The Asankrangwa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Daniel Dekpor, has encouraged all and sundry to take a decisive step toward their salvation.

He said that once they take this step, God will save them and give them a new life in Christ.

“In the presence of the Lord, salvation is ever-present and accessible,” he explained. 

He revealed this in a sermon he delivered during the “Asankrangwa For Christ” Crusade at Boadum Park in Asankrangwa.

Apostle Dekpor stated that the same divine power that raised Jesus from the dead is actively at work in the present, irrespective of the challenges one may face.

Quoting from Acts 3:15 and 1 John 5:11, he said the creation account in Genesis, where God transformed the formless Earth through His spoken word, bringing order and light. 

Apostle Dekpor said it was on this very day that God infused life into the Earth.

This, according to Apostle Dekpor, signifies the profound significance of Jesus as the source of life. 

He explained that just as God’s spoken word brought life to creation, belief in Jesus brings life to the believer.

Apostle Dekpor encouraged the congregation, stating, “You simply need to take that crucial step to accept Jesus, and God will save you.”

He illustrated the three significant events in Genesis: the creation of Adam and Eve, their relationship with God, and the entry of sin, causing a breakdown in that relationship. Nevertheless, he said, God’s love was demonstrated as He covered their nakedness, signifying the beginning of regeneration.

Drawing from Ephesians 2:1, Apostle Dekpor emphasised the power of Jesus to bring life even in situations where sin leads to death. He recounted the story of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, close friends of Jesus, and how Jesus, though arriving three days after Lazarus’s death, displayed His authority over death.

“Salvation and healing are not distant promises; they are immediate realities available to you now through belief in the Son of God,” he revealed.

Apostle Dekpor declared that regardless of the gravity of one’s situation, be it an addiction, immorality, or spiritual death, Jesus has the power to transform lives. He underscored that Jesus is the sole source of life in any situation.

He continued: “Life is not found in anyone other than Jesus Christ. When you accept Jesus as your personal Saviour, He doesn’t merely coexist with you; He takes control of your life, granting you a divine nature, and nothing can stand against you. With Christ within you, your life becomes extraordinary.”

Elder Stephen Awuah Kesse of the Agona Prayer Centre of The Church of Pentecost has emphasised the importance of seeing oneself as a victor, regardless of life’s circumstances.

Speaking on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Mckeown Temple in Asankrangwa New Town, on the topic: “Champion In A Cave,” Elder Kesse reminded believers that even in the face of adversity, victory is assured because God is always with them.

Drawing from 1 Samuel 22:1-2, Elder Kesse cited the trials and tribulations of David, who remained steadfast in his faith despite being pursued by King Saul. 

He encouraged believers not to be disheartened by their problems but to trust in God’s ability to deliver them. 

He stressed that being a champion means having no fear and confronting every situation with courage. This courage, he said, comes from fasting, praying, and reading the word of God.

The sermon also underscored the importance of knowing that God is always with believers and that He hears their prayers. 

Elder Kesse urged believers to develop a strong relationship with God and maintain constant communication with Him.

He urged believers to see themselves as champions, capable of overcoming obstacles through faith and courage.

The Nsawam Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Francis Yaw Adu, has advised Christians to seek Jesus Christ and know him personally for a fulfilled life.

Speaking on the topic, “Salvation Will Come To Your House,” at the Boadum Park, Asankrangwa, during the Asankrangwa For Christ Crusade, Apostle Adu described the crusade as a life-giving event because Jesus Christ, the author of life, was present to heal and save people. He said that wherever Jesus is, there is no room for death but only life and glory.

He read from Luke 19:1-10 and said that Jesus was passing through Asankrangwa to bless and transform lives. 

The Nsawam Area Head urged Christians to seek to know Jesus personally, not just by hearsay. He stressed that Jesus is a loving and powerful God who can save and deliver people from sin and bondage.

He used the example of Zacchaeus, a wealthy but despised tax collector who climbed a tree to see Jesus. 

According to him, Zacchaeus was a wise man who overcame his limitations and obstacles to encounter Jesus, saying, “It takes serious and determined people to see Jesus and receive his salvation.”

