The Agorve-Woe District Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has donated assorted items worth GH¢2,000.00 to the Orthopaedic ward of Keta Municipal Hospital as well as the Dzidzorve Clinic.

The items donated included baby diapers, soaps, drinks, biscuits, toilet rolls, bags of water, amongst others.

The event, which took place on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, was to demonstrate the Church’s social responsibility to the children at the health institutions and the general public.

The outgoing District Women’s Ministry leader, Deaconess Esther Dziewornu in her address stated that “Christianity can only be meaningful to our society when we show them the love of Christ. This love of Christ compels us to give genuinely with no strings attached.”

The medical administrator at the Hospital Mr. Farouck Adams Iddrisu and the In-charge of the Dzidzorve Clinic, Madam Adatorwovor who received the items on behalf of the hospital and the clinic respectively, were delighted that the church had shown their facilities such act of benevolence.

Present at the event were Pastor Francis Lamptey and wife, Mrs. Linda Lamptey (Agorve-Woe District Minister), Ms. Sarah Mensah (Nursing officer and Paediatric nurse and in-charge, children’s ward), Mrs. Dafeamekpor Deenu (Nurse Manager), Staff of the Keta Municipal Hospital children’s ward, staff of Dzidzorve Clinic, Agorve-Woe District and Local Women’s Ministry Executive.

The Odorkor Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has generously donated 150 pieces of cloth (6 yards each) to be distributed among the Yendi and Goaso Areas, as well as the Church in Zimbabwe.

The donation was presented to the Area Head, Apostle Isaac Tetteh Juddah, by a delegation from the Women’s Ministry, led by the ministry leader, Deaconess Mrs. Cynthia Ankomah, for onward distribution to the beneficiaries. The brief presentation ceremony took place at Area Office in Accra.

Speaking to PENTECOST NEWS, Deaconess Ankomah stated that the cloths would be evenly shared among the three beneficiaries, ensuring that each receives 50 pieces.

The Virtuous Ladies’ wing of the Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost in New Combine District has organised a three-day free entrepreneurship training for young ladies and persons living with disabilities (PWDs) in Akosombo and its environs.

The Network for Societal Transformation, headed by Elder Okyere, led the training, which was sponsored by the church for 100 young ladies, 50 of whom were members of the church and 50 non-members from the community, including Muslims. The PWDs were also sponsored to participate in the training, providing them with free transportation and feeding.

The training covered a variety of business skills, including the production of Communion Wine, Laundry Soap, Azuma Blows Soap, Hair conditioner, Fish farming, Snail farming, Biodigester, Tom Brown, Banana bread, Cake, Local drinks, Wedding hats, Fascinators, Wedding Bucanes, Stretch Mark Creams, Christmas hampers, Bridal make ups, and Spring roll, among others.

According to the organisers of the training, the programme was aimed at addressing the economic crisis in Akosombo and its environs, where unemployment has led some young ladies into social vices such as prostitution, fornication, stealing, and drug addiction, resulting in high rates of teenage pregnancies in basic schools in the area. The training provided young ladies with sustainable job opportunities through skill training.

The programme ended with a graduation ceremony for the participants, who were given certificates of participation.

The District Minister, Pastor Martin Berko Kesse, advised the trainees to value the opportunity given them to obtain new skills and put their learning into practice, working hard and preserving their bodies for Christ until they marry.

A competition was held between the PWDs, with the two top performers receiving GHC 1,000.00 each from the district, while the National Coordinator for Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPwDs), Pastor Alexander Nyame, promised to top it up with an additional GHC 1,000.00 each for the other three participants.

The event was graced by the National Coordinator for (MPwDs), Pastor Alex and Mrs Nyame, CEO for Networking Group for Societal Transformation, Elder Kumi Aboagye,  the MP for Asuogyaman Constituency, Honourable Ampem Darko, who supported the programme with an amount of GHC 2000.00, Nene Chawe, and Mrs. Esther Funny, the Headmistress of AIS Complex Basic School.

The initiative was commended by the community people and Nene Chawe, an Elder of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, for its inclusivity and aiming at solving societal issues.

The church was urged to continue its efforts for other churches to emulate it.

The Virtuous Ladies wing under the Women’s Ministry of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Obuasi, organised a six-day programme for young ladies, dubbed the “Daughters of Zion” (DOZ) Conference.

The programme, held from Tuesday, March 19 to 25, 2024, brought together ladies with a special interest in women’s affairs, including non-members, to equip them as agents of transformation in their spheres. The participants attended with official outfits, which was the dress code for the evening.

The event commenced with an intense worship and praise session, after which the Resident Minister, Pastor Samuel Addo Annor, spoke on the topic “Daughters of Zion, Unleashed to Transform their World, Famous, Yet Eager for Divine Wisdom.”

On the second day, members adorned outfits with flamboyant colours, which portrayed the colours of their temperaments. Mrs. Andria Blessed Annor spoke extensively on the topic “The Home as an Equipping Centre.”

