La Area Unleashes First ‘Apollos Project’ Participants

The La Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, on Sunday, March 16, 2025, unleashed 47 youth who have undergone training, assigning them to various assemblies in the area to preach.

They spoke on the topic, ‘Living Your Faith in the Public Square,’ one of the areas of their training.

The 47 youth, drawn from each of the 23 districts in the area, received a 2-day training held on March 1 and 6, 2025, on the rationale of the 2025 theme of the church and other topics such as: ‘Living for Eternal Rewards,’ ‘Living Your Faith in the Public Square,’ ‘The Practice of Waiting on God Through Fasting and Prayers,’ ‘Revitalising Worship and Fellowship,’ ‘Serving God With Your Possessions,’ and ‘The Value of the Never-Dying Soul.’

Explaining the rationale of the novel project during the training, Apostle Dr Nuekpe, who is an Executive Council member of the church, took inspiration from Acts 18:24-28 and stated that, ‘Apollos was trained at the Oxford of his day. He spoke boldly and eloquently, which is typical of the youth, but lacked understanding of the scriptures.’

He continued that, ‘Priscilla and Aquila did not expose Apollos publicly but rather corrected his theology in private.’

Apostle Dr Nuekpe underscored the importance of pastors and their wives in shaping the theology of the youth, saying, ‘There is a need for the youth to also admit the need to be taught and humble themselves to be taught.’

He concluded by saying, ‘Pastors alone cannot accomplish the task of discipleship in all the locals, hence the need to reproduce themselves in the youth to carry out the mandate. Titles are not needed as Apollos didn’t have the title of Apostle, Pastor, or Elder.’

The Apollos Project is an initiative that seeks to sharpen the youth theologically and unleash them to be a blessing to the local church.

SOM Coordinator Tours Schools In Greater Accra, Wins 142 Souls web

SOM Coordinator Tours Schools In Greater Accra, Wins 142 Souls

The Coordinator for the Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM) of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Frank Mensah Tandoh, has concluded a weeklong working tour of some basic schools in the Greater Accra Region.

During his visit, he conducted grassroots leadership training and participated in inter-circuit sports competitions in several areas, including Haatso, Kasoa, Achimota, and Tema.

At the sports event, Pastor Tandoh seized the opportunity to proclaim the word of God to students, resulting in 142 souls won for Christ. As part of the outreach effort, his team distributed bottled and sachet water as well asTeens Daily Devotional guide to the students.

In his exhortation to the students, Pastor Tandoh urged them to strive for excellence in every aspect of life. Drawing on the biblical metaphor of running a race, he encouraged them to work diligently, foster unity, and celebrate one another’s achievements while keeping their focus on seeking eternal rewards through faith in Jesus Christ rather than earthly accolades.

Pastor Tandoh also led a training session for pastors in the visited areas, an event that underscored SOM’s strategic role within the Vision 2028 agenda.

During the first presentation, titled ‘Breaking the C-Code: Raising the New Generation,’ Pastor Tandoh addressed the impact of cultural influences on children. He noted that not all cultural practices align with godly principles and stressed the need to filter these practices carefully. Emphasising that children form the foundation of society, he warned that neglecting their spiritual growth could lead to broader societal issues.

In his second presentation, Pastor Tandoh outlined SOM’s role in reaching basic schools—from Kindergarten to Junior High School (JHS). He explained that although there is no ministry solely dedicated to basic schools, SOM serves as the official evangelistic strategy for this sector.

Citing statistics on teenagers engaging in multiple sexual partnerships, he highlighted the urgent need for biblical guidance. He urged pastors to view schools as extensions of their assemblies by joining weekly morning worship sessions, donating books and uniforms, renovating facilities, and forming partnerships with the church’s traditional ministries.

Pastor Tandoh also announced that SOM is now an independent ministry, no longer operating under the Youth Ministry. He called for the establishment of five-member committees at both district and local levels to oversee SOM activities.

With 43,328 public basic schools now within SOM’s outreach focus, the ministry remains committed to raising a new generation through intentional engagement with young people, aiming for a lasting impact on both the church and society.

