Guard Your Hearts Against Bitterness – Apostle Nyamekye Admonishes Christians

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has admonished Christians to guard their hearts against bitterness, which tends to destroy the human body.

According to Apostle Nyamekye, bitterness is a seed of resentment, displeasure at someone, dissatisfaction, and discontent at something considered unjust in the human heart.

He further explained that bitter people describe their feelings as righteous anger because they feel offended but do not want to retaliate.

Apostle Nyamekye made this admonition on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the climax of the ‘You Must Be Born Again’ Gospel Crusade, held at the multi-purpose auditorium of the University For Development Studies (UDS), Tamale Campus.

Ministering on “Bitterness: Seed of Resentment In the Heart,” the Chairman of the Church mentioned that the human being is a complex being with a spirit, soul and body.

Expanding on the nature of the human being, Apostle Nyamekye described the spirit and soul as components of the heart, the inner essence of a person.

He emphasised that the heart plays a significant role in shaping one’s character and actions.

“This inner man is the shaker and mover of the entire body, and the human mind can be very deceiving because it can stand aside few actions,” the Chairman said.

Apostle Nyamekye further stressed that Judas Iscariot kissed Jesus but had a different motive.

“You are a good person or a bad person depending on the state of the heart,” he stated.

Quoting Matthew 5:8, he said, “Seeing God depends on the purity of the heart and not some gymnastics one shows in church. It is not about what you do on the outside but what is done on the inside.”

He added: “Be careful not to have a sinful and unbelieving heart that will turn away from God.”

The President of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) emphasised that the sickness of the heart depicts bitterness as a viral disease that is acquired, destroys the carrier, defiles many, is infectious and tends to spread to others.

“Bitterness weakens your spiritual immune system, making you susceptible to other spiritual ailments,” he said, adding, “The health of your heart should be told from the onset because when people harbour bitterness, they think it’s a justifiable anger.”

Apostle Nyamekye urged Christians to prioritise the health of their hearts by guarding against bitterness.

To combat bitterness, he advised church members to refrain from nurturing it, emphasising the devastating consequences it brings.

“Bitterness not only harms the individual but also destroys relationships, marriages, organisations, churches, and even nations,” he stated.

Apostle Nyamekye highlighted common symptoms of bitterness as anger, hatred, an unforgiving spirit, dwelling on past wrongs, inflicting pain, and experiencing sleepless nights.

He ended his sermon by recommending four approaches to overcoming bitterness: expressing it, repressing it, subduing it and confessing it.

TARRY FOR THE SPIRIT web

Tarry For The Spirit; Speak In Tongues

It is Pentecost Week, and I hear the call:

Tarry for the Spirit

He shall come in showers

Energising wholly all your ransomed powers

Signs shall follow service in the Holy Ghost

Then the Church of Jesus prove a mighty host.

I hear the resounding response:

On, then, Church of Jesus

Claim your Pentecost

God shall now baptise thee in the Holy Ghost

The Pentecostal experience is infectious and efficacious. Wherever He went, the warmth of His presence, the awe of His being and the power of his performance cannot be denied or ignored. The Holy Spirit is active and alive. And all who seek Him, He comes in showers (Luke 11:13, Hebrews 2:4, Psalm 72:6, Hosea 6:3). Yea, God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 6:11), so come, He will. For us Pentecostals in Ghana, there should be no doubt of this. Apart from the records of Acts 2 and the history of Azusa Street, we have the Asamankese evidence where the Holy Spirit practically fell like on the Day of Pentecost as a huge tongue of fire.

Exactly one hundred years ago, on 20 May 1923, a yearning group of men and women had gathered in Asamankese with one primary passion: To experience the power and fruit of the Holy Spirit. And He came! The entire town saw the small temple in which these believers had gathered on fire. When they rushed there to aid in putting out the fire, they saw, to their amazement, men and women speaking in an unknown tongue and unharmed by the fire. This unique experience was to birth and mark the great Pentecostal revival in the land.

What Azusa Street, Asamankese and Acts 2 have in common is ‘tarrying for the Spirit’ (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4) by a host of yearning hearts (Acts 2:1–2). It takes tarrying (waiting) with holy yearning hearts to experience this great outburst of the Spirit showers. Let us be ready for it. We must cultivate that habit of waiting. In The Church of Pentecost, Friday morning prayers used to be called ‘Tarry’. It was time to cry out and wait for the fire to fall.

