The Ziope District of The Church of Pentecost in the Ho Area has organised a seminar for all ministers and royals in the district.

The event, which was supported by the Ziope Local Council of Churches and the Ziope Traditional Council, took place at the Ziope Central Assembly Auditorium on Saturday, December 3, 2022. It was under the theme, “Leadership cohesion is paramount for peaceful co-existence and community development.”

The Co-ordinator for the Ho Area Chieftaincy Ministry, Pastor Philip Tamakloe, who represented the Area Head, Apostle Dr Dela Quampah, in his keynote address, stressed the importance of collaboration between traditional authorities and the Church in developing communities.

He called on leaders at all levels of society to unite so that the people they lead will follow their example. He stated that conflict among opinion leaders in communities does not promote development.

The Acting President of the Ziope Traditional Council, Torgbi Awadada Zizaze V, on his part, expressed appreciation to the local council of churches for the wonderful initiative.

He shared some of his experiences and lessons learnt at the National Royals Conference held at the Pentecost Convention Centre this year. 

The Ziope District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, Overseer Pennywise Vivor, led discussions on the way forward for Chieftaincy Ministry in the area, in which they agreed to begin chaplaincy in the various palaces. They also agreed on various developmental projects and activities which will be jointly organised by the Local Council of Churches and the Ziope Traditional Council.

The Zikpuitor of the paramount chief, Zikpuitor Frank Gasese, also took the royal process, educating them on the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts.’

Other royals present were Mamaga Norkuawuwo V (Paramount queen), and other subchiefs and queens in the Ziope Traditional Area.

The event was also attended by the clergy from the Catholic Church, the Evangelical Royal Generation Church, Healing Jesus Mission International, Global Evangelical Church and the Messengers Voice. Others included the Assemblies of God Church, Favour Embassy, Pentecostal Ministry and the Christian Assembly.

Wudoaba District Constructs Community Information Centre

The Wudoaba District in the Aflao Area of The Church of Pentecost has constructed an information centre for the Wudoaba community and its environs.

The centre, worth GH¢15,000.00, has been constructed for public announcement purposes and for the propagation of the gospel message of Christ.

“The project is also the Church’s contribution to the developmental needs of the Wudoaba community and its environs,” Pastor Godfred Tsatsu, the District Minister, further stated.

The facility, which has been fitted with state-of-the-art equipment, was dedicated by the Aflao Area Head, Apostle Michael Agyen Brefo, at a brief ceremony last Sunday.

Speaking at the ceremony, Apostle Agyen Brefo commended the leadership of the Wudoaba District for embarking on the community transformation project which is in line with the five-year strategic vision of The Church of Pentecost, dubbed “Vision 2023: Possessing the Nations.”

According to the Aflao Area Head, the Church, through this vision, seeks to influence every sphere of society with values and principles of the kingdom of God. He was, therefore, confident that the information centre would contribute meaningfully to the realisation of Vision 2023.

Present at the dedication ceremony were Honourable Collins Ababio (Assembly member for Wudoaba) and the Dzodze zone pastorate within the Aflao Area.

297 Souls Won At “Salaga for Christ” Crusade

A three-day gospel and healing crusade organised by the Tamale Area of The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with Soul Partners International, at the Salaga Senior High School in the Northern Region of Ghana, recorded 297 souls to the glory of God.

The crusade, dubbed “Salaga for Christ,” was held from December 8 to 10, 2022, in morning and evening sessions.

The morning sessions focused on prayer, fasting, Holy Ghost baptism, and teachings, whilst the evening session was dedicated to the proclamation of the Gospel message of Christ.

The officials of Souls Partners International, collaborated with the Health Workers Guild of the Tamale Area to organise medical screening exercises during the morning sessions.

Speaking at an evening session of the crusade, the Tamale Area Head and Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Sylvester Arhin, asserted that Jesus is the only Saviour of the world and that eternal life can be found in no one else but Him.

“The son of God manifested in the flesh to save man from the power of sin and give us eternal life,” he said.

Apostle Arhin, therefore, urged all who are yet to surrender their lives to Jesus to do so and obtain eternal life.

At the end of the crusade, 297 people accepted Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour; 156 of them underwent water baptism by immersion.

