether it be through art, music, writing, or any other form of creative endeavour, we have the opportunity to use our talents to bring glory to God. Colossians 3:23 encourages us to do everything as if we are working for the Lord. This includes our creative pursuits as we offer our skills and abilities back to God in gratitude for the creativity He has bestowed upon us.

As Christians, we believe in the transformative power of Christ’s love. This transformative aspect extends to our creativity as well. When our minds are renewed in Christ, our creativity is also transformed. Our creative expressions can become instruments of love, hope, and redemption, reflecting the transformative work of the Holy Spirit within us.

Exploring creativity in Christ reveals a deep relationship between our artistic pursuits and our religion. We have the honour and privilege of using our creativity to honour and glorify God as co-creators. Our artistic endeavours turn into a kind of worship and a celebration of who we are as specially made creatures in the likeness of the Almighty. We add to the ongoing story of God’s creative and redemptive work in the world by allowing the love and truth of Christ to permeate our creative endeavours.

GMWC: A Historic Refreshing Event To Always Look Forward To

INTRODUCTION

The Church of Pentecost, like every institution, is both an organism and an organisation. Our dear Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, explains that the Church is an organism because there is life in it and dispenses life.

It is also an organisation because it thrives on structures, systems, and the programme of activities that drive the organism to be active, potent, and effective.

One of the Church’s flagship major programs that drive the organisation is the annual week-long retreat, generally known as the Ministers and Wives Conference or the Global Ministers and Wives Conference (GMWC) if it is held globally for all clergy and their spouses within the church.

After successful events over the period, it is clear to me that this conference is one to always look forward to in January every year.

In this article, I will attempt to reflect on some reasons to always anticipate the Ministers and Wives Conference (MWC) or the Global Ministers and Wives Conference (GMWC).

1. FELLOWSHIP AND REUNION

Drawing from the Psalmist submission on the goodness and pleasantness that characterises the dwelling together of the brethren, I see the GMWC or the MWC as one of the beautiful platforms for building fellowships and strengthening our ministerial bonds. In these meetings, Bible schoolmates reunite to share fond memories, get to see each other and reignite the warmth of being together. Fellowshipping and reuniting among the clergy and our spouses create a sense of belongingness, drive companionship, and deepen the camaraderie that leads to the cultivation and sustenance of healthy connections.

2. INTENSE SPIRITUAL ATMOSPHERE

A significant observation from the GMWC or MWCs relates to the intensity of the spiritual atmosphere created for encounters, transformations, and impartations. The structure of these conferences is set in such a way that participants are brought into a place where their physical nature engages with the supernatural. Indeed, the intense spiritual atmosphere programs a climate for many spiritual possibilities and spiritual expressions driven by hunger, passion, and yieldedness indicative of the understanding that patrons have come to receive new wine into their new wineskins.

3. THE VOICE OF PENTECOST

One cannot discuss the GMWC without touching on the music production during these conferences. From its outset, music has also played a significant role in modifying the engagement between human patrons and the supernatural, making it an enviable toast. Led by the vocal powerhouse – The Voice of Pentecost, patrons can expect nothing else but a sumptuous service of a bouquet of well-arranged theme songs, classical Pentecostal choruses, and meditative hymns garnished with a colourful blend of contemporary tunes all served on trays of unique vocal abilities and skillful instrumentations. Indeed, the colour that the Voice of Pentecost brings to the table cannot be quantified.

4. SPIRITUAL RECALIBRATION AND REENGINEERING

I see the MWC/GMWC as an avenue for spiritual recalibration and re-engineering. The prophet Isaiah says the remnant of Judah will be rooted downwards and fruitful upwards (2Kgs. 19:30). So, in these conferences, we see a conscious effort by leadership through the power of the Holy Spirit to teach ministers and their wives God’s word. In these meetings, the various topics pertaining to the theme for the year are thoroughly discussed, and intense prayer sessions are offered. The pastoralia moments where deep insights for effective pastoring and shepherding serve as great reminders for patrons to be wary of ministerial pitfalls while aggregating ministerial gems to make giant strides in their stations of operation. Usually, the look on the faces of patrons is one filled with fresh zeal, revelation, understanding, poise and renewed passion to soar like an eagle with a clear vision and strong momentum to do God’s will.

