Serve God With All Your Possessions – Apostle Johnny Ansah

The National Secretary of The Church of Pentecost in the USA, Apostle Johnny Ansah, has called on all Christians to serve God with all their possessions and gifts.

Drawing inspiration from 1 Chronicles 29:12-14, Apostle Ansah highlighted the example of King David, who, despite being restrained by God from building the temple himself, remained passionate about praising and serving God through his son Solomon.

Apostle Ansah emphasized that everything Christians possess is a blessing from God and that they are merely caretakers and custodians of these blessings.

He reminded the congregation that God is the owner of everything, and their role is to manage these resources faithfully and prudently. This perspective is crucial for understanding stewardship and the responsibility that comes with it.

He underscored that service to God is an act of deep devotion and obedience, which involves using spiritual gifts, talents, skills, homes, time, money, and intellect to further God’s kingdom. This service is not just about helping others but is rooted in profound love for God and commitment to His will. Apostle Ansah called on believers to mobilize and freely give every gift they have, similar to the vision for kingdom growth seen in initiatives like “Vision 2020.”

Apostle Ansah also cautioned against becoming pompous or self-aggrandized due to the possessions and gifts one has. Instead, he urged believers to remain humble and recognize that these blessings come from God and are meant to be used for His service. This humility is essential for maintaining a correct attitude toward possessions and ensuring they do not control us.

He highlighted the rewards of sacrificial service to God, mentioning that serving Him leads to spiritual growth and maturity, divine protection, prosperity, and ultimately, an eternal reward. Despite the challenges that may come with serving the Lord, Apostle Ansah noted that selflessness and sacrifice are at the core of true devotion.

The Church Is Not A Place For Entertaining Pew Warmers – Chairman

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has affirmed that the Church is not intended to be a haven for passive attendees, often referred to as ‘pew warmers.’

Instead, he emphasised, the Church is a hub for nurturing kingdom-minded disciples, who are equipped to serve as transformative agents in every sphere of life.

Apostle Nyamekye made these remarks on November 15, 2024, at the ongoing November Heads’ meeting, while delivering a presentation on the theme: “The Characteristics of the Church Unleashed,” using Matthew 16:18-19 as one of his foundational texts.

He articulated that, much like ancient Israel, the Church has been divinely positioned as an instrument to fulfil God’s ultimate purposes on earth.

“The Church has been chosen and endowed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms to advance God’s mission on earth,” Apostle Nyamekye stated.

He underscored that the Church serves as the conduit through which the manifold wisdom of God is revealed to principalities and powers in the heavenly realms, adding that, there is, the need to harness the vast potential of the Church to effect the needed change in society.

Highlighting the transformative potential of the Church, Apostle Nyamekye noted, “When the talents, gifts, energy, and resources within the Church are unleashed through the power of the Holy Spirit, Christianity will witness exponential growth and a season of unprecedented influence.”

Apostle Nyamekye further identified one of the defining characteristics of an ‘unleashed’ Church as a consistent pattern of teaching aimed at empowering members to impact their environments with acts of righteousness.

He emphasised that teaching is fundamental to shaping beliefs, which, in turn, influence conduct.

“The Word of God has transformative power; it is active, penetrative, and capable of organising our thoughts and attitudes. Teaching is a powerful tool. If we want people to act in a certain way, we must dedicate time to teach them,” he stressed.

He illustrated this point by referencing the early Protestant churches, which implemented a 13-point teaching model to address societal issues of their time. He expressed confidence that if the contemporary Church adopts such focused teachings, it will achieve similar transformative outcomes.

Apostle Nyamekye’s address served as a clarion call for churches to move beyond mere religious routines and become vibrant centres for equipping believers to influence the world with godly principles.

The November Heads’ Prayer Meeting is an annual gathering that brings together ministry directors as well as Area and National Heads of The Church of Pentecost. This significant event on the Church’s calendar serves as a platform for the Chairman to unveil the theme for the upcoming year, and elaborate on the rationale behind it.

This year’s meeting featured a noteworthy addition: the dedication of a newly constructed six-apartment facility designed to house lecturers at the Pentecost School of Theology and Mission (PSTM). This modern facility is situated on the Gomoa Fetteh campus of Pentecost University (PU).

