Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship Leadership Calls On PEMEM Director

A team from the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI), Ghana, led by Enimil Ashon, National Director of Public Affairs, has paid a courtesy call on the Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh.

The purpose of the visit was to engage with and inform the church about the National Christian Men’s Week Celebration scheduled to be held in November this year.

Welcoming the delegation, Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh lauded the FGBMFI for its immense commitment and contributions towards mobilizing men for the church.

“It is not easy to organise men. However, the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship have consistently organised men to make impact in the society,” Apostle Anane Denteh said.

He disclosed that the four-year strategic vision of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry focuses on “Sharpening Men to Possess the Nations” (Proverbs 17:27), urging all men to sharpen each other to build purposeful men in the church.

Apostle Anane Denteh further urged them to consider investing in Ministry to Men. This, he noted, would help safeguard the society from bad influence, since men are leading most institutions in the country.

“Invest and resource them with the kingdom principles for a formidable future,” he stated, adding, “We should be intentional and conscious of creating Men’s Ministry in our churches.”

On the National Christian Men’s Week celebration, the PEMEM Director encouraged the fellowship to inculcate programmes that resonate with the spirits of the men in the various churches and admonished that they should be activity-driven to win the interests of men towards the ministry.

The Head of Department for Church Relations of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship, Kumi Appiah, mentioned that as part of preparations for the celebrations, the leadership would be organising seminars, prayer meetings and evangelism to commemorate the week.

“We are expecting about 300 to 400 people from various churches to participate in the celebrations,” he explained.

Speaking to PENTECOST NEWS, Enimil Ashon said that men are considered to be comfortable without any support from people. He, however, noted that men need to be taken care of to take care of the home, saying, “A home without a man is often not complete because children go astray.”

Present were Jones Opare Badu (immediate past Chairman of Association of Methodist Men, Ghana), Elder Samuel Danso Agyarkwah (PIWC Atomic Men’s Ministry, COP), Kwasi Bonsu Asante (Programs Coordinator, Anglican Diocese), Deacon Samuel Tettey (National Baptist Men’s Coordinator), Elder Kaakyire Kwaku Asante (Pentecost Men’s Ministry, COP), and Edmond Ametofe (Church Relations, Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship).

Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International(FGBMFI) is the world’s largest Christian business men’s organisation, networking thousands of members in more than 85 nations through over 7,000 local chapters.

Ministries Staff Sharpen Skills

Workers of the five mainstream ministries of The Church of Pentecost have attended a day’s workshop meant to build their capacities to enhance their performance.

The event, which took place at the Headquarters of the church in Accra on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, was attended by accounts staff, drivers assigned to the ministries, executive assistants to the directors, domestic staff, and security staff.

Among the speakers were the Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh; the Director of Women’s Ministry, Mrs Philomina Mireku; the Director of the Evangelism Ministry, Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin, and the Human Resource Manager, Elder Samuel Addo Mantey.

In a keynote address, the General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, commended the directors of the five ministries for putting together the workshop which, he said, was a follow-up to the Management seminar held a few weeks ago.

According to the General Secretary, management realised that the staff of the organisation play a key role in the success of the church. Therefore, there was a need to build their capacities to effectively perform.

Reading from Colossians 3:23-25, Apostle Kumi-Larbi urged the staff to develop a positive mindset about their work. This, he said, will help them to work with passion to attract the blessings of God and the rewards on earth.

In a presentation on “Self-Development in the Workplace Towards Professionalism” with Job 8:7, 2 Timothy 2:15 as his anchor text, Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh stressed the need for the workers to build their capacities, be abreast with the current trends in their areas of work, develop themselves professionally to produce results.

According to him, when workers pursue professional excellence, they will solve problems that erupt in their offices, come out with innovations, and by so doing improve the system as they play a lead role in the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda of the church.

He indicated that self-development opens opportunities for one to the job market or job security, brings workers to the limelight, and gives them recognition, while professionalism opens new opportunities to workers, creates fulfillment and satisfaction, makes them diligent and efficient and increases their capacity, among other benefits.