Soul Partners International is a US-based non-profit Christian organisation founded by Dr. Nathaniel Owusu, his wife, Gifty Nana Akua Owusu, and Dr. Harriet Kussi in October 2018.

The organisation partners with local churches to organise evangelism outreaches in their communities and also attend to the health needs of community members.

The Church of Pentecost, through her social services directorate, Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS), has constructed a limited mechanised water system for the Kpalworgu Community in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region.

The water system, which was constructed at a total cost of GHS 50,000.00, consists of a borehole, a 10,000-litre overhead storage tank, and two standpipes connected through a pipe network to deliver water to the Kpalworgu school, CHPS Compound, and other residents of the community.

A public standpipe with three fetching taps was also constructed for the Fulani community in the Area as part of the project.

According to the PENTSOS Director, Elder Richard Amaning, the project was started in 2019 but its completion delayed as a result of power extension challenges.

He further noted that, due to the limited number of boreholes fitted with hand pumps in the community, school children, health workers and the residents relied heavily on rainwater harvesting (which is seasonal) for water supply.

The water system would, therefore, provide relief to the community people, particularly pupils and patients, he added.

The facility, which adds to the growing list of social interventions undertaken by The Church of Pentecost in the last five years, was commissioned by the Wa Area Head of the Church, Apostle Daniel Nii Tetteh Tackie, during a special ceremony held last Monday.

Apostle Tetteh Tackie, in his speech at the event, indicated that the water system is in line with the Church’s five-year strategic vision (Vision 2023), which among other objectives, is focused on championing societal transformation.

Drawing some lessons from Jesus’ feeding of the five thousand to exhort the gathering, the Church’s Coordinator for Home and Urban Missions (HUM), Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, said that the social needs of people must be on the heart of every government and institution, stressing that: “providing water to a community is as important as bringing them the gospel.”

Apostle Kwafo further urged the community people to live together in love, and not to waste resources since “every wasteful community is a poor community.”

The Wa East District Chief Executive, Dr. S. K. Mahama, a special guest at the event, thanked the Church for the great work done and lauded  the Church’s holistic approach to ministry.

“When you attend The Church of Pentecost, the Church does not only work on your spirit, but it also cares for your soul and body,” he said.

The representative of the Kpalworgu Chief at the ceremony also conveyed the chief’s gratitude to the Church as well as teachers and health workers for their significant contributions to the development of the community.

Present at the commissioning ceremony were a cross-section of the Wa Area pastorate, staff of the PENTSOS Directorate, principal officers from the Wa East District Assembly, community elders, the Fulani Chief, Church members and community people.

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost (CoP), Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has urged clergy, officers, and members of the Church to strive to preserve the Church’s brand identity and refrain from acts that can tarnish the Church’s image and thus bring the name of God into disrepute.

“When members have grievances or concerns about the church or ministers, they should not speak ill of them, but rather channel their grievances through the established procedures to seek redress,” the General Secretary has admonished when speaking at this year’s Head Office Management & Staff Retreat today at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa-Fetteh, near Kasoa.

In a presentation on the topic, “Maintaining The CoP Brand – Rules of Conducts,” Apostle Kumi-Larbi said that the Church is the household of God, redeemed and sanctified by the blood of Jesus.

“The Church is not a mere social institution, but a family of saints being trained and equipped until we all attain the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,” he stated.

He said that The CoP brands are what identify and separate the Church from others, saying, “It shapes the minds of the way of people, distinguishes and makes us unique.”

The General Secretary noted that God gave the forbearers of The Church of Pentecost a covenant which shaped its tenets, core values and rules of conducts.

“In every generation, if they don’t respect their part of the covenant, God will leave them and choose other people,” he stressed.

According to him, for the Church to fulfill its mandate of the covenant, some guidelines have been outlined to shape its members thoughts and principles of living. These, he noted, are the rules of conducts that govern the Church.

Stating the rules of conducts, Apostle Kumi-Larbi explained that they can help members to maintain the church’s brand which is highly respected at all levels.