Apostle Yaw Adu said that when Jesus saw Zacchaeus, he called him by name and invited him to his house, stressing that this was a sign of grace and favour for Zacchaeus, who welcomed Jesus joyfully. 

He noted that when Jesus enters a house, he brings transformation and restoration, indicating that Zacchaeus was changed by his encounter with Jesus and became a generous and righteous man.

Apostle Francis Adu concluded his sermon by inviting everyone who wanted to receive Jesus into their lives to come forward and pray with him. 

“Today, salvation will come to your house, just as it did for Zacchaeus,” he assured.

The Offinso area of The Church of Pentecost, on Wednesday, 25th October 2023, launched the Church’s annual evangelistic initiative, dubbed “One Member, One Discipled Soul,” at the Offinso New Town Central Assembly auditorium.

The Area Head, Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson, spoke on the theme: ‘Praying with Soul Winning,’ with scriptural references from John 15:16, Luke 10:1-2, 22:35, and Mark 16:20 at the event.

He introduced his sermon with the fact that every saint in the kingdom of God has been called to bear fruit that will last; hence, it is mandatory for Christians to partner with God in rescuing souls from the pit of hell and satanic enslavement.

He pointed out that when one is sent by God, there is divine provision in the sending; hence, Christians who heed God’s call of soul-winning will receive answers to their prayers.

Apostle Edzii Davidson emphasised the impact soul-winning has on the believer’s prayer life.

“Your consignment is in your assignment, and as you discharge your assignment, you receive your consignment,” he said.

He further noted that when the believer pursues evangelism, which is God’s priority, God will, in turn, pursue their priority.

“If the interest of God becomes your interest, your interest becomes God’s interest,” he said.

In bringing his message to a close, the Offinso Area Head charged members to make themselves fully available to be used by God to snatch at least one soul from hell before November comes to an end.

Present at the ceremony were the Area Head’s wife, Mrs. Winifred Edzii Davidson, and the Offinso Area Pastorate, together with their wives.

Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin, the Director of the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, has disclosed that no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born again. 

He explained that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to the world to give humanity a new life that can transform and make them eligible for God’s kingdom.

He revealed this on October 24, 2023, during the opening of the “Asankrangwa For Christ” Crusade, which is happening at the Boadum Park, Asankrangwa in the Western Region.

Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin said that Jesus Christ spoke with authority and finality when he told Nicodemus, a teacher of the law, that unless one is born again, he cannot see or enter the kingdom of God. According to him, this statement was not a suggestion or an opinion but a decisive decision that cannot be changed through time and eternity.

He disclosed that there are two worlds – the physical and spiritual worlds. He explained that people are born of flesh and blood in the physical world, but in the spiritual world, one needs to be born of water and the Spirit.

He stressed: “The physical world has an expiry date, but the spiritual world is eternal. After death, there is judgment, and everyone will face either heaven or hell.”

The Evangelism Director noted that heaven is the kingdom of God, where God dwells with his angels and his people, saying, “Heaven is a place of eternal life, hope, joy, and peace.” 

He, however, said that hell is the kingdom of darkness and fire, where Satan and his demons torment those who reject God, and that it is a place of eternal death, despair, pain, and suffering.

He revealed that because all men are sinners and fall short of God’s glory, they cannot inherit the kingdom of God by their own efforts or merits but need another life that can give birth to them again, and that life is Jesus Christ.

Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin said that Jesus Christ is the author of life who sacrificed himself for the sins of humanity on the cross. He added that Jesus Christ rose from the dead with power and glory and has overcome death and sin. 

He mentioned that Jesus Christ came for the rejected, the lost, the broken-hearted, and the hopeless. 

He furthermore stated that Jesus Christ invites us to be born again by repenting of our sins and receiving him as our Lord and Saviour.

Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin concluded by urging everyone to respond to the call of Jesus Christ and be born again. 

“That is the only way to enter God’s kingdom and enjoy his blessings forever,” he ended.

The “Asankrangrwa For Christ” Crusade began on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, and is expected to end on Friday, October 27, 2023, with a free medical outreach on Saturday.

The Tamale Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle John Budu K. Tawiah, has asserted that evangelism is a divine assignment for every Christian, making it a responsibility for all believers.