The Women’s Director, Mrs Philomina Mireku, speaking on the topic: “Discipline as a Mark of a Christian Worker” based on Hebrews 12:1-11, Proverbs 3:11, noted that working in a Christian environment calls for high discipline.

Touching on things that can help them stay focused and disciplined in their duties, Mrs Mireku asked the staff to clearly define their goals, be committed to their jobs, set boundaries and take care of themselves, avoid things that can lead them into temptation, and live by deadlines, among others.

According to her, a disciplined workforce yields better results, enhances the image of the organisation and also brings personal rewards to individuals.

Missions Exist Everywhere In Contemporary Times – Apostle Anane Denteh Observes

The Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, has asserted that the scope of contemporary missions now covers the ‘six continents’ of the world, not on a particular destination as was in the past.

“The Mission to Six Continents concept was developed by the Commission on World Mission and Evangelism (CWME) under the auspices of the World Christian Council (WCC) conference held in Mexico City in 1963,” the PEMEM Director stated.

The PEMEM Director made this assertion on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, during a presentation at the Orientation for Missionaries at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh, near Kasoa.

Apostle Anane Denteh, who doubles as an Executive Council Member of the church, spoke on the topic, “Contemporary Issues In Missions.”

Quoting from Matthew 24:14, Apostle Anane Denteh said that the gospel of the kingdom of God is supposed to be proclaimed throughout the whole world, as a testimony to the nations.

“All those who matter in the kingdom are missionaries of Christ,” he said.

He explained that a missionary practitioner refers to all people involved in the activities of mission work. These, he noted, include the mission agencies, missionaries, donors, among others.

“Taking time to study the contemporary issues in mission is a critical exercise that every mission practitioner should take very seriously,” he stressed.

Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, who is also the Chieftaincy Ministry National Co-ordinator of The Church of Pentecost, further stated that there are six basic qualities of a good practitioner of missions. He stated that a good missionary should be a student of the Bible, a student of mission, a pastor or a teacher in the mission field, a Holy Spirit-filled or matured person, an epitome of sacrifice, and a missiological researcher.

“As a student of missions, research is needed into the culture and traditions of the people,” he mentioned, adding, “In missions, every missionary is a messenger, and the people must accept the messenger to accept his message.”

He, however, pointed out that the mission field is filled with several challenges, notably among them are religious fanaticism leading to persecutions and terrorism; ungodly ideologies, worldviews, and national policies; nationalism, xenophobia, ethnocentrism, and racism, among others.

He also charged the clergy to indulge in digital evangelism, where technology is implored in the proclamation of the gospel of Christ.

Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh cautioned that while planting ethnolinguistic churches is a good missional strategy, care must be taken to manage those churches very well so that they would not turn into ethnocentric pressure groups in the church.

He further charged missionaries to allow the Holy Spirit to empower them, saying, “A mission practitioner may have the strategy or approach on the field but the one above all is the miracle of the Holy Spirit.”

The Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) of the Agormanya Area of The Church of Pentecost has held a Road Safety Campaign at the Kpong Lorry Station in the Eastern Region as part of the activities marking the 2022 PEMEM week-long celebration.

Speaking at the event, the Agormanya Area PEMEM Leader, Pastor Joseph Kwadwo Tawiah, stated: “As citizens whatever we do in our lives must be done to the glory of God. Hence, the road safety campaign is an activity to glorify God.”

Reading 1 Corinthians 10:31, Pastor Tawiah iterated that drivers and riders are key persons when considering road safety issues, hence the need to engage and educate all road users to be disciplined and safety conscious.

Pastor Tawiah advised drivers to always put on their seat belts whilst driving.

The Chairman of the Kpong Branch of Co-operative Drivers Union, Mr. Paul Kantey, commended The Church of Pentecost for organising the timely campaign. He entreated other churches to emulate the example.