Held under the theme, ‘Unleashed to Live a Life Worthy of Your Calling,’ it was attended by councillors of the church, including National Executive Members, Ministers and their wives, National Ministry Leaders and Assistants, Area Executive Committee Members, Area Ministry Leaders and Assistants, District Ministry Leaders and Assistants, and Presiding Elders.

During the opening session on February 21, Apostle Michael Acquaah, the Stuttgart Area Head, spoke on the topic: ‘Because of Me.’ He highlighted the life of Apostle Paul before his encounter with God and conversion, encouraging councillors and participants to be more involved in church activities and not to discourage those working hard.

Apostle Acquaah emphasised that the church belongs to God, so whatever one does against the church, they do against God, saying, ‘When you speak good things about the church, it is like saying good things about Jesus.’

Delivering the State-of-the-Church Address, National Head Apostle Daniel Ato Eduah thanked God for seeing the church through another year and expressed appreciation on behalf of the National Executives to Ministers and their wives, presiding elders, officers, and the entire membership of the church in Germany for their invaluable contributions and instrumental role in advancing God’s Kingdom and the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda.

Key highlights from his address indicated that the current membership of The Church of Pentecost Germany stood at 10,176 at the end of December 2024, with 19 districts, three areas, and 108 local assemblies.

Again, the total number of officers was 996, comprising 353 Elders, 198 Deacons, and 445 Deaconesses. During the period under review, 485 souls were won, 184 received Holy Spirit baptism, 184 were baptised in water, 173 children were dedicated, 237 backsliders were won back, and eight assemblies were opened.

During the meetings, the National Deacon, Elder Yaw Poku Bota, whose term ended after 17 years of meritorious service, was duly appreciated, as was Deaconess Felicia Darko Sakyi, who served as the National Women’s Ministry Leader for eight years.

Two gallant ministers due to retire this year were also acknowledged with a standing ovation: Apostle Osahene Amankwatia Boateng, the Area Head of Düsseldorf, who has served for 25 years in full-time ministry, and Pastor Isaac Asare Damptey, the District Minister of Hamburg North, who has served for 21 years.

Elder Nana Kojo Peprah of Mannheim District and the Area Deacon for Stuttgart was elected as the new National Deacon, while Deaconess Vivian Anokye of Stuttgart District and the Women’s Ministry Leader for Stuttgart Area was appointed as the National Women’s Ministry Leader. The Other Sheep Ministry Organises Seminar In Ashanti Region web

The Other Sheep Ministry Organises Seminar In Ashanti Region

The Other Sheep Ministry, a newly established initiative within The Church of Pentecost as part of the church’s Vision 2028, has made significant strides in its mission to evangelise individuals of other faiths.

Barely a year after its inception, the ministry organised a seminar for its members in the Ashanti Region to equip them with the necessary knowledge, courage, and strategies for reaching out to those who do not believe in Christ Jesus as the only way to salvation.

Held at the auditorium of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Asokwa in Kumasi, the seminar witnessed a massive turnout with representatives from all 14 Areas of The Church of Pentecost within the Ashanti Region participating. The event aimed to strengthen members’ faith, enhance their understanding of the ministry’s objectives, and provide them with the confidence to share the gospel without fear.

During an interview with Pent Radio, the National Co-ordinator of the ministry, Pastor Abraham Addae Agyemang, passionately encouraged members to embrace their evangelistic calling. He stressed the importance of fearlessly preaching the gospel to people of other faiths, stressing that the transformation and conviction of souls lie in the hands of God.

Pastor Agyemang rooted his message in John 10:16, which states: ‘I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.’

He explained that the ‘other sheep’ referred to in the scripture symbolises individuals who believe in God but have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation. He urged members to spread the message of Christ with love, patience, and wisdom, trusting that God will reveal Himself to those who are yet to come to the full knowledge of Christ.

The seminar saw the attendance of notable figures, including the National Secretary of the ministry, Pastor Daniel Gyekye, and Pastor Luke Nemen Sei, the Ashanti Regional Co-ordinator and National Executive Member, alongside other key leaders of the ministry.