Apostle Tawiah made this assertion during the launch of the 2023 edition of the “One Member, One Discipled Soul” initiative in the Tamale Area.

Addressing the attendees at the event, Apostle Tawiah corrected the misconception that evangelism is reserved for a select few, asserting that the command of Christ in Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-18 was directed to all believers.

“As Christians, we must view evangelism as an obligation aimed at reaching the millions who do not know Christ,” he stated.

Apostle Tawiah defined evangelism as the proclamation of the gospel of the Kingdom of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, with the purpose of winning souls and making them disciples of Christ.

He underlined the importance of vigorous evangelism before the second coming of Christ (Matthew 24:14).

He, however, stressed that the process of evangelism is not complete until the won soul is discipled and established in the Christian faith.

The task of proclaiming the gospel remains unfinished until the fruit (souls) that emerges remains in Christ,” he explained.

Apostle Tawiah urged every believer to follow the example of the early apostles and become soul winners.

He underscored the urgency for more soul winners, as there are numerous individuals untouched by the Gospel and in danger.

He, therefore, encouraged Christians to have compassion for lost souls and to engage in a rescue mission, as the church’s purpose is to save the lost.

Apostle Tawiah also  implored Christians to embrace evangelism as a divine obligation, emphasising the need for more soul winners given the growing population.

He cautioned against the tendency to focus on internal matters at the expense of evangelism and reminded Christians that God rewards those who win souls and disciple them.

Apostle Tawiah listed reasons for Christians to share the Gospel, including freedom from sin, salvation, forgiveness, and hope.

Concluding his message, the Tamale Area Head highlighted the qualities of effective soul winners, including being Holy Spirit-filled, having compassion for souls, prayerfulness, a deep knowledge of the Bible, exemplary Christian living, and showing value for the soul.

The “One Member, One Discipled Soul” initiative, introduced by The Church Of Pentecost, encourages members to engage in aggressive evangelism during the month of November each year to enhance soul-winning efforts.

The launch ceremony had in attendance Mrs. Agartha Tawiah (Wife of the Area Head), ministers and their spouses of the Church in the Tamale Metropolitan Area, along with various officers and members.

A total of 73 souls gave their lives to Jesus Christ on Day One of the ‘Asankrangwa For Christ’ Crusade, which started on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. 

About 20 others rededicated their lives to Christ, while 61 new converts received water baptism, with five receiving Holy Spirit baptism.

The crusade, which will end on Friday, October 27, 2023, is taking place at Asankrangwa in the Western Region. It is spearheaded by the Evangelism Ministry, led by Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin, in collaboration with the Asankrangwa Area, under the leadership of Apostle Daniel Dekpor. 

Present on the first day were Apostle Francis Yaw Adu (Nsawam Area Head), Pastor Charles Fosu (Asankrangwa Area Secretary), Pastor Adjei-Nimako Darkwa (Evangelism Ministry National Secretary), and other Evangelism Ministry NEC Members.

The crusade will be followed by a free medical outreach on Saturday, October 28, 2023, to provide health care services to the people of Asankrangwa and its environs.

The Odorkor Area of The Church of Pentecost has launched this year’s “One Member; One Discipled Soul” initiative with a call on Christians to aggressively share the good news of Jesus to all.

The event took place on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Odorkor Central Assembly church auditorium and was chaired by Area Head, Apostle Isaac Tetteh Judah, with support from the area pastorate including Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe (Head of Theology Department at Pentecost University and Resident Minister of A-Lang Worship Centre) and Pastor Abraham Addae Agyeman (Area Evangelism Ministry Leader and Odorkor District Minister).

The well-attended event witnessed the participation of over 500 persons drawn from all 21 districts within the Area.

Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, preaching on the topic ‘Jesus: Good News to the World’ with scripture reference from Luke 2:10, emphasised that Jesus died to atone for the sins of all humanity. Therefore, it is paramount to share this good news with people worldwide.

He stressed that it is the duty of Christians, having received this knowledge, to share it with others so that they would also come into the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus and escape eternal damnation.

In a brief remark, Apostle Tetteh Judah called upon members of the Area to actively engage in the month-long project by fervently proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ wherever they find themselves in order to save those who are perishing.