The zeal and the expectancy in the air must not die with Pentecost Week year by year. Let us sustain a ‘tarry’ in our local assemblies, be it at dawn, morning or evening prayer meetings. Even on a Sunday morning, let us be ready to receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We must not be shy to be a people intoxicated by the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). There is nothing shameful about being ‘obsessed’ with a desire to be filled by the Spirit. In fact, as Pentecostals and Christians, this must be our utmost desire. Jesus said it was for our (Christians) good that His physical being left this earth for one reason: The coming of the Holy Spirit (John 16:7). If the Saviour and Master says something is for our good, should that not be what we seek daily?

On the eve of the settling of the dust of the historical turmoil The Church of Pentecost endured, Rev. James McKeown had written as a father to the church these words: ‘Now if you have Jesus, if you have the Holy Spirit, then you have a fire in you; that is the language of the Bible, He shall baptise you with the Holy Ghost and fire. Let us take it like this, fill the kettle with water, and set it on fire; when it begins to boil, if it is a whistling kettle, then it begins to whistle; If it is just an ordinary kettle, then the lid begins to dance and sing’.

Our founder was pointing us to what matters most. The Baptiser (Jesus) and the baptism (the Holy Spirit). He was also pointing us to the evidence of the baptism (the tongues) – the whistling of the kettle.

It is important to stress that as classical Pentecostals, The Church of Pentecost believes in speaking in tongues as an initial sign of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This we must not compromise in the face of divergent views. It is evident in scripture that speaking in tongues (the whistling of the kettle) always accompanied the baptism (Acts 2:4; 19:6; 10:44–46). It was convincing evidence for Peter, and he reiterated same before the apostles (Acts 10:46–47, 11:17). Paul thanked God that he was an ardent speak of tongues (1 Corinthians 14:18). There is no downplaying speaking in tongues. Let our hearts be stirred; may our minds not be deceived by any.

The baptism happens once, but the infillings are many (Acts 2:4; 4:31; Eph. 5:18). It is a command, not a suggestion, for us to receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4, 5; Luke 24:49, Acts 2:38, 39; 8:14–20; 9:17). Our Pentecostal doctrines and roots are intricately tied to this belief without which there is no basis for our claim of Pentecostalism. When He comes, bearing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23) becomes easier, and we are equipped for ministry (1 Corinthians 12:8–11) in an extraordinary way.

It is easy for us to be swayed by past events, but Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, says there is no need to keep dwelling on Azusa Street revival. That was over 500 years ago. May I reiterate his rhetorical question, ‘Is that all God can do?’ Certainly not! However, if you think the glorious days of the Church are behind you, then you will not be expectant of anything extraordinary in your time, but if you believe the glorious days of the Church are here, then your heart will be stirred for deposits. Indeed, we need ‘fresh anointing and fresh revival’.

Another experience of the manifestation of Pentecost today is possible. God has promised to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh in the last days (Joel 2:28–29). Peter speaking on the Day of Pentecost, did not hesitate to claim this promise, calling their era the last days (Acts 2:16–18). If Peter calls their time the last days, then we are in the amber of the last days, the very last day of the last days. May there be a greater outpouring now for all who yearn and tarry (1 Corinthians 14:1).

The God who, in time past, wrought miracles and built His Church through the power of the Pentecost (Holy Spirit) is the same in our day. May He do with us as He did with our forebears. Let us be firm as they stood. Let the fire of Pentecost burn in us. Come into the chariot of fire, the time is now.

Christian Men Urged To Go The Extra Mile In Service

The 5th Bezalel Conference organised by Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, came to a close today with a clarion call on all participants to be diligent in service and to go the extra mile.

Addressing the enthusiastic gathering of over 2000 Christian men at the event, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Nyamekye, in his sermon titled: “The Making of Fathers – Living for Others, ” emphasised that those who leave an indelible mark on future generations are those selflessly dedicate themselves to the well-being of others.

Quoting Matthew 5:29, Apostle Nyamekye urged the participants to be willing to make great sacrifices by going the extra mile for the sake of others.

The Chairman, citing influential historical figures like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mother Teresa, underscored the power of living for others.

According to him, despite facing adversities and sacrificing their lives to serve others, these individuals became timeless heroes, inspiring people across generations.

Apostle Nyamekye challenged the participants to examine their lives and consider how they would like to be fondly remembered and celebrated as fathers, husbands, pastors, teachers, and leaders even after they are no more.