The short dedication ceremony was officiated by the Chairman with support from the ministers present at the meeting.

Wait Upon God Through Fasting & Prayer - Apostle Etrue Admonishes Christians web

Wait Upon God Through Fasting & Prayer – Apostle Etrue Admonishes Christians

The Koforidua Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Mike Etrue, has emphasised the importance of waiting upon God through fasting and prayer as a crucial discipline for Christians across all generations.

Speaking on Thursday, November 15, 2024, at the 2024 Heads and Wives Meeting held at the Pentecost Convention Centre, the Executive Council Member of the Church highlighted that this ancient practice, grounded in biblical teachings, offers a profound way to deepen one’s relationship with God and empower individuals for ministry.

He noted that waiting upon God is not a new concept; it has been a cornerstone of Christian spirituality since the early days of the Church. He pointed out that Jesus Himself frequently secluded Himself to wait on God, illustrating the importance of this practice in His own life.

Apostle Etrue mentioned that the early leaders of The Church of Pentecost were particularly committed to this discipline, incorporating daily, weekly, monthly, and annual practices of waiting on God into their lives. This dedication enabled them to encounter Jesus and experience His power in tangible ways.

He explained that fasting is a vital component of waiting upon God, involving more than just abstaining from food; it also entails focusing on the spiritual and suppressing fleshly desires.

“When paired with prayer, fasting releases God’s supernatural power and helps believers realign their priorities, placing their spiritual lives above physical needs. This practice aids in breaking bad habits, overcoming sin, and receiving direction from the Holy Spirit,” he added.

The Koforidua Area Head stated that waiting on God through fasting and prayer allows leaders and believers to reflect, learn from their mistakes, and seek God’s guidance. He emphasised that it minimizes distractions, replenishes one’s spiritual reservoir, and empowers individuals for ministry. He cited Daniel’s remarkable prayer life as an example of the power of this discipline, which enabled him to receive visions and guidance from God even in challenging times.

To ensure the continuation of this vital practice, he urged church leaders to model and teach it to the next generation. This, he said, could be achieved by organising regular waiting sessions to help members learn and participate.

However, he cautioned that contemporary challenges, such as busy schedules, technological distractions, and complacency, must be addressed.

Regarding the rewards of waiting, Apostle Mike Etrue revealed that by prioritising this spiritual discipline, Christians can experience the profound spiritual delights and empowerment that come from waiting on God, ensuring that this essential practice thrives in future generations.

Be Available and Visible To Influence The Public Sphere – Apostle Dr. Debrah Urges Christians

Apostle Dr. Benjamin Debrah, the Sweden National Head of The Church of Pentecost, has encouraged Christians to stay connected to the world around them to glorify Christ in the public sphere.

During his address on the topic “Living Your Faith in the Public Sphere” on Day 3 of the 2024 Heads’ Fasting and Prayer Meeting being held at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) near Gomoa Fetteh, Apostle Debrah emphasised that every Christian is a citizen of heaven, chosen by God, and has the authority of Christ to represent Him in every aspect of life.

He urged Christians to bridge the gap between Sunday worship and daily life, highlighting that there should be no distinction between how Christians live on Sundays and throughout the week.

“Most of a Christian’s time is spent in the workplace, so opportunities for others to encounter Christ often arise in these settings,” he stated, encouraging Christian leaders to disciple individuals to become influencers in the public sphere.

“When people come to know Jesus Christ, we must intentionally guide them to shape their worldview according to biblical values,” he affirmed. He pointed out that Jesus engaged with the world during His time on earth and made a difference through His actions. He, therefore, urged Christians to allow the presence of Christ within them to manifest in the public arena.

“Do not disconnect from the world around you. Be available and visible when people need help; this may open doors for you to impact their lives. Christians should consistently engage with society and value those involved in public service,” he emphasised.

Apostle Debrah explained that the public sphere encompasses all areas outside of one’s private life, including family interactions, politics, public service, and business.