Christians Urged To Seek Divine Knowledge

Mrs. Gladys Nana Yaa Animah Oduro, wife of the Yennyawoso District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has advised Christians to commit themselves to divine knowledge acquisition to sail through in their quest to take territories for Christ.

She explained that knowledge is power and that whoever is destitute of it falls prey to the deceit of the devil and eventually perishes.

She said this in a sermon titled: “Equipping Men to Possess the Nations” on Sunday, June 19, 2022, when she fellowshipped with the members of Grace Assembly to cap off the week-long national celebration of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM).

Taking her main scriptures from 1 Corinthians 4:20 and Ephesians 6:10-17, Mrs. Oduro mentioned that the church is an equipping centre where Christians are girded up for every task assigned to them.

According to her, whoever goes to church and avails themselves to the teachings of God, becomes fit in all spheres of life because they are exposed to holistic teachings.

Mrs. Oduro, whose message touched on all aspects of human’s life, further noted that possessing the nations agenda of the Church can only be realised with power, but not just a mere talk. The power, on the other hand, she said, is found in the word of God. She, thus, charged Christians to be filled with the word and the knowledge of God in these evil times where everything points to the fact that the second coming of Christ is imminent, saying, “The devil fears those who have the word of God within them.”

She added that those with an in-depth knowledge of God and His words stay put at the Lord’s feet, no matter the circumstances and diligently apply themselves to the word for breakthrough.

She also expressed the need for Christians to maintain good health by adopting good eating habit and exercising regularly.

Reading from Genesis 18:19 and Malachi 2:15, Mrs. Gladys Nana Yaa Animah Oduro urged parents to make a determined effort to train their children in the way of the Lord. She cautioned that failure to do so will deprive them of God’s blessings.

She blamed streetism and waywardness of many children on lack of good parental care and broken homes and strongly advised married couples against divorce, saying, “It is easier to build a strong Christian home than to repair a broken home.”

God Needs Awakened Men To Possess The Nations – PEMEM Director

The Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, has said that the “possessing the nations” agenda depends on the commitment and dedication of men, who are fully awakened and well-focused on the Great Commission.

Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh made this assertion on Thursday, June 16, 2022, when he gave a presentation on the topic, “When Men Went To Sleep” Matthew 13:24-30 at the Aflao Area PEMEM joint service at the Shekinah Temple, Aflao.

In his exposition, Apostle Anane Denteh noted that the progress of every nation, family and church hinges on the alertness of men and their commitment to duty.

“Men who sleep on duty cannot achieve any good thing in the society. Therefore, if we want to equip men to possess the nations, then they must first be awakened,” he said.

He further noted that anyone asleep cannot respond to a call to duty and could not be counted upon to accomplish a task.

“To be given a task and be able to accomplish, it a person must be awakened from his sleep to be sent,” he added.

“If a home can be a successful place with great progress, the men in the house must be awakened. Likewise, if the church is to make progress in the Kingdom business, then men in the church must be awakened. A married man who is awakened can discern his child’s future and give them the best education so that when the child becomes successful in future, they could take care of him,” he said.

Expounding Matthew 13:24-30, Apostle Anane Denteh explained that the enemy is only able to cause harm when people go to sleep.

He, therefore, cautioned men to wake up from their slumber and be watchful and discerning in order to secure the future of their homes, professions, churches, communities and nations, stressing that: “Having a good intention is not enough because the devil is always looking for an opportunity to sow bad seeds in your life.”

Apostle Anane-Denteh urged Christian men not to be reactive to situations but always look ahead and exercise utmost patience, especially when afflicted, and trust that God will surely show up and bring victory.

“No matter the challenges, the Lord will give us the solution to address them. When you find yourself in a difficult marriage, do not take a shortcut by resorting to divorce. Instead, if you remain patient in the presence of the Lord and obey His word, whatever is yours shall return to you regardless of what the devil will do. Men ought to pray and patiently wait for God’s deliverance.”

Apostle Anane Denteh also used the occasion to share with the congregation the four-year strategic vision of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry and urged all men to embrace it and work hard towards the realising the possessing of the nations agenda.
