Young Women Urged to Approach Exclusive Relationships With Care web

Young Women Urged to Approach Exclusive Relationships With Care

Mrs. Mary Nana Aba Mensah, the wife of the Resident Minister for the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Atomic, has advised single young ladies to be circumspect in choosing their life partners.

Speaking in a presentation titled “Dating Without Dying” at the ongoing “ABIDEDOES Conference” organised by the Women’s Ministry of The Church Of Pentecost, Mrs. Aba Mensah explained that modern dating often carries worldly connotations, driven by motives such as pleasure, financial gain, family pressure, or the pursuit of physical satisfaction.

She cautioned, however, that embracing the world’s perspective on dating can lead to bitterness, unforgiveness, depression, and even jeopardize one’s physical health with the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Additionally, she pointed out that such relationships often fail to culminate in lasting marriages.

Using Proverbs 6, Romans 12:2, and Proverbs 25:25 as scripture references; she emphasized that dating stands distinct from both a proposal and marriage.

The importance of personal boundaries was underscored, with Mrs. Mensah emphasising that boundaries are like protective walls for individuals and maintaining these boundaries is essential for emotional and spiritual well-being.

Mrs. Mensah encouraged individuals not to develop a sense of entitlement or ownership in the dating process, advocating for humility and mutual respect.

She also stressed that dating within a Christian circle can foster spiritual growth and ensure alignment of values.

She, however, advised single ladies to evaluate a potential partner’s circle of friends and their faith as a vital step in the process.

Mrs. Mensah advised beginning with group dating rather than immediately entering an exclusive relationship.

“This approach allows individuals to study the character and values of their potential partners from a distance before becoming more intimately involved”, she further explained.

She encouraged individuals to be themselves, not pretending or compromising their standards to impress someone.

Mrs. Mensah highlighted the importance of maintaining one’s values and integrity throughout the dating journey.

“When considering a potential partner, focus on spiritual attributes such as the fruits of the Spirit and doctrinal alignment, rather than being solely swayed by physical appearances”, she said.

The PIWC-Atomic Resident Minister’s wife advised against becoming overly emotionally involved during the dating phase, emphasising the importance of saving the deeper emotional connections for marriage.

Concluding her presentation, Mrs. Mensah urged individuals to find joy in their relationship with God, stressing that delighting in the Lord will lead to the fulfillment of desires from a place of spiritual strength and contentment.

Live By The Values Of The Virtuous Woman – Mrs. Nyamekye Tells Christian Women

Mrs. Mary Nyamekye, the wife of the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, has urged Christian women to strive to live up to the biblical standards and values of the Virtuous Woman.

Mrs. Nyamekye gave this advice when she fellowshipped with women in the Kaneshie Area of the Church at the Kaneshie Central Assembly church auditorium today.

Speaking on the topic: “Who is a Woman,” with Genesis 2:19-23, Proverbs 31, and John 4:1-30 as her main scripture references, Mrs. Nyamekye explained that God created all things for the benefit of humanity, and that is why He gave mankind dominion over all that He created.

According to her, “It was God who gave man the power to name everything He had created. This is because He created man in His own image, so He has empowered us to do what He is able to do.”

She further noted that the woman was also created to serve as a suitable helper to the man.

She said that, in order to live up to their mandate as helpers, they ought to demonstrate the exemplary qualities of the Virtuous Woman in Proverbs 31.

She noted that the virtuous woman is God-fearing and one who has a quiet spirit.

She, therefore, urged women to lead exemplary lives wherever they find themselves, especially at the workplace, saying: “You are an agent of transformation at the workplace.”

Mrs. Nyamekye further noted that a virtuous woman is generous, industrious, and prudent. She urged women to work hard to cater to the needs of their family and not to be lazy.

She also advised them to live peacefully with others and to support their husbands and ministers to excel in their God-given mandate.

Referring to the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan Woman in John 4:1-30, Mrs. Nyamekye said that despite her predicament, Jesus was able to change her fortunes for the better.

She, therefore, assured the women of God’s abundant grace, saying that Jesus will bring hope into every hopeless situation.

The event was graced by Apostle Samuel Osei Asante (Kaneshie Area Head and Executive Council Member of the Church), Mrs. Elizabeth Asante (Wife of the Area Head), Mrs. Philomina Mireku (Women’s Ministry Director), Area Women’s Ministry Executive Committee members, and a host of others.

Women’s Director Pays Working Visit To Effiduase Area

The Director of the Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Mrs. Philomena Mireku, has paid a two-day working visit to the Effiduase Area of the Church.

Mrs. Mireku was accompanied on the visit by Mrs. Comfort Quampah and Deaconess Ellen Vigbedor, both members of the ministry’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

The visit, which started on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, saw the delegation fellowshipping with the women in the Effiduase, Akyem Tafo and Begoro zones of the Area.

Speaking to the women, Mrs. Mireku said the purpose of the visit was to extend her heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for her unwavering support and dedication to the Women’s Ministry.

She thanked the womenfolk of the area for their active involvement during the recently-held Mid-Year Reports Reading and encouraged them to keep up the good work.

“Your contributions have been pivotal in building an impactful and thriving church community. Your commitment and efforts are truly inspiring. Thank you for being a cornerstone of strength and positivity in our journey,” she said.