“Your faith in Jesus Christ should guide how you work and live; as ambassadors of Christ, you cannot separate yourselves from these responsibilities. Timeliness, integrity, and quality should define our work ethic. Let your faith dictate your words and actions,” he advised.

He encouraged Christians to develop deep roots in Christ, cultivating a mindset that fears and desires to please God, which provides the boldness to represent Him well. He outlined spiritual disciplines such as prayer, fasting, waiting, and meditation on the Word of God as essential for building a strong Christian character.

“Studying the Word and living by it is crucial. It is not enough to simply profess your faith; if your actions do not reflect Christ, then your testimony is compromised,” Dr. Debrah stated.

He stressed the importance of respecting everyone, noting that being sensitive and courteous to individuals from various backgrounds makes them more receptive to the message of Christ.

He expressed concern about how some Christians conduct themselves during public events like funerals, birthday parties, and weddings.

“If an event is under your control, bring your godly influence to it. Playing music that is not godly at significant occasions undermines your testimony and increases the Church’s workload in evangelism,” he cautioned.

Additionally, he highlighted the importance of excellence in the workplace, stating that it draws attention and creates influence. He suggested using skills and intellect to showcase the testimony of a worthy life in Christ.

He noted that a heart filled with sincere love and compassion for others, combined with godly wisdom and a willingness to engage, are powerful tools for sharing the gospel in various settings.

“Make the most of every opportunity and share your testimonies. Our influence as Christians must be palpable to impact the public sphere,” Apostle Debrah reinforced.

Revitalize The Local Church - Apostle Alexander Kumi-Larbi To Church Leaders web

Revitalize The Local Church – Apostle Alexander Kumi-Larbi To Church Leaders

The immediate past General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Kumi-Larbi, has emphasized the urgent need to revitalize worship and fellowship within the local church.

He made this statement while speaking on Day 3 (morning session) of the 2024 Heads and Wives Meeting at the Pentecost Convention Centre.

Drawing from Psalm 122:1, Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4:32, and Ephesians 2:9, Apostle Kumi-Larbi, who spoke on “Revitalizing Worship and Fellowship in the Local Assembly,” outlined a comprehensive approach to restoring the vibrancy and purpose of church life.

The former chief scribe stressed that every church, regardless of its current state, needs revitalization to maintain its health and missional energy.

According to him, this process involves positioning the local assemblies of the church as equipping centers where members are thoroughly prepared to impact others.

He revealed that worship, as a lifestyle of daily service to God, should not be confined to a physical temple but should occur wherever believers gather.

Highlighting the importance of fellowship, he mentioned that it builds friendships, unity, and contributes to building God’s Kingdom on Earth.

To achieve this revitalization, Apostle Kumi-Larbi advocated for several key strategies.

He emphasized the importance of mentoring and raising leaders at the local level, ensuring that church leaders are intentional and strategic in their approach.

Regular church attendance and active participation in outreach events are also vital, as they help members become more invested in the church’s health and future.

He also highlighted the value of small groups in fostering deeper fellowship and generosity among church members. By embracing change, rediscovering the mission of the church, and remaining patient throughout every step of the journey, churches can experience transformative renewal.

Proclaim Jesus Christ, The Mighty To Save – Apostle Gyesi-Addo (Rtd.) web

Proclaim Jesus Christ, The Mighty To Save – Apostle Gyesi-Addo (Rtd.)

The immediate past International Missions Director (IMD) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo (rtd.), has fervently tasked all Christians to waste no time in telling the world about Jesus Christ, the mighty to save.

Speaking on the topic “Unleashed to Save the Never-Dying Soul,” one of the thematic topics for the 2025 theme, Apostle Gyesi-Addo emphasized that the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda focuses on the conversion of societies, but that is not possible without the conversion of individuals (souls).

“Converting people, from our perspective, begins with sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. Saving the never-dying soul is in line with our transformation agenda,” he observed.

He pointed out that the name of Jesus Christ is the only name that saves, and this must be urgently proclaimed to a perishing world.

Reading from Mark 8:36-37, Apostle Gyesi-Addo reminded the gathering that power, fame, wealth, and academic accolades do not last, but the soul never dies.

He therefore charged the church to focus its attention on souls.