Elder & Mrs. Bempong Retire After Decades Of Meritorious Service web

Elder Charles Bempong, a stalwart officer of The Church of Pentecost in Asamankese, alongside his wife, Deaconess Vida Bempong, have gracefully retired from active service yesterday.

At 73, Elder Bempong has been a pillar of strength for the church, particularly during a period of recent challenges within the Asamankese Area. His unwavering support has been instrumental in navigating these difficulties.

The retirement service was officiated by Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, and was attended by notable dignitaries, including Apostle Aidoo (Asamankese Area Head), Apostle Francis Yaw Adu (Nsawam Area Head), and Apostle Nana Yaw Agyei (Kade Area Head).

Elder Charles Bempong first embraced Christ and was baptised by immersion into The Church of Pentecost on January 6, 1974, under the leadership of the late Prophet M.K. Yeboah (who later became Chairman), in Koforidua. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1983 and elevated to Elder in 1984. Over the years, he has held numerous leadership positions, including Presiding Elder at both Emmanuel Assembly (Koforidua District) and Amantra Assembly (Asamankese Anum District).

Deaconess Vida Bempong committed her life to Christ in 1972 and joined The Church of Pentecost. Her steadfast dedication to the Lord’s work led to her ordination as a Deaconess in 1987 by Apostle F.D. Walker. She has also served in various leadership roles, including as Local Women’s Ministry Leader at both Koforidua Adawso and Emmanuel Assembly (Koforidua).

Together, Elder and Deaconess Bempong have faithfully served the Lord and The Church of Pentecost for 42 and 38 years, respectively, before their retirement from active service last Sunday.

During the service, Amantra Assembly and the Anum Asamankese District honoured the couple for their exceptional contributions to the growth and development of the Church, presenting them with citations in recognition of their dedicated service.

We Are Not Reformed or Repaired, But Recreated In Christ - Apostle Obuobi web

We Are Not Reformed or Repaired, But Recreated In Christ – Apostle Obuobi Assures Believers

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, emphasised that being a new creation in Christ means being made anew and equipped for every good work.

He made this statement on March 15, 2025, during the retirement service held in honour of Elder Charles and Deaconess Mrs. Vida Bempong at the Amantra Assembly in the Anum Asamankese District of The Church of Pentecost.

Speaking on the topic, “Understanding the New Creation,” Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi explained that God created all things before creating mankind.

He highlighted that one of humanity’s primary purposes is to steward the world that God had created, referencing Genesis 1:28.

According to him, God provided everything necessary for mankind to manage the world effectively, including external resources like water, trees, and other provisions, as well as internal resources, such as the gifts and talents embedded in every human being.

However, Apostle Obuobi noted that due to the fall caused by disobedience, man became spiritually dead. This necessitated the creation of a new man. He further explained that every believer experiences two births—physical and spiritual. While physical birth is common to all, spiritual rebirth occurs only in Christ.

This, he further noted, was what Jesus explained to Nicodemus that one must be “born again” to enter the Kingdom of God.

Apostle Obuobi stressed that this new birth is only possible in Christ, and it is those who experience this rebirth who are called the new creation.

He clarified that the new creation does not imply a mere reformation, rehabilitation, or repair of the person, but rather, a complete recreation in Christ Jesus, making them a “brand new man.”

While there is no physical transformation in a person’s appearance when they are born again, the process is entirely spiritual. “You are who God says you are. If God says anyone in Christ is a new creation, who are you to doubt? Just accept that you are a brand new man,” he affirmed.

Apostle Obuobi emphasised that one of the key purposes of the new creation is to worship the Creator, stating, “We have been saved to serve our King.” As new creations, believers are expected to serve God and pursue righteousness.

He further explained that the Kingdom believers belong to has its own set of principles and values. It is their responsibility to carry these principles and values into the world, establishing them until the kingdoms of the world align with that of God.

Reading from Ephesians 5, he explained that the new creation is made in the image and likeness of God, designed to become like Him. “As a result, we have what it takes to live a life of righteousness and holiness,” he stated.

Apostle Obuobi defined holiness as living the God-kind of life that reflects His character, including love, faithfulness, and other virtues that represent the Fruit of the Spirit in the believer.