He also encouraged them to be channels (vessels) through which God’s grace would flow and bring positive change to their communities.

The Chairman shared stories of three exemplary individuals who epitomised selfless service: Mordecai, who worked tirelessly for the welfare of his people; Nehemiah, who declined personal privileges to avoid burdening others; and Job, known for his support of the poor, fatherless, and destitute., to buttress his assertion.

These men, he further noted, were characterised by their humility, God-fearing nature, compassion for the vulnerable, encouragement, pursuit of peace, diligence, nobility, and influence within their communities.

He, therefore, urged Christian men to emulate their exemplary traits so as to leave behind a godly and positive legacy for future generations.

The Bezalel Conference is a bi-annual event of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry aimed at empowering Christian men for maximum impact in society.

This year’s event, which coincided with the 25th anniversary of the ministry, took place from May 24 to 26, 2023 and was under the theme: “Repositioning Men for Maximum Impact: Building upon the Legacy of the Fathers.

To the glory of God, the 2023 Bezalel Conference concluded on a high note, leaving attendees inspired and equipped to embrace the call for selfless service and make a meaningful impact in their spheres of influence.

Rise Above Mediocrity – Apostle Nyamekye Tells Christian Men

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, challenged Christian men to rise above mediocrity and strive to leave a lasting impact on their generation.

The Chairman issued this clarion call when he delivered a powerful sermon at the closing session of the 5th Bezalel Conference of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) held at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC).

Speaking on the topic: “The Making of Fathers – Living for Others,” while referring to a quote from Pastor Sunday Adelaja, Apostle Nyamekye stressed that: “A person is remembered for the number of lives he had touched or his contributions to the world that he lived in, not what he made in life.”

He urged Christians, particularly Christian men, to consider how they wanted to be remembered after this generation passed and emphasised the significance of going the extra mile and living for others.

Apostle Nyamekye further noted that individuals who go above and beyond are the ones who leave a lasting legacy and are forever remembered by future generations.

The Chairman referenced historical figures who had selflessly impacted the world to exemplify the power of living for others. One notable example he mentioned was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a Baptist preacher and civil rights advocate who sacrificed his life to pursue racial justice.

According to him, despite his tragic assassination, Dr King’s heroism continues to inspire people around the globe.

Apostle Nyamekye further noted that true living is living for others, as demonstrated by Mother Teresa’s work among the destitute.

“Mother Theresa said that: At the end of life, they would not be judged by their diplomas, wealth, or personal achievements but by the number of lives they touched,” he said.

Apostle Nyamekye, therefore, challenged Christian men to live in such a way that others would be blessed in their name, akin to the blessings associated with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The Chairman also urged them to strive for nobility so that future generations would call them noble and mourn their departure, just as the community mourned the loss of Moses.

Quoting Hebrews 11:23-26, Apostle Nyamekye highlighted Moses’ sacrifices for the liberation of the Israelites, underscoring the significance of rising to authority or promising to build up others rather than seek self-aggrandisement.

He said that to be remembered as noble fathers, husbands, pastors, teachers, chiefs, leaders, and more, they need to critically examine the causes they live for, whether they are self-centred or geared towards benefiting others.

Apostle Nyamekye stressed the importance of being channels through whom God’s grace flows, making sacrifices, and going the extra mile for others.

He drew examples from the lives of Mordecai, Nehemiah, and Job, who loved others, demonstrated humility, cared for the vulnerable, and were influencers in their communities.

Referencing Daniel 5:11ff, the Chairman encouraged attendees to move away from mediocrity and strive for spiritual and intellectual excellence.

He urged them to be men and women of intellectual power, capable of solving difficult (complex) problems.

“To possess the nations, we need men and women who are strong in spirit and are great influencers in society,” he said.

The sermon concluded with a reminder that Christian men should store treasures in heaven, live to serve others and always strive to improve what is entrusted to them.

The Holy Spirit Empowers Believers To Defend The Christian Faith – Apostle Dr Dieudonne Nuekpe Asserts

The La Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, has emphasised the importance of igniting the fire of Pentecost to create a significant impact, as the Holy Spirit empowers Christians to defend the gospel and the Christian faith.

Apostle Dr Dieudonne Nuekpe, an Executive Council Member-Elect of the Church, said this during a joint service with the youth in La Area, which took place at the Dr Thomas Wyatt Memorial Temple on Monday, May 22, 2023.