Below are the Rules of Conduct of The Church of Pentecost:

a. Set aside a period daily for a personal quiet time in prayer and meditation on the Word (Matt. 6:6; Eph. 6:18-20).

b. Always endeavour to adequately prepare yourself through prayer and meditation before coming to the house of God (Heb. 4:15-16).

c. Be in your seat in good time before the commencement of service and participate fully in every aspect of the service.

d. Endeavour, by word and deed, to bring up your children in the fear of the LORD, and bring them with you to the house of God. Supervise and monitor the active participation of your children in Sunday School and Youth Ministry, as the case may be. Do not neglect the spiritual well-being of the other relatives and househelps under your care; they also need salvation (Gen. 18:19; Jos. 24:15; 2 Tim. 1:5,6; Prov. 22:6; Deut. 6:4-7).

e. Take the pastor as your own friend. He needs your compassion, help and advice as you also need his. Pray for him always (Heb 13;17, 18; Rom. 15:30-32; Mal 2:7).

f. Make the Church your spiritual home. Love the brethren with brotherly affection and, if you are able, contribute to the needs of the saints (Phil. verse 7; Ac. 2:46).

g. During casual conversation at home or at work, do not speak disrespectfully or disparagingly about the Church and God’s servants. Make your concerns and grievances known to the appropriate authority for explanation or redress (3 Jn. 9,10; Num. 12:12).

h. Endeavour to study the Bible diligently on your own and take it with you anytime you go to the house of God (2 Tim. 2:15; Act. 17:11; Jos. 1:8).

i. Enter reverently; pray fervently; listen attentively; give praise from a grateful heart, and worship God in the beauty of holiness (Ps. 118:27-29; Eccl. 5:1; Rom. 7:12; Jas 1:19). “Enter into His gates with thanks-giving, and into His courts with praise; be thankful unto Him and bless His name” (Ps. 100:4)

j. Marital fidelity and chastity before and during marriage are the hallmarks of a true Christian and are, therefore, strongly urged upon every child of God. Pre-marital and extra-marital relationships have no place in the Church of God; members found in such relationships should be punished by suspension and/or withdrawal from fellowship (1Cor. 5; Heb. 13:4).

k. In your business, endeavour to make all your dealings and transactions Bible based, honest and transparent (Prov. 16:8; 21:6; 22:13,16; Jer. 17:11; 22:13). A true child of God should not deal in items known to be detrimental to the spiritual, mental and physical health of others, e.g., alcohol, cigarettes and narcotic drugs.

The Grubi District Minister in the Kete-Krachi Area of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Martin Baidoo, has been adjudged the Best Fish Farmer in the Kete-Krachi Nchumburu District of the Oti Region.

Pastor Baidoo was conferred with the award at the just-ended Farmers’ Day celebrations held in Kete-Krachi on Friday, December 2, 2022.

He was presented with a 32-inch flat-screen television set, Napsa spraying machine, a pair of wellington boots, two bars of washing soap, and two machetes.

Pastor Martin Baidoo started fish farming in December 2021 with 2,100 fingerlings. Currently, he has 50 people, comprising members and non-members of the church, who are undergoing training to undertake their individual projects.

The Pentecost Preparatory School, Madina (PPS-Madina) emerged overall winners of the 2022 Kathy Knowles Inter-School Reading Competition organised under the auspices of the Ghana Library Board for basic schools.

The Kathy Knowles Inter-School Reading Competition is an annual event that was initiated 10 years ago to encourage reading among basic school children within the La Nkwantanang and Ayawaso Municipalities.

This year’s edition of the reading competition was under the theme: “Reading, a Prerequisite for the 21st Century Learner.”

PPS-Madina edged past over 50 schools at the preliminary stages of the competition to qualify as one of the 10 finalists for the grand finale held at the Accra College of Education.

By dint of hard work, the PPS-Madina team were crowned champions at the end of the contest and were presented a trophy and stationeries. The team also received anniversary champagne and cake from the event organisers.

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, met with about 349 retired ministers and wives of the Church in the Greater-Accra Region at the Santa Maria Central Assembly church auditorium, Accra, yesterday.

The purpose of the meeting, among other reasons, was to share fellowship with the gallant soldiers of the cross and offer them some words of encouragement.

Also present at the meeting were Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi (General Secretary), Apostle Samuel Osei Asante (Executive Council Member and Kaneshie Area Head), and Prophet David Kankam Beditor (Executive Council Member and Ashaiman Area Head), as well as some Area Heads and Ministry Directors of the Church.

Exhorting the gathering, Apostle Nyamekye encouraged the retirees to give thanks to God always despite the physical distress they may be facing such as sicknesses and the passing of loved ones.