Speaking on the theme, “Repositioning the Family as a tool for Maximum Impact in the Local Church”, with reference from Titus 2:1-5, and Proverbs 31:10-28, the Women’s Ministry Director drew lessons from the Puritans’ approach to church and marriage: Mrs. Mireku emphasised the importance of building a marriage on strong biblical principles, just as the Puritans focused on aligning their lives with Scripture.

She encouraged wives to cultivate spiritual unity with their husbands, as Puritan couples often shared a deep commitment to their faith.

To spur on, she strongly recommended that wives practice self-discipline and self-control, mirroring the Puritans’ emphasis on self-improvement and moral integrity.

The Women’s Director highlighted the Puritans’ dedication to prayer and devotional life, inspiring wives to prioritise regular prayer and spiritual growth within their marriages.

She noted the Puritan perspective on submission within marriage, emphasising the balance between mutual respect and a wife’s willingness to follow her husband’s lead.

Teaching the value of a servant-heart, similar to the Puritans’ emphasis on humility and serving one another in love, she admonished. She explored the Puritan ideals of contentment and gratitude, encouraging wives to find joy in their roles and blessings within their marriages.

As a courageous and charismatic leader, Mrs. Mireku emphasised the importance of cultivating strong character traits such as patience, kindness, and forgiveness, which were valued by the Puritans and contributed to a healthy marriage.

She also urged the women to embrace the practice of family worship, as Puritan families often gathered together for prayer, Bible study, and reflection.

Mrs. Mireku highlighted the Puritans’ sense of community and accountability within the church, encouraging wives to seek support and guidance from other believers.

Mrs. Mireku, therefore, encouraged Women, including mothers and wives, to prioritise their health care because taking care of their well-being allows them to fulfil their roles and responsibilities better.

By maintaining good health, they can provide better care for their families, be more productive at work, and enjoy a higher quality of life. Prioritising health care also sets a positive example for their loved ones, encouraging them to do the same.

In her final submission, Mrs. Mireku reiterated the importance of Christian wives serving their husbands with joy as rooted in the concept of mutual love, respect, and partnership within a marriage.

She noted that this nurturing relationship is based on trust, support, and shared responsibilities. While the idea of “serving” can vary, it should be understood as an expression of care and selflessness, where both partners contribute to each other’s well-being and growth.

Finally, she emphasised how joyful service fosters a harmonious and fulfilling marriage, allowing both individuals to thrive emotionally, spiritually, and personally.

The meeting was honoured by the Effiduase Area Head and wife, Pastor Stephen and Mrs. Okyere Acheampong, the Area Pastorate and their spouses, Women’s Ministry leaders and Executive Committee members, as well as officers and members of the Church.

Reflecting on the biblical principle of valuing and utilising all members of the body of Christ for effective and holistic ministry, Mrs. Mireku and her team used the opportunity of the visit to organise training empowerment for Women’s Ministry leaders and officers’ wives in the Church on fostering diversity of perspectives, promoting inclusive leadership, and maximising the potential of the women in the Church.

Christian Women Must Serve As Role Models In The Church & Community - Mrs. Mary Nyamekye

Christian Women Must Serve As Role Models In The Church & Community – Mrs. Mary Nyamekye

Mrs. Mary Nyamekye, the wife of the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, has said that Christian women possess a unique capacity to nurture spiritual growth and serve as role models within the local church and the community.

Mrs Nyamekye gave this charge to Christian women on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, when she participated in the recently-held weekly prayer meeting of the Kasoa Area Women’s Ministry at the Mountain View Worship Centre, Tuba.

Referencing Titus 2:3-5, she encouraged older women to teach younger women and to lead by example in matters of faith, love, purity, and homemaking.

Mrs. Nyamekye also stated that prayer holds immense power in the life of the church, hence like Hannah (1 Samuel 1:10-11) Christian women can fervently intercede for the needs of the congregation, the leaders, and the community.

“Women can lead prayer groups, organise prayer events, and encourage others to deepen their prayer lives,” she said, adding that by exemplifying a life of prayer, they can inspire other women to embrace the transformative power of intercession.

Mrs Nyamekye also emphasised the importance of hospitality and its significant avenue for Christian women to create an environment of warmth, love, and acceptance within the church community.

Referring to Romans 12:13, she said women help strengthen the church’s hospitality by facilitating gatherings, welcoming newcomers, and ensuring that everyone feels included and cared for.

“The efforts made in creating a hospitable atmosphere can foster meaningful connections and facilitate the growth of the church family, ” she said.

The wife of the Chairman further encouraged Christian women to possess valuable insights and gifts that can contribute to the teaching and discipleship ministries within the local church.

She cited Priscilla in Acts 18:26, who, alongside her husband Aquila, rightly divided the word of God and helped in expounding the way of the Lord to Apollos.

“Likewise, women can actively participate in Bible studies, Sunday School classes, or Women’s Ministry groups, where they can share their knowledge and passion for God’s word,” she said

Touching on the impact of Christian women on the community, Mrs. Nyamekye said they can actively engage in serving the community by demonstrating Christ’s love through compassionate actions.

She explained that since Christians are enjoined by Scriptures  to do good to all (Galatians 6:10), Christian women must also reach out to their communities through outreach programmes, support charitable initiatives, and encourage others to participate in acts of service.

“By embodying Christ’s love in practical ways, Christian women can inspire others to impact their local communities as well,” she said.

Mrs. Nyamekye ended her message by challenging women to rise to the occasion and make an impactful difference within the local church by embracing their roles as spiritual nurturers, prayer warriors, hospitable hosts, teachers, and servants, they can positively influence those around them.