In his sermon titled, “Stoking the Fire of Pentecost in the Youth for Maximum Impact,” Apostle Dr Nuekpe recounted the historical background that led to the outpouring of the promised Holy Spirit, as described in Joel 2:28-29 and reiterated by Jesus before his ascension in Acts 1:8.

Pentecost, originally a Jewish festival, also known as the Feast of Joy, Weeks, Harvest, or First Fruits, is celebrated seven weeks after Passover or Easter. It commemorates God’s blessings by granting bountiful harvests to the Israelites and restoring the land and vegetation, as mentioned in Isaiah 44:3.

He disclosed that the outpouring of the promised Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost symbolically led to the harvest of souls, numbering about three thousand, as recorded in Acts 2:41.

Apostle Dr Nuekpe further highlighted that before the outpouring of the promised Holy Spirit, the Spirit came upon a select few individuals, endowing them with unique skills and talents for specific assignments and tasks, such as Bezalel and Oholiab in Exodus 35:30-35.

He reiterated that the Holy Spirit empowers believers with unique abilities, akin to Bezalel’s, to make significant contributions to the Kingdom business.

According to him, Peter, who had previously gone into hiding following the events leading to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, was empowered, along with John, to stand before the Sanhedrin and defend the Christian faith.

The La Area Head urged young persons to step out of their comfort zones and actively defend the Christian faith wherever they may find themselves, to bring many to Christ.

He emphasised that the Holy Spirit transcends cultural boundaries, uniting Christians and enabling them to assist one another.

Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe ended his message by stressing that those seeking the baptism and empowerment of the Holy Spirit must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, repent, seek the Lord, present themselves as a living sacrifice on the altar, allow the Holy Spirit to purify them, and live a holy life, as the Holy Spirit dwells in vessels dedicated to holiness.

The service was attended by Apostle Dr Edward Arko Koranteng (Medical Director of Pentecost Hospital, Madina) and Apostle Kingsley Addai (La Area Evangelism Leader), along with several pastors and their wives from La Area.

Also in attendance were executives from the La Area Youth Ministry, led by Pastor Emmanuel Opoku Mensah (the Area Youth Pastor), and Elder Dr Samuel Nana Amoh Tobbin (Executive Chairman of Tobinco Group of Companies).

Return To Biblical Foundations To Build Stronger Churches – Apostle Nyamekye To Church Leaders

The President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has called on church leaders to deliberately return to the biblical foundation Christ laid to build his church.

Speaking at the Supernatural Empowerment Summit (SES) hosted by Archbishop Charles Agyin Asare, the General Overseer of Perez Chapel, on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Perez Dome at Dzorwulu in Accra, on the topic: “What Must We Do To Do The Works God Requires” (John 6:27), Apostle Nyamekye explained that the profound gift Jesus bestowed upon his followers was not the physical bread but rather the promise of eternal life that God offered.

He highlighted the contrast between the Jews, who lacked the patience to believe and seek revelational knowledge from God, and the Apostles, who embraced the teachings of Christ.

According to Apostle Nyamekye, who doubles as the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, the crucial mission of the Great Commission is to make disciples, proclaim the Word of God, convert souls, baptise them, and instruct them to spread the gospel to others.

“Unfortunately, many people today are drawn to Jesus solely for worldly benefits such as marriages, wealth, and material provisions, disregarding the significance of eternal life,”

Apostle Nyamekye stated, emphasising the need to shift focus from temporary benefits to the ultimate reward of eternal life that Jesus offers.

Citing Ephesians 4:17-21, he noted that the world has become desensitised to spirituality, indulging in impurity and greed. He underscored that believers in Jesus Christ are called to perform good works and works of God, while the work assigned to unbelievers is to believe in Jesus and experience his power for salvation.

He admonished against prioritising the benefits of the gospel over the essence of the gospel itself, urging church leaders to build strong churches rooted in faith rather than fear.

He reemphasised that the greatest manifestation of God’s work in believers is transforming individuals into saints, freed from the bondage of unrighteousness.

Apostle Nyamekye reminded church leaders of their responsibility to be witnesses of Jesus, defending his name as the Saviour of the world.

He encouraged the church to demonstrate through transformed lives that Jesus is indeed the Lord and Saviour, as it aligns with God’s eternal purpose for the church.

The President of GPCC urged church leaders and believers to consciously realign themselves with the biblical principles laid by Christ in order to build strong churches that truly reflect his teachings.

