The Church Of Pentecost Establishes 108 Educational Institutions

The Church of Pentecost has so far made significant strides in the education sector by establishing 108 educational institutions across Ghana, aimed at providing quality education and equipping the youth with practical skills for national development.

This milestone was announced by the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, during his 2024 State of the Church Address (SOCA), delivered at the opening session of the 47th General Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh.

“At the end of December 2024, the Church had established a total of 108 educational institutions—comprising 104 basic schools, three Senior High Schools, and one vocational training institute—all recognised by the Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS) Secretariat,” Apostle Nyamekye disclosed.

To promote reading and enhance critical thinking among pupils, he revealed that PENTSOS collaborated with the International Christian Ministry Ghana, a Christian non-governmental organisation, to launch the School Library Improvement Project. As part of this initiative, eighteen schools received new library books during the reporting year.

Apostle Nyamekye also highlighted the Church’s strengthened partnership with the government to facilitate the adoption and upgrading of the Pentecost Vocational Institute, which will soon be renamed Pentecost Senior High Technical School.

“With support from the Ghana Education Service, we have successfully appointed a general manager for the Church’s educational unit. This represents a significant step in the ongoing restructuring of PENTSOS’s educational operations,” he added.

He concluded by reaffirming the Church’s unwavering commitment to educational advancement, the integration of technology, and innovation as tools to shape a better future for Ghana’s youth.

The State of the Church Address (SOCA) is an annual report presented by the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, typically during the opening session of the General Council Meetings—the highest decision-making body of the Church. Modeled in part after the “State of the Nation” format, SOCA provides a comprehensive overview of the Church’s spiritual, administrative, and social interventions for the previous year.

This year’s General Council Meeting, which officially commenced on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, is being held under the theme: “Unleashed to Live a Life Worthy of Your Calling” (Ephesians 4:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:7; Galatians 1:24).

The Church Of Pentecost Won 432,470 Souls For Christ In 2024

Through sustained and intensified evangelism efforts, The Church of Pentecost led 432,470 individuals to Christ globally last year.

Out of this number, 351,981 new converts joined The Church of Pentecost, while 80,489 opted to fellowship with other Christian denominations—largely due to existing affiliations or geographical proximity. This milestone was achieved through a record 461,844 evangelistic outreaches, marking an 18.3% increase from the 390,545 outreaches conducted in 2023.

The figures were disclosed by Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of the Church, during the 2024 State of the Church Address (SOCA) at the 47th General Council Meeting held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh.

Highlighting the fruit of these efforts, Apostle Nyamekye announced that 245,637 of the souls won—representing 69.8%—were baptised in water, leading to the establishment of new Assemblies and Districts across the globe.

“As of December 2024, the Church had 27,106 Assemblies and 3,183 Districts worldwide. This represents a 2.2% increase in Assemblies and a 4.3% rise in Districts compared to the previous year,” the Chairman reported, attributing the growth to the grace of God and the Church’s missional focus.

While noting that the Church has nearly saturated its territorial reach in Ghana, Apostle Nyamekye underscored the continued urgency of evangelism, both locally and internationally.

“These remarkable successes are a testament to our members’ unwavering commitment to spreading the gospel,” he stated.

Among the many inspiring stories shared, Apostle Nyamekye singled out Elder Godson Boateng of the Offinso Area, who led 1,024 souls—comprising 615 adults and 409 children—to Christ in 2024.

He also applauded the efforts of 12-year-old Miss Beatrice Dzotepe, a Sunday School child in the Avoeme District (Aflao Area), who led 12 children to the Lord during the November One-Member-One-Discipled-Soul initiative. All 12 new converts have been successfully integrated into the Church.

Live The Resurrected Life In Christ Jesus – Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin To Christians web

Live The Resurrected Life In Christ Jesus – Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin To Christians

The Cape Coast Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin, has stated that the resurrected life in Christ Jesus is not merely an annual Easter celebration but rather a daily walk of transformation.

He made this statement during the recently held Easter Convention, organised by the Cape Coast, Aboom, and Nkanfoa districts in Cape Coast.