5. UNITY AND INCLUSIVITY

One key aspect of the GMWC/MWC is to get the entire church public united and have a sense of inclusivity in carrying them along the vision and heart of God as directed through leadership. This is the reason why platforms have been created to broadcast the programme live on TV and social media platforms, including Zoom and Webinar. This allows both in-person patrons and the virtual audience who are stakeholders to receive God’s spiritual direction for the Church first-hand in the ensuing years, particularly in these times of the unleashing agenda. This allows for effective assimilation of the agreed strategy to facilitate easy implementation. For nothing can stop the force unleashed on the wings of unity and inclusivity.

CONCLUSION

The purpose of this article was to offer five reasons why the Global Ministers and Wives Conference (GMWC) is always an event to look forward to. With the kind of preparations and planning that go into such events, it is clear that this year’s event would not be different but an unforgettable encounter.

Apostle Noble-Atsu Bids Farewell To Late Wife web

Apostle Noble-Atsu Bids Farewell To Late Wife

Apostle Daniel K. Noble-Atsu (Retired), a former Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, paid a heartfelt tribute to his late wife, Mrs. Fidelia Noble-Atsu, during a memorial service held at the Nsakina School Park today, expressing, “Apart from my salvation, [my wife] was the best thing that ever happened to me!”

In a moving eulogy at the event, the retired minister highlighted his late wife’s admirable qualities, describing her as kindhearted, sincere, honest, forthright, diligent, and industrious.

He commended her for taking a chance on him by accepting to be his wife when he had not yet gained recognition or significance.

“I got married to this beautiful, thoughtful, industrious, very focused, and strong-willed lady when I was a nobody. It was just by pure grace that she agreed to marry a nonentity,” he said.

He also acknowledged his late wife’s financial acumen and how her industrious nature proved to be very beneficial during their 29-year ministerial service.

Apostle Noble-Atsu also praised his late wife’s pivotal role in providing godly training for their children.

Flanked by relatives and loved ones, Apostle Atsu (Rtd.) was overwhelmed with sadness as he sorrowfully filed past his dear wife’s lifeless remains to bid her a final farewell.

He expressed deep grief at her loss but expressed belief that he will one day meet her again at the glorious heavenly reunion.

The event, chaired by the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, received high patronage, with the attendance of numerous dignitaries within and outside the country.

They included some Executive Council Members, namely, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe (International Missions Director), Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, Apostle Yaw Adjei-Kwarteng, Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani, Apostle Mike Etrue, Apostle Dr. Dela Quampah, Apostle Sylvester Arhin, Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin, Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, and Apostle Dieudonne Nuekpe.

Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah Rtd. (Immediate-Past Chairman), Apostle Rigwell Ato Addison Rtd. (Former General Secretary), Apostle Dr. Alfred Koduah Rtd. (Former General Secretary), Apostle Lawson Samuel (President of The Church of Pentecost-Togo International) were also present to support and mourn with the bereaved family.

The Kasoa Area Head, Apostle James Kwabena Asare, delivered a sermon on “The Importance of Salvation,” emphasising the eternal significance of salvation for the soul. He urged those present to prioritise salvation, as the soul’s eternal fate transcends the transient nature of the body.

In his sermon, Apostle James Asare explained that just as Mrs. Fidelia Noble-Atsu has gone to be with the Lord, everyone is bound to suffer the same fate.

He, however, noted that the most important thing one must do before this eventuality is to ensure the salvation of the soul.

“We can have all, but we should never fail to save our soul,” he emphasised.

He explained that salvation for the soul is the permanent deliverance from sin and its consequences by faith through Christ.

He said that the salvation of the soul is very important not only to mankind but to God Himself, as it is His will that everyone enjoys an eternal life of bliss.

He said that this is so important to God that He personally had to pay the price for sin to ensure its facilitation.

The Kasoa Area Head further noted that the salvation of the soul is important because the soul is priceless. According to him, nothing else in this world is as valuable as the soul because it is eternal.