Elder Aklassou & Family Construct Ultra-Modern Church Edifice For Nolopi Assembly

Elder Fred Yao Aklassou of the Texas branch of The Church of Pentecost in the United States of America (USA), together with his family, has constructed a magnificent church building for the Nolopi Assembly in the Afife District of the Church.

The Church building, which cost a total of GH¢570,021.60, is furnished with sets of conference chairs, musical instruments, and executive chairs.

The edifice was dedicated by Apostle Moses K. Ahiakor, the Hohoe Area Head, during a special ceremony held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, in Nolopi, Volta Region.

Speaking at the event on the topic “God Never Forgets” with scripture references from 1 Samuel 16:11-13 and Hebrews 11:6, Pastor Godwin Adzahlie, the Sogakope Area Head, stated that God honours the services of His servants.

“While parents may forget their children, God never forgets those who diligently serve Him. He rewards those who sacrifice for Him and will remember us when we reach heaven,” he stated.

Drawing from 1 Samuel 16, Pastor Adzahlie explained that King David sacrificed his time, talent, ability, comfort, and life to serve his nation, Israel. Hence, in order to make a significant impact in this generation, Christians must be willing to “lose something to be remembered.”

Explaining his motive for constructing the edifice, Elder Fred Aklassou stated that Mr. Emmanuel Binah, a native of Nolopi, shared the struggles the local assembly was facing in putting up a permanent church building during his visit to the local assembly on June 13, 2021.

Despite having purchased some building materials, the project had stalled due to a lack of funds. Mr. Binah shared his burden with Elder Aklassou, who accepted the challenge to construct the building for the local assembly.

According to him, his motivation was to demonstrate uncommon love for the members of the assembly and to serve God for what the Lord has done for him.

After consulting with Pastor Seth Kofi Danah, the Afife District Minister, in August 2021, the project commenced. By the grace of God, Elder Aklassou fulfilled his promises and worked diligently to complete the edifice.

The dedication ceremony was attended by the chiefs, community leaders of Nolopi and its environs, church members, and community residents.

Apostle Michael Agyen Brefo, (Aflao Area Head), Apostle Daniel Noble Atsu (Rtd.), and the Aflao Area pastorate were also present at the event.

The Church Of Pentecost Donates Wheelchairs To Members With Disabilities

The Aflao Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated five wheelchairs, amounting to GH¢7,500.00, to persons living with disabilities.

In a colourful ceremony held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the PIWC/French Auditorium, the Aflao Area Head, Apostle Michael Agyen Brefo, stated that this gesture is part of the Church’s plan to bring smiles to the faces of numerous members who are living with disabilities.

Sharing a brief exhortation based on Ephesians 3:7-10, Apostle Agyen Brefo stated, “The purpose of the Great Commission is to disciple all nations. This includes persons living with disabilities.”

He stressed that persons with disabilities (PWDs) are created by God for good works and have roles to play in the Great Commission.

He encouraged PWDs not to let their conditions hinder them from spreading the fragrance of the gospel..

“Sometimes, some persons living with disabilities feel that they are not gifted enough to preach the word. Others also think that they are laypersons, incapable of spreading the love of Christ to the lost. But they have forgotten that God, through his Holy Spirit, has gifted every person, including persons living with disabilities. The Holy Spirit is God’s enabling power that can equip all kinds of Christians for good works,” he stated.

The Church’s National Coordinator for the MPWDs, Pastor Alexander Nyame, who was the guest speaker at the event, exhorted participants to offer a safe support system to these vulnerable groups within the church.

Speaking on the topic “Understanding Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs),” Pastor Nyame stressed that disability is not inability. Although persons living with disabilities are the largest minority group, they are all part of God’s perfect plan. “God created every human being with good intentions in mind. This good intention is not only for those who can talk, hear, or see. God foreknew us ahead of time for His own good purpose in Christ Jesus,” he emphasised. “These good purposes,” he explained, “are the good works that God expects every Christian, including persons living with disabilities, to walk in according to Ephesians 2:10.” He, therefore, encouraged the Church to provide skills training for interested persons with disabilities, as well as assistive devices to aid in their daily lives. He commended the Aflao Area for this great gesture in supporting persons living with disabilities. Present at the ceremony were Pastor Elias Atsu Kumashie (Aflao Area MPWDs Coordinator), Area and District MPWD Coordinators, church members, and the Aflao Area pastorate. 200 People Saved From Near-Fatal Accident

The Kofiase District in the Mampong Area of The Church of Pentecost, together with the entire Kofiase Community, is profoundly grateful to God for saving the lives of about 200 people from a near-fatal accident.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the premises of the Kofiase Central Assembly Church building.