He also pointed out that the new creation is created for good works (Ephesians 2:10) and should eagerly engage in them (Titus 2:11-14). He reminded the congregation that the new creation is God’s ambassador on earth, carrying the authority of heaven.

“The most powerful creation on earth is the new creation, because they have the authority of heaven backing them at all times,” he declared. However, he urged believers to always remember that one day the Creator will call them home, and this truth should influence how they live their lives.

First Batch Of 71 Emerging Leaders Graduate web

First Batch Of 71 Emerging Leaders Graduate

Seventy-one converts, won through the activities of the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost, have successfully completed the Emerging Leaders training programme and graduated.

The novel training model, initiated by the National Co-ordinator of HUM, Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, began in 2024 with about 400 participants. However, after rigorous selection and training processes, only 71 individuals completed the programme and were awarded certificates.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, which marked the climax of a 3-day Emerging Leaders Conference – Southern Sector session, on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, Apostle Kwafo congratulated the trainees for their passion and commitment to the course.

Out of the total number, 35 graduated in Kumasi during the Northern Sector conference held recently at PCC-Brofoyedu, while 36 graduated from the Southern Sector, with some participants coming from neighbouring Togo.

Apostle Kwafo urged them to live transformed lifestyles, as they are potential leaders in their local assemblies and districts. He further encouraged them to prioritise Vision 2028 of The Church of Pentecost and HUM’s vision.

He disclosed that a new cohort would be enrolled this year and would graduate next year.

‘Our expectation is that by the time Vision 2028 comes to an end, we would have trained about 400 people,’ he said, urging the trainees to live out the teachings they have received to become ambassadors of Christ, the church, and HUM, using their transformed lifestyles to draw more marginalised and unreached people to Christ.

Speaking on the topic, ‘How to Win in Christ,’ based on 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, the HUM National Co-ordinator stated that God has called many, but every believer must ensure they finish their race well.

‘Not everyone who comes to Christ/church has heaven in focus, so check your friends. Many run the race, but only one person gets the ultimate prize. Serve God like you are running a race and want to reach the finish line. Aim at the finish line,’ he stated.

He added, ‘If you want to win in Christ, understand that no success comes without training. Train your heart and mind using the word of God. We need discipline to pray for long hours. All the spiritual gifts are received through prayer and intensive waiting on God.’

Among the facilitators at the conference, which took place from March 12-15, 2025, were Pastors Paul Kojo Mahama (NEC Member, HUM), Emmanuel Foster Asamoah (NEC Secretary, HUM), Mrs Abigail Ofei Badu (NEC Member, HUM), Pastor Jeremie Atakpa (Aflao Area HUM Co-ordinator), and Dr Grace Owusu Aboagye. Topics covered included Church Doctrine, Integrity, Repentance, Mental Health, The Value of Hard Work, and Church Polity.

Children’s Director Launches ‘Children In Creation Care’ Project

The Director of the Children’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Samuel Avornyo, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, launched the ‘Children in Creation Care’ campaign.

The initiative is part of the ministry’s 2028 Strategic Plan, which aims to Win, Wean, and Unleash godly children to transform their world.

The event, held at Elmina Central Assembly in the Elmina Area, gathered nearly 2,000 children, children’s workers, and ministers and their wives. Among the notable attendees was Deaconess Prof. Rebecca Dei Mensah, a National Executive Committee Member of the Children’s Ministry.

During the event, children were educated on managing and disposing of plastic waste. Pastor Avornyo indicated that God, the creator and owner of all things, expects everyone, including children, to care for His creation.

In an interview with Pent News, Pastor Avornyo remarked, ‘As a ministry, we believe that while the annual environmental care campaign is beneficial, it is insufficient to tackle the environmental challenges we face as a society. Therefore, we aim to make creation care a lifestyle for the children.’

He expressed optimism that the project would be implemented at all levels. He announced that from now on, every child would be encouraged to plant a tree on their birthday, a measure he hopes will combat the nation’s deforestation issues.

‘Plans are well underway to integrate creation care into the Children’s Ministry curriculum,’ he revealed.

To commemorate the day, a memorial tree was planted.