Focusing on unveiling the depth and significance of living the resurrected life in Christ, Apostle Dr Markin cited Romans 8:2 and Romans 8:9-11 and explained that accepting Christ ushers believers into a brand-new life, a life that was unavailable in the days of Adam but made accessible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This new life, he said, is imparted into the hearts of those who believe through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The Coordinator of the Central Regional Coordinating Committee maintained that to truly understand the Christian faith, one must grasp the reality of the resurrected life. He noted that this life empowers believers to live above sin and walk in righteousness, as led by the Spirit of God.

Apostle Dr Markin further referenced Romans 1:3-4, highlighting that ‘Christ in you’ introduces a spiritual law of life that supersedes physical laws. He explained that those who have been crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20) no longer live under the dominion of the flesh but live a borrowed life, a life sourced from Christ. While physical laws such as the law of gravity can be challenged through scientific experimentation, spiritual laws remain immutable and are not to be broken, he said, warning that violating these laws leads to grave consequences.

Quoting Revelation 4:20, he noted that the Law of Death was activated in the Garden of Eden through Adam and Eve’s disobedience. In contrast, Jesus Christ, through His resurrection, activated the Law of the Spirit, which now governs the lives of those who believe in Him.

He urged believers to reject the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21) and instead bear the fruit of the Spirit as described in Galatians 5:22-24, evidence of a true resurrected life.

In his closing remarks, the immediate past Evangelism Director of the church stressed that anyone who is in Christ is not only hidden in Him but also in God the Father. Such a person, he indicated, lives a divinely borrowed life, protected from destruction.

He, therefore, encouraged believers to desire an intimate knowledge of God and the resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead, and to live lives that reflect the worthiness of the resurrection.

Live Resurrected Life – Apostle Tawiah To Christians web

Live Resurrected Life – Apostle Tawiah To Christians

The Tamale Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle John Budu Kobina Tawiah, has admonished Christians to live a life that reflects the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Speaking during the climax of this year’s Easter Convention for districts within the Tamale Metropolis on the theme, ‘Living The Resurrected Life,’ he opined that the daily live of the Christian can be lived more meaningfully through the resurrected life of Jesus Christ.

According to Apostle Tawiah, believers who are in Christ have also died to sin, hence their lives must reflect the character of Christ. He stated that the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is the Holy Spirit who lives in believers, and that He quickens believers’ mortal bodies and makes them alive for good works (Romans 8:11).

‘With the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we carry God’s power which makes us fearless when we confront evil powers,’ he said.

He indicated that living the resurrected life introduces two things to the believer. The first, he siad, is the power of transformation. This power transforms people from sinful lives to become instruments in God’s hands for good works. Citing the woman of Samaria from John chapter 4, Apostle Tawiah stated that the people in her community saw a changed life, which is why they followed her to see Jesus as she testified about Him.

‘Our resurrected lives will attract people to Christ,’ he stated, adding that no human system can effectively deal with sin except Jesus Christ living in them. He urged believers to back their service to God with their character, something made possible when they empty themselves of their human agenda and follow God’s agenda (Romans 8:12-14).

Apostle Tawiah advised Christians to let people know their identity as Christians wherever they find themselves. He went further to say that people say evil things about the church in Ghana because many Christians are not living the true Christian life.

Reading from Galatians 2:19-20, he mentioned that Christians do not have a righteousness of their own but one conferred on them through Christ – the imputed righteousness (Philippians 3:19-20), which is a direct product of the resurrection. This confers a life of holiness and pure conscience unto the believer.

He explained that the transformation is through an ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works on believers by prompting them when sin enters their lives. It is important to be responsive to such promptings, repent when one is convicted, and go on to repair their relationship with God. According to him, such promptings come through the study and hearing of the word of God and other forms of communication, saying, ‘It is the responsibility of the believer to cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He works on him or her’ (1 John 2:27).

Secondly, he advised that believers should be intentional towards living the resurrected life.

‘As recorded in Colossians 3:1-4, we should think and behave with heaven on our minds. We should make every effort to live as resurrected Christians,’ he said, adding, ‘Let heaven fill your mind and do not be greedy for the things of the world, for you have an integrity to protect as a believer. We should therefore make every effort to reflect our new character as those who have died, been buried, and resurrected with Christ. Sin should not have dominion over us.’ (Romans 6:1-14)

Ending his message, Apostle Tawiah urged Christians to endeavour to live a resurrected and new life to make a difference in their communities. The occasion was graced with the presence of some chiefs and heads of security agencies in the Northern Region.