Another reason why salvation of the soul is important, he mentioned, is because it is the soul, not the body, that will face eternal judgment.

He cautioned all present who are yet to save their soul by surrendering their life to Christ to do so before the day of reckoning when there shall be a separation between the soul and body.

“No matter how beautiful the body is, one day the soul will be separated from the body, and the soul will be left to travel alone,” he said.

During the event, children of the late Mrs. Fidelia Noble-Atsu paid tribute to her praising her motherly virtues. The General Council of The Church of Pentecost also paid tribute to the late minister’s wife, acknowledging her significant impact during their time in full-time ministry of the Church.

Among the mammoth gathering of National Heads, Ministry Directors, Area Heads, Church members, relatives, friends, and other sympathisers were Mrs. Juliana Korkor Obuobi (Wife of the General Secretary), Mrs. Deborah Agyemang Bekoe (Wife of the IMD) and Mrs. Grace Opoku Onyinah (Wife of the immediate-past Chairman).

Mrs. Fidelia Noble-Atsu, aged 75, is survived by a husband, three biological children, one adopted child, and 11 grandchildren.

May her soul rest in peace.

Give Thanks Always – Mrs Mary Nyamekye Tells Christians

The wife of the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Mrs Mary Nyamekye, has advised Christians to develop a habit of thanksgiving to God in all situations.

He said this on Wednesday during the Greater Accra Ministers Wives’ bi-monthly prayer meeting held at the Dr Thomas Wyatt Auditorium in Accra. The event was a time of prayer, praise, and fellowship for the pastors’ wives, who also shared testimonies of God’s faithfulness and miracles in their lives and ministries.

In her sermon based on Psalm 116:12-15, Mrs Nyamekye explained that the psalmist expressed his gratitude and love for God who heard his cry and delivered him from a hopeless situation.

She challenged the women to always acknowledge God’s goodness and mercy in their lives and to thank Him for His wonderful gifts.

She said: “God is a prayer answering God who can do all things and who fights our battles for us. He comes in when there is no hope and makes a way. He also gives us joy. He has also given us the Holy Spirit which gives us power to trample on the wicked one.”

She listed some of the blessings that God has given them, such as the breath of life, the salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, the grace to overcome sin, the joy of His presence, the adoption as His children, and the opportunity to serve Him.

She advised them not to take God’s grace for granted or to serve Him casually, but to serve Him with all their heart and to trust Him in every situation.

“Do not stay away from the presence of God. Do not serve God anyhow. Serve Him with all your heart. He is a faithful God who will never leave you nor forsake you,” she concluded.

You Are Not A Mistake! – Pastor Kwadwo Obeng Encourages Christians

The Resident Campus Minister for the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) – University of Ghana Branch, Pastor Kwadwo Obeng, has stated that God has a plan and a purpose for every person, regardless of their appearance or situation.

He said that God chose the Israelites as His special people in the Old Testament, but they became proud and despised other nations. However, Jesus Christ came to save everyone who believes in Him, whether Jews or Gentiles and to break the wall of hostility between them.

He emphasised that anyone who accepts Jesus as their Lord and Saviour becomes part of God’s family and enjoys the privileges and responsibilities of being a child of God.

He said this when he delivered a sermon on the topic: “Taking your place in God’s family” at a midweek service held on January 17, 2024, at the Akuafo Hall, TacoBell Square on the University of Ghana Campus.

He used Ephesians 2:10-19(NLT) as his main scripture reference, and Exodus 19:5 and Deuteronomy 7:6-8 as supporting texts.

He quoted Romans 8:16-17 and 1 Peter 2:9 to show that Christians are heirs of God and a royal priesthood and should not be intimidated by the devil.

He also affirmed that everyone in God’s family matters and that age is not a factor in serving God.

The Campus Pastor advised Christians to identify their gifts and talents and to use them for God’s glory.

He said, “Identify something and do it for God because you must take your place in God’s family. If you fail to identify your place, that part of the family is suffering. What you fail to do may affect the family. Don’t imitate what others do; do what God has granted you to do.”