“Everything perishes, but the soul—so why exchange the soul for perishable things?” he asked rhetorically.

The veteran missionary noted that whether one likes Jesus or dislikes Him, one thing no one can do is ignore Him, because everyone will one day give an account to Him.

“Accepting Jesus Christ today makes Him your solicitor and intercessor, but if rejected, you will appear before Him as your Judge,” he explained.

He emphasized that the soul can only live its true life and achieve its intended purpose if it remains connected to its original source. Unfortunately, humanity lost that connection at the fall.

“The broken link between the soul and its source is restored only in Christ Jesus,” he proclaimed.

He cautioned that local assemblies should not become cults that minister only to themselves and attend to their own needs, forsaking the task of soul-winning.

“The church is called to win souls; that is why in The Church of Pentecost we say ‘souls won’ and not ‘people won,’” Apostle Gyesi-Addo reiterated.

The former IMD stressed that soul-winning should be the task of individuals, just as it is the task of the general church.

“The call to the church to win souls is also a call to the individual to be a soul winner,” he emphasized.

Drawing lessons from Acts 10, Apostle Gyesi-Addo noted that preaching the gospel is a privilege angels are denied. He therefore urged all Christians to go out and work earnestly at saving the never-dying soul.

Live For Eternal Rewards – Apostle Oboubi Charges Christians web

Live For Eternal Rewards – Apostle Oboubi Charges Christians

Apostle Samuel Gyau Oboubi, the General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, has charged Christians, particularly members of the church to live their lives for eternal rewards.

He gave this charge while delivering a sermon on Wednesday, November 12, 2024, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) in Gomoah Fetteh during the November Heads and Wives meeting.

Delivering an exposition on one of the thematic areas under the 2025 theme, “Living for Eternal Rewards,” Apostle Oboubi explained that rewards are blessings or benefits one receives in recognition of good or excellent service, effort, or achievement.

He revealed that, according to scripture, God rewards everything people do, no matter how insignificant they may perceive it.

According to him, there are two kinds of rewards from scripture: one received on earth and another received in the afterlife.

The General Secretary indicated that while earthly rewards are material and can be lost or taken away, eternal rewards are heavenly rewards believers will receive from God due to their faithful work on earth.

He mentioned the promises concerning rewards, such as endurance through pressures in ministry, generous giving, bearing insults, being excluded for the name of Christ, and rendering excellent service to employers.

On rewards, he mentioned the crown of life, the crown of righteousness, the crown of glory, and the crown of rejoicing as the rewards received by those who live for eternal rewards.

To live for eternal rewards, one must obey God’s will, even when it feels risky or uncomfortable, as exemplified by Apostle Paul in Acts 16:21.

This involves avoiding sin and maintaining a pure conscience before God and men, as well as living a life of integrity where actions align with words.

Other characteristics of a person who lives for eternal rewards include faithfulness to God, one’s holy calling, and supporting institutions.

Living selflessly and sacrificially, putting God’s plans above personal desires, is also essential.

Ultimately, a life of service to others, reflecting God’s love and will, is key to honouring Him and seeking eternal rewards.

UNLEASHED TO LIVE A LIFE WORTHY OF YOUR CALLING - THEME FOR 2025 UNVEILED web

“Unleashed To Live A Life Worthy Of Your Calling” — Theme For 2025 Unveiled

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has unveiled the 2025 theme for the Church: “Unleashed to Live a Life Worthy of Your Calling,” taken from Ephesians 4:1, 1 Thessalonians 4:7, and Galatians 1:24.

In explaining the theme, which was unveiled at the 2024 November Head’s Meeting underway at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Apostle Nyamekye emphasised that Christians are God’s special possession with a divine mandate to enact change in the world. He stated that the Church exists to reveal the glory of God to all generations.

Highlighting the continuity of themes aimed at achieving Vision 2028, Chairman Nyamekye noted that the unleashed people of God must lead lives that reflect their calling in the world. He reiterated, “Having been unleashed as a people of God, it is essential to live a life worthy of our calling to transform the world.”