He also encouraged participants to launch the project at their respective districts and local assemblies while urging members to be actively involved in aggressive evangelism exercise.

As part of the strategies outlined for the aggressive evangelism month, the Area Head announced that any district that is able to record 500 souls during this period will receive a grant of GHS 10,000.00 from the Area.

A powerful revival swept through the event as the Area Head led the participants in a heartfelt prayer session and in singing some Evangelism Ministry songs.

The “One Member, One Discipled Soul” concept, conceived by the Evangelism Ministry as part of the church’s five-year strategic plan (Vision 2023), designates November each year for Aggressive Evangelism. This initiative aligns with the main mandate of Christ to His disciples, which is to go into the world, win souls for God, and disciple them accordingly.

The Director of the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin, visited the Chiefs of Asankrangwa and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wassa Amenfie in the Western Region on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, to interact with them ahead of the ‘Asankrangwa for Christ Crusade.’

The visit was part of the preparations towards the upcoming crusade in Asankrangwa, which is scheduled to take place from October 24 to 27, 2023.

The representative of the Chief of Asankrangwa, Nana Kwesi Addae, expressed his appreciation to the pastors and the chiefs who accompanied the Evangelism Ministry team. He commended The Church of Pentecost for its contribution to the development of the town and the country at large.

He said that the church is well-known for its soul-winning and social service activities. He also praised the leadership of the church for supporting local churches to build their own structures.

He urged the church to leave a lasting impression on the land by doing something extraordinary that would attract many people to Christ. According to him, he and his people would attend the crusade and witness the power of God. He also asked for God’s blessings on the programme.

The sub-chiefs also spoke highly of The Church of Pentecost and its leadership. They said that the church has grown rapidly because of its adherence to the fear of God and truth.

The chiefs believe that the crusade would bring blessings to the town and its people and help reduce social vices such as prostitution, gambling, and road accidents, which are prevalent in the area.

Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin thanked the Chief and his elders for their warm reception and hospitality. He said that the team was sent by God to spread the good news of salvation to the people.

He said that the church recently held a successful crusade in Kumasi and were expecting greater things in Asankrangwa.

He gave them the details of the crusade and assured them that God would perform miracles, signs, and wonders among them.

He said that their main mandate was to reveal God to the people and to mobilise them to experience His power at the crusade grounds.

The Evangelism Ministry team also presented gifts, money, packs of water, and drinks to the Chiefs and elders as a token of their love and respect.

Later in the day, the team also met with Honourable Eric Afful, the MP for Wassa Amenfie. He  thanked the team for their friendship and partnership with his office.

According to Hon. Afful, he always joined the church for its programmes and appreciated its efforts in improving education and health in the community.

He also mentioned some of the challenges facing the area, such as road accidents, prostitution, and illegal mining. He was hopeful that the church would play a vital role in curbing these social vices through its preaching and sensitisation.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Asankrangwa, Honourable Lord Nana Tandoh, also joined the meeting and echoed similar sentiments. He said that as Ghana’s population increases, so does its problems.

He said that this was the time for the people to make a difference by living according to God’s will. He was hopeful that the church would continue to preach to people and inspire them to change their lives for the better.

The Evangelism Ministry team thanked them for their time and support and assured them of their prayers. They also invited them to attend the crusade and witness what God would do in their midst.

The Kade Area pastorate of The Church of Pentecost, led by the Area Head, Apostle Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei, together with their wives, recently embarked on a house-to-house evangelism exercise resulting in 190 persons surrendering their lives to Christ.

The exercise was carried out in three districts in the area, namely Pramkese, Abaam, and Akyem Akropong.

The initiative, which is the brainchild of the Area Head, took place on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Addressing the outreach participants prior to the exercise, Apostle Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei said that the core duty of every Christian is to win souls for the Lord, and it behooves ministers and wives to lead by example in fulfilling this divine mandate.

The members of the Kade Area Prayer Team and some officers of the three districts also took part in the exercise.

Among the 190 who accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour were drug addicts and Muslims.

Following the success of the outreach, the Kade Area Head has hinted at a second exercise in other selected districts.