On that eventful day, a meeting was underway at the Central Assembly auditorium, attended by around 200 caregivers of beneficiaries from the Kofiase Pentecost Child and Youth Development Center.

This non-governmental organization caters to the welfare of approximately 270 children from Kofiase and its surroundings.

In the course of the meeting, an unidentified articulated truck with registration number AS 988-13, without a driver on board, suddenly took off.

The truck bypassed a police station and a tailoring shop, eventually finding its way to the church premises where the meeting was being held. Miraculously, the truck came to a halt on its own, right in front of the Central Assembly church building.

Eyewitnesses present at the scene testified that had it not been for God’s intervention, the situation would have been catastrophic.

The Almighty God deserves to be praised for sparing the lives of these parents and staff members of the Centre.

A Godly Caution To Married Menweb

A Godly Caution To Married Men

“It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” –  Genesis 2:18

The above scripture reveals the origin of marriage and God’s original intention for the man He created. It also highlights the man’s inadequacies and the need to fill that void. In my view, the term “helper” here does not imply that the woman is inferior to the man but that he functions better with her inclusion.

In Genesis 2:23, the man exclaimed, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh,” signifying that despite having all his bones, he recognises the missing bone in the woman, which completes him and makes him feel like a real man. Without a doubt, we can say that men are incomplete without women.

The word “suitable” is defined as something right or appropriate for a particular person, purpose, or situation. In Adam’s case, the New Living Translation in Genesis 2:23 captures the excitement and delight Adam expressed when he saw Eve for the first time. The Bible says this: “At last!” the man exclaimed. This excitement, combined with the surprise he encountered, serves as clear evidence that the woman was right, appropriate, and a perfect match for him. God fulfilled his desire for an ideal mate by creating women of different kinds and features that easily attract men, allowing every man to have his wife by choice. The physical appearance of women is thoughtfully designed to bring psychological and emotional stability to men for better functionality.

In Psalm 139:14, the Bible declares, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” This scripture explains how the human body is intricately woven and marvellously put together, embodying complete uniqueness. The human is both physical and spiritual. Physically, he operates through biological systems and mechanisms that set him apart from other animals, although sharing similarities with rats, as science suggests. Spiritually, he can be instructed, guided, and responsive to higher beings unseen by the human eye and to the Spirit of the Creator for restoration and guidance. Consider how wounds heal overnight and weakness is restored after a good rest. Indeed, the human body is awe-inspiring and marvellous.

There is an indescribable aspect of women that can only be felt intensely by men, wrapped in love. Men are methodical lovers, considering various factors such as beauty, taste or class, industriousness, and submissiveness when assessing a woman’s suitability in many ways, including her appearance. They also have expectations for the woman in their life and family. These considerations are meticulously pondered before a man expresses love toward a woman, although he may have made up his mind in the early stages of their relationship. Men often invest ample time studying and inquiring about the woman they intend to have a relationship with, all behind the scenes. Furthermore, men reserve the right to fully reveal their intentions to the woman at the appropriate time, which protects them from deep hurt when things don’t go as planned.

Contrary to men, women are not created to exhibit the same traits. They are wonderfully designed to receive something small and produce something more significant. They receive words of love and produce works of love; they receive money and produce food; they receive watery substances and make babies; they receive one man and have a family and a nation. Basically, women go straight into production without delay whenever they receive anything from a man, even if they are unwilling. This is how they were made. To them, receiving something from their husband is like receiving something from their Lord, which needs urgent attention.

However, because sometimes a woman’s unwillingness cannot wait for God’s design, she carries deep emotions, making her vulnerable to cracks when hurt. On the other hand, when men manage the feelings they receive from women through a respectful relationship, it softens their hearts and points them to love. It also arouses their ego and gives them the inner strength to be more protective as the head of the family, making them feel like real men. In return, men replicate these feelings towards their wives, enabling them to see their outward and inner beauty. This beauty drives them into ecstasy, causing them to act and behave in specific ways. Some may say that men are blinded by love or acting foolishly. Some men cannot contain this deep feeling and exclaim, like Adam, “At last, this is bone of my bones.”