Mrs. Keizia Agyare took her turn on the third day and enlightened participants on the topic “The Unleashed Woman and Her Finances.” The dress code for the event, which was mainly interactive, was smart casual wear.

The DOZ conference took a cultural turn on the fourth day, as participants attended the service robed in brightly coloured African prints, beaded bracelets, and necklaces. Deaconess Mrs. Regina Boamah spoke on the topic “The Lady, Her Lover, and Her Lord” during the service.

The ministry organised an outreach to the St Jude Hospital, Obuasi-Bedieso, where they evangelised to patients and staff and also donated some items, including bedsheets, disinfectants, bleach, toilet rolls, and others, to support the hospital.

The conference was climaxed on Sunday, March 24, 2024, as the Church received the visitation of the Area Head, Prophet David Kankam Beditor. He spoke on the topic “Unleashed Deborah to Transform Her World.”

Deaconess Philomina Mireku, the Women’s Ministry Director of The Church of Pentecost, made a significant visit to her hometown, Gomoa Dawurampong, in the Central Region during her two-day working trip to the Winneba Area.

At the Dawurampong Central Assembly auditorium, she met with the districts in the Dawurampong zone.

Delivering a message titled “The Unleashed Woman: Casting All Her Burdens Unto the Lord” (1 Pet 2:9-10; 5:7), she encouraged women to entrust all their burdens, including marital, health, and financial struggles, to the Lord.

After the service, Deaconess Philomina Mireku visited her maternal and paternal family members, offering support and encouragement.

She urged her family to maintain their faith and commitment to serving the Lord.

Pastor Richard Atobrah (Campus Minister, PENSA-UEW) prayed for the family, while Apostle Daniel Tackie (Area Head, Winneba) offered blessings.

Deaconess Philomina Mireku was accompanied by Apostle Daniel Tackie (Area Head, Winneba), Deaconess Vivian Amfo (Deputy Director), and Mrs. Comfort Quampah (an executive member).

The gathering also included a cross-section of ministers and Area Women Ministry leadership, highlighting the significance of the occasion in fostering spiritual connections within the community.

The Women’s Ministry of the New Aplaku District of The Church of Pentecost has launched an initiative titled “A Caring Heart,” which aligns with the ministry’s Biblical duty and focus.

Deaconess Esther Obeng Dapaah, working closely with the District Women’s Ministry, spearheaded this program, which is dedicated to supporting single mothers and widows in the church.

Deaconess Esther Obeng Dapaah, a former Member of Parliament for Abirem Constituency and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, is now the Nkosohene of Akyem Otumi in the Birem North District.

The occasion was graced by esteemed guests, including Apostle James Kwabena Asare, the Kasoa Area Head, Deaconess Philomena Mireku Quainoo, Women’s Director of The Church of Pentecost, Deaconess Dora Dapaah, Kasoa Area Women’s Leader, and Minister Ruth Adjei, who ministered to the gathering in songs.

In his welcoming address, Apostle James Kwabena Asare urged attendees to make a lasting impact within the house of God, ensuring a legacy for future generations. Honourable Deaconess Esther Obeng Dapaah, reflecting on her 45-year commitment to supporting widows and single mothers across various church communities, expressed fulfilment in serving others.

Deaconess Philomena Mireku, the Women’s Director of the Church of Pentecost, emphasized the importance of honouring and uplifting the elderly while encouraging mutual transformation and support within the congregation. She extended gratitude to the District Women’s Leadership and Honourable Deaconess Esther Obeng Dapaah for initiating and fully sponsoring the vision.

The event culminated in the distribution of hampers, each containing half a piece of cloth and 5 kilograms of rice, valued at GHC. 20,000. Additionally, Madam Leticia Nyameke Sam, a member of the Sampaman Local Assembly in the New Aplaku District, generously provided complimentary catering services for all attendees.

The recipients expressed profound gratitude to the Women’s Ministry for their generous and compassionate gesture, reflecting the true essence of “A Caring Heart” within the house of God.

The Tamale Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has offered support to the Tamale Teaching Hospital as part of the Easter festivities.

A church delegation led by Mrs. Agatha Tawiah, the wife of the Tamale Area Head and the Area Women’s Ministry Leader, and comprising Area Women’s Ministry Executive Committee Members, Ministers’ Wives, and District Women Ministry Leaders from the Tamale Metropolis, visited the facility on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

The team was received by the management of the hospital led by Mr. Saakaa Danladi, Head of Finance, in the company of other senior staff of the facility.

As part of the visit, the women donated some chairs to the hospital and also branded the Children’s ward with educational stickers.

Presenting the items, Mrs. Agatha Tawiah said that the Women’s Ministry has been making such presentations in many places as it aligns with the “Possessing the Nations” agenda, dubbed “Vision 2028,” which encourages members of the Church to provide social services to the community.

Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Mr. Danladi expressed gratitude to the church for the gesture, which he believed would bring smiles to the faces of the children and their mothers.