Using Psalm 34:1-3 as a scriptural reference, the Chairman said that it is easier to bless the Lord in good times, but it requires more effort and faith to do that in times of difficulty.

“Do not be perturbed by life’s whirls and issues, only know that a better life is before you,” he stated.

Apostle Nyamekye also pointed out that the soul is the center of a person’s emotions, adding that what one hears, sees, touches, or feels determines the mood of the soul and causes the individual to react in a particular way.

“The soul is not always in a happy mood so extolling the Lord all the days of your life is not always easy, it is actually a sacrifice unto the Lord,” he explained.

The Chairman, therefore, advised the retired ministers to ignore any negative talk and rather focus on the goodness of God by always keeping in mind what the Lord has done for them.

“What leads people to thank the Lord is reflecting on what you see and hear. Think about the goodness of God and let His thanksgiving be on your lips always,” he said.

The exhortation was followed with an intensive prayer session led by the General Secretary.

Prophet David Kankam Beditor, who also heads the Greater-Accra Regional Coordinating Committee of the Church, made a cash donation to the National Association of Retired Ministers and Wives on behalf of all 13 administrative areas of the Church in the region.

In response, Apostle Rigwell Ato Addison (Rtd.), the Chairman of the association, expressed utmost gratitude to the leadership of the Church for their contributions towards the welfare of the retirees.

Among the participants were Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah (Immediate-past Chairman of the Church) and Apostle Samuel K. Ansong (Former Executive Council Member and Area Head).

The retired ministers of the Church in Greater-Accra have been grouped into zones, namely, Ashaiman/Tema, Madina/Haatso, Achimota/ Suhum/Nsawam, Kaneshie, Odorkor/Anyaa-Ablekuma, Kasoa and Teshie Nungua. PENTECOST NEWS

“Moree for Christ” Crusade Yields 206 Souls

“Moree for Christ” Crusade, a four-day evangelism outreach organised by the Cape Coast Area of The Church of Pentecost at the Moree D/A Basic School Park, recorded 206 souls to the glory of God.

The crusade, which was held from November 30 to December 3, 2022, was part of the Area’s activities for the recently-observed November Aggressive Evangelism Month.

The event was held in both morning and evening sessions under the theme: “For The Son of Man Came To Seek and Save the Lost” (Luke 19:10).

The main speakers for the crusade were Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi  (Cape Coast Area Head and Executive Council Member), Apostle Samuel Edzii-Davidson (Offinso Area Head), Apostle Isaac Annan (Mankessim Area Head) and Pastor Samuel Aidoo  (Area Evangelism Ministry Leader and Cape Coast District Minister).

At the end of the event, 145 adults and 61 children surrendered their lives to Christ, 134 persons underwent water baptism, and nine converts received Holy Spirit baptism with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

It is also worth noting that 53 backsliders were won back and led to rededicate their lives to Christ.

There were also several testimonies of instant healings and deliverance from spiritual bondage during the prayer sessions that followed the preaching of the gospel message of Christ.

New Combine District Pastor, Wife Embark On Lunch Evangelism

The New Combine District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Martin Kesse Berko, and his wife Esther, on  November 25, 2022,  stormed the offices of the Ghana National Fire Service and the Police Station at Akosombo with the Gospel.

As part of sharing the word of God with the men and women of the two security agencies, the pastor and his wife served them hot lunch.  

Speaking on the topic, “Jesus as a life-giving Spirit” based on 1 Corinthians 15:45, Pastor Kesse urged the officers to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ and be saved. He stressed that Jesus gives life and that eternal life can only be found and enjoyed in Christ.

He challenged them to walk with Jesus and take Him as their Lord and master. He prayed for them.

To the glory of God, four of the officers later called him and gave their lives to Christ.

In appreciation, the Akosombo Divisional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, Chief Superintendent Isaac Obeng Dompre, and the District Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, DO1 Cecil Addo, were overwhelmed by the gesture of the pastor and his wife.

They commended Pastor & Mrs Kesse for appreciating the effort of the security agencies by sharing the word of God with them and providing them with lunch.

“We are highly motivated and impressed by the action of the pastor and his wife. We bless The Church of Pentecost for training its pastors to impact their societies,” Chief Superintendent Dompre said.