In the scripture, man did not ask for a woman. He said to God, “the woman you gave me.” He could not have designed her if asked to do it himself. Instead, God carefully fashioned woman to complement what man lacked in his body, making him complete and allowing him to begin his kind in his own image. From how women handle things, their patience, attention to detail, and organisational skills, it is evident how wonderful they are. They always strive to get things right the first time and minimise waste. They are the soft and smooth spots in men. Science teaches us that the pelvic bone structure, the building block of a woman’s lower part, differs from that of a man due to childbirth. While men may appear rigid and strong, women are more flexible in their bodies, making them physically weaker.

Although women are stronger in certain aspects than men, men are generally considered more physically robust. Just like a well-polished surface is prone to dent and destruction, women are more susceptible to emotional distress than men. This is why both men and women are stronger together and weaker apart. It is not out of place to say that a man is only complete in the presence of a woman. The man cannot own the woman who complements him but must realise that his existence is in her. The owner of both of them is the Creator Himself.

Therefore, I assert that the divine mandate on marriage between a man and a woman from the start couldn’t have been possible without them being made male and female. Both males and females are called humankind, a kind of God’s creation with exceptional qualities, conscience, and reasoning above all other things created by God.

In the same scripture, from Genesis 2:24, God joins the man and woman together as husband and wife, enrolling them in a marriage institution without any foreknowledge. In Chapter 3, when they disobeyed God, the Lord’s covering over them was taken away, exposing them to the reality of their world. They became strangers in their own world, which they had lived in for some time. However, the merciful Lord gave them clues on living with the adversary who caused their downfall and still being happy. He defined their roles and revealed their identities for the first time, explaining why they were created with different features and reproductive organs. After this event, the woes of humanity began and continue until now.

Offering Unhindered Prayers

According to 1 Peter 3:7, married men are to live considerably with their wives, with an intelligent recognition of the marriage, honouring their wives as physically weaker but realising that they are joint heirs of God’s unmerited favour. These four causes are crucial for married men to note and work on if they want God to hear their prayers swiftly. It is important to emphasise that married women are NOT the cause of their husbands’ prayers being hindered, but rather the way married men treat their wives.

  1. Live Considerably with Your Wife:

Married men are urged to study their wives, know them well, and understand them before making decisions that may negatively impact them. Each woman is unique, and her needs should be carefully considered. In living with a wife, it is important to understand that she is the weaker one, and it is the husband’s responsibility to either help her rise to his level or lower his standards to her level. Women always expect the best from their husbands, even if it means sharing limited resources.

  • Intelligent Recognition of the Marriage:

Marriage is an institution where a certificate is acquired before lessons are taught. While the topics may be the same, each marriage’s course contents differ. Intelligence in a marriage requires seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit, who can reveal problems and provide solutions. An intelligent way to live with one’s wife is to adapt and learn new things, think about pleasant surprises, forgive quickly, and avoid bringing up past issues in current arguments. Above all, married men must view marriage as God does, with all players being equal shareholders. The Bible is the greatest tool for an intelligent recognition of marriage.

  • Honouring Your Wife is a Continues Process:

To women, honouring means respecting, appreciating, praising, and caring for them, and this should be an ongoing practice. Treating a woman with dignity and respect, especially in the presence of others, is something she will appreciate for a long time. Honouring one’s wife should be holistic, both publicly and privately. Married men are encouraged to treat their wives honourably as they would treat the Lord.

  • Couples Are Joint Heirs of God’s Unmerited Favor:

In Hebrews 2:11-12, it is mentioned that both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. Marriage is seen by God as a practice of His kingdom and is accompanied by favour from the Lord. However, both partners’ weaknesses can destroy the marriage. Thus, it is essential for married men, as the heads of their families, to preserve this unmerited favour so that their prayers may be effective. When married men lift their hands in prayer, they should do so with their wives included. A failing marriage may not produce the sweet aroma of prayers God answers.

CONCLUSION:

Married men must live considerably with their wives, have an intelligent recognition of their marriage, honour their wives continuously, and understand that they are joint heirs of God’s unmerited favour. These principles are essential for maintaining a strong spiritual connection and ensuring their prayers are not hindered. It is not the wife who is the cause of God not answering or cutting off the husband’s prayers; instead, how the husband treats his wife has an impact. Marriage is a sacred institution that requires both partners’ love, respect, and understanding to thrive.