Apostle Nyamekye discussed the urgent need for transformation in various spheres, asserting that individual lives must demonstrate that we are transformed agents of change. He stressed the importance of every Christian understanding their calling, which is not limited to pastoral roles but applies to all Christians.

“The calling we have received is to live a life of holiness amidst a perverse society, reflecting God’s saving grace,” he stated. He emphasised that when the Church meets God’s expectations, societies are transformed. When a church is faithful to its calling, it becomes a healing agency to society and can lead many to Christ,” he remarked.

He explained that the Greek word ‘Ekklesia’ refers to God’s assembly called for a purpose — to glorify His name. Furthermore, he noted that God is glorified when Christians live lives worthy of their divine calling.

Apostle Nyamekye encouraged the church community to avoid defining the Christian life solely by abstaining from vices; instead, they should demonstrate positive qualities such as love, peace, humility, and holiness.

“God’s call does not entail impurity but rather a life of holiness,” he asserted, adding that “the purpose of Christ was to rescue us from the hand of our enemies and to enable us to serve Him without fear in holiness and righteousness all our days” (Luke 1:74-75).

He declared that the Church is destined for holiness, stating, “That is who we are and our calling.” He urged members to be exceptional in everyday situations, emphasising that living a life worthy of our calling should show the world that we have truly known Christ.

“Living a life worthy of your calling means taking your ordinary life and living it generously, radically, expansively, creatively, courageously, and gloriously, so that God will be praised because of you,” he challenged.

Apostle Nyamekye advised against the dilemma of quitting secular jobs for full-time ministry, highlighting that our work and daily activities are part of our Kingdom ministry.

“Do not separate your everyday life from your faith. Your faith should shine through in the ordinary aspects of life for His glory,” he encouraged.

He reminded the congregation that “unleashed servants are not removed from their workplaces but are sent there. Kingdom bearers include market workers, woodworkers, bricklayers, plumbers, shopkeepers, lawyers, nurses, doctors, designers, parents, children, teachers, farmers, and individuals of all ages.”

Chairman Nyamekye shared that several topics have been thoughtfully chosen to align with the theme. These include Living for eternal rewards, Living your faith in the public sphere, Serving God with our possessions, Unleashed to save the never-dying soul, The practice of waiting upon God through fasting and prayer, and Revitalizing worship and fellowship in the local church.

He encouraged church leaders to strive to help the congregation appreciate the theme and live lives that will lead the world to praise God.

“May we declare Christ and make Jesus famous in the world again,” he concluded.

2025 Theme - See Your Professional Work As Full-Time Ministry web

2025 Theme: See Your Professional Work As Full-Time Ministry

The 2025 theme of The Church of Pentecost aims to empower all Christians to view their professional work and workplaces as their full-time ministry.

This theme was unveiled by Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoah.

In his explanation of the theme, “Unleashed to Live a Life Worthy of Your Calling,” Apostle Nyamekye highlighted the importance of overcoming the dilemma many Christians face when feeling compelled to leave their professional jobs to enter full-time church ministry.

He stressed that Christians should approach their professional work with the same dedication and spiritual commitment as they would in full-time church service.

The theme, rooted in Ephesians 4:1, 1 Thessalonians 4:7, and Galatians 1:24, challenges the belief that kingdom work is confined to church activities. Instead, it encourages Christians to recognize their roles in various institutions and industries as opportunities to extend God’s blessings to others.

“The unleashed servants are not stolen from the workplace. They are sent to the workplace,” Apostle Nyamekye stated.

He urged believers to view their daily activities, including work, as part of their spiritual act of worship. “In this era of being unleashed, we need to take our everyday, ordinary life—our sleeping, eating, drinking, work, and all that we do—and place them before God as offerings,” he said.

Apostle Nyamekye underscored that the kingdom is intricately connected with the real world and its diverse professions. “Kingdom carriers are market folks, woodworkers, bricklayers, plumbers, shopkeepers, lawyers, nurses, doctors, designers, parents, children, singles, teachers, farmers, students, pupils, the elderly, the unemployed, and more,” he emphasized.

The 2025 theme calls on Christians to regard their professional and daily lives as essential parts of their ministry, ensuring that God’s grace and blessings flow through them to impact humanity positively.