He stressed the need for more collaboration like this because the government cannot meet the infrastructural needs of the citizenry alone. Parents and children on admission were filled with joy that such a gesture had been extended to them.

Present at the brief presentation ceremony were Mr. Mohammed Bukari Suglo (representing the Head of the Department), Hajia Rahinatu Abdul-Salam (Administrator of Radiology and the Coordinator of the donation), Hajia Habiba Lawal (DDNS, Trauma Sub-BMC), and Amadu Rashida S. It was a great scene on Easter Monday, April 1, 2024, where women from the various assemblies in the Ekroful District in The Church of Pentecost faced off against each other in a memorable cooking competition to round up this year’s Easter Festivities.

The event, which was organized to promote local foods, saw the women prepare various indigenous foods and drinks such as Waakye with shito and chicken gravy, Fufu with “Ebunobuno” soup, Cocoyam with garden eggs stew, Fruit salad, Watermelon juice, Tuo Zaafi, and some local drinks.

In a brief remark, the Ekroful District Minister, Pastor Edward Asamoah Antwi, charged the congregation to cultivate the habit of preparing their own indigenous foods.

“If you want to have a healthy and prolonged life, aside from God helping us, we should advise ourselves to feed on what we grow in our farms. Because, going by that is not only healthy but also economized,” he added.

He also commended the District Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Mabel Otoo, and her team for the great work done in making the event a reality.

Mrs. Rita Asamoah Antwi, the wife of the District Minister, in turn, advised the youth to take an interest in preparing their own foods. She also encouraged them to endeavour to prepare their own nutritious dishes rather than relying on food vendors for “already-made” foods.

The event was climaxed with a Love Feast, where members and non-members of the church came together to enjoy some of the foods prepared by the contestants. At the end of the event, the women of the Ephrathah Assembly were adjudged winners of the competition.

The Tepa Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has held an annual thanksgiving service to thank, honour and appreciate God for His goodness and kindness throughout 2023.

The event was put together with the support of the Area Head, Apostle David Nii Addo-Pappoe, and wife, Mrs Faustina Addo-Pappoe, and the Area Women’s Leader, Mrs Lilly Amarnor and her team.

All the districts in the Area joined the service to show gratitude to the Almighty God for His power and divine protection within 2023. 

During the programme, there were many testimonies, thanksgiving and songs of praise. 

Delivering the sermon, Apostle David Nii Addo-Pappoe spoke on the theme, “Do Not Set Yourself As An Opposition To God” based on 1 Samuel 18 14 and 2 Chronicles 26:5. 

He admonished women not to be stumbling blocks to the progress of God and their success at large. To succeed, they must align themselves to God’s purpose and plan. 

He charged Christian women to allow God to take full control of their lives to attract His blessing.

After the message, Mrs Agnes Mensah led the congregation in prayer.

The service was attended by ministers and their wives in the Area.

Among them were Pastor Atta Agyapong (Area Secretary), Pastors Samuel Yankey, Samuel Amponsem, Isaiah Coker Yankson, Steven Larbi and Obeng Gyemfi.

Others were Overseers Akwesi Yawson, Daniel Frimpong and Emmanuel Owusu.

The Women’s Ministry of the Asante Mampong Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a feast for the inmates of Ejura Camp Prisons in the Ashanti Region in pursuit of the Church’s “Possessing the Nations” agenda and to fulfil the scriptural mandate of remembering those in prison.

The event, which took place on Sunday, December 17, 2023, also saw the ministry donate items worth GHS 18,000 to improve the living conditions of the inmates and create a sense of hope for them this yuletide. The items donated included bags of rice, gallons of oil, slippers, packs of toothpaste and brushes, washing powders, soaps, and many others.

With three District Leaders each from the 22 districts in the Area, the delegation led by the wife of the Area Head, Mrs Beatrice Asare, worshipped with the inmates on Sunday morning at the Prison Chapel.

Deaconess Ellen Sarfo, the Area Women’s Ministry Executive Member, exhorted the inmates on the need to keep their hopes alive in Christ Jesus, irrespective of their situation. She admonished them to abide in the word of God, highlighting the need to be obedient to their authorities until their time is due.

During the altar call, eight inmates surrendered their lives to Christ Jesus.

On her part, Mrs Beatrice Asare, commended the ministry leaders for the love demonstrated to the inmates this yuletide. With the overwhelming number of youth serving prison sentence at the Camp, Mrs Asare advised Ghanaian youth to be cautious of their lives to avoid being put into custody.

The Area Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Esther Osei Owusu, told PENTECOST NEWS that the gesture is part of the Women’s Ministry efforts to fulfil the Church’s Vision 2023 of “Possessing the Nations” as well as planting hope in the hearts of the forsaken that Jesus loves them.

Superintendent Takyi Agyei Kofi, the in-charge of Ejura Prisons, on behalf of the Director General and the Regional Prisons Command, thanked The Church of Pentecost, especially the Asante Mampong Area, for the kind gesture. He relayed some challenges facing the facility and called for aid from corporate bodies, other churches, and philanthropists.
