Michel Camp PIWC Marks 10th Anniversary In Grand Style

The Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Michel Camp, in the Ashaiman Area of The Church of Pentecost, celebrated its 10th Anniversary in grand style on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

The event was a remarkable occasion that brought together congregants, church leaders, and community members to reflect on a decade of spiritual growth, impactful ministry, and community transformation.

Present at the ceremony were Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi (Ashaiman Area Head and Executive Council Member), Nene Nomoteye Akrofi III (Chief of Nsreho popular known as Kakasunanka), and Lt. Col. Frank Adams (Commanding Officer 1 Infantry Battalion, Michel Camp).

The celebration was marked by a sermon delivered by Apostle Kumi-Larbi titled, ‘A Tool in God’s Hand: Created in Christ for Good Works.’

Drawing from Colossians 3:1-17, Apostle Kumi Larbi urged believers to ‘put off’ unholy behaviours and embrace virtues such as compassion, forgiveness, and love. He encouraged the congregation to see themselves as instruments of God’s purpose, created for good works that glorify Him, stressing the transformative journey of Christians from their old sinful nature to their new identity in Christ.

The event also featured moments of worship, testimonies, and reflections on the church’s journey since its inception. Members expressed gratitude for God’s faithfulness and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the mission of The Church of Pentecost.

PIWC Michel Camp began as the English assembly of the Michel Camp District in January 2008 under the leadership of then District Minister, Pastor Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi (now Apostle). Its first service was held on January 27, 2008, with an initial adult membership of 148. In August 2014, it was upgraded to a Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) when the late Apostle Nene Ahorlu Ofoe Amegatcher was the Area Head for Ashaiman.

Over the years, PIWC Michel Camp has experienced significant growth. By the end of 2024, its membership had grown to 1,534, comprising 1,112 adults and 422 children. The church has also expanded its facilities to include a main auditorium, an Akan assembly chapel (originally built as a children’s auditorium), a children’s auditorium constructed in 2023, a mission house completed in 2014, and other essential facilities such as a baptistry.

Prayer Is Serious Business — Pastor Adubofourh

Pastor Maxwell Adubofourh Asiedu, the Yennyawoso District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has described prayer as a serious business.

Speaking on the topic, “The Church Unleashed Is A Prayerful Church,” during the opening of the New Tafo Area Week Celebration, themed, “Characteristics of the Unleashed Church,” on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Yennyawoso Central Assembly auditorium, he emphasised the diligent nature of prayer, comparing it to business.

Pastor Adubofourh referenced several quotes to highlight the transformative power of prayer, underscoring the necessity for Christians to commit wholeheartedly to it. He noted a significant shift from a mediated relationship with God in the Old Testament regarding prayer to a direct and personal relationship in the New Testament.

“In the New Testament Church, we do not engage in consultations because the Holy Spirit dwells in us, and when we pray, He hears us. Unlike in the Old Testament, where the Spirit of God came upon certain individuals for His work, requiring people to consult them in case of any need,” he remarked.

Reading from 1 Kings 17:1 and 18:42, Pastor Adubofourh elaborated on Elijah’s prayer life, portraying a praying church as a powerful entity saturated with God’s presence. He stated, “God’s presence is evident wherever prayer is made,” urging Christians to maintain a prayerful life to experience His power.

PENSA-Cape Coast Sector Holds 2025 Edition Of ‘Let The Bible Speak Conference’

The Cape Coast Sector of the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) successfully organised the 2025 edition of the ‘Let The Bible Speak Conference’ with a massive turnout of students.

The event took place at the Centenary Auditorium of Adisadel College on Saturday, March 15, 2025, and was attended by 2,362 participants under the theme: ‘Unleashed to Walk the Word’ (Ephesians 4:1, Psalm 119:105).

The conference was led by Pastor Blessing Joseph Quayson, the PENSA Travelling Secretary for the sector.

Apostle Ebenezer Agyapong, the minister in charge of E-church of The Church of Pentecost, spoke on the theme: ‘The Bible’ (1st Tenet of the church) based on 2 Timothy 3:15-17 and 2 Peter 1:20-21. He urged young Christians to believe in the divine inspiration and authority of God’s word, stressing its importance for teaching, rebuking, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

Apostle Agyapong disclosed three key points that demonstrate the Bible’s divine inspiration: its witness to the reader, the fulfillment of prophecies, and its unity despite diverse authorship.

Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin, Coordinator of the Central Regional Coordinating Committee and Cape Coast Area Head, spoke on the topic: ‘Unleashed to Walk the Word,’ drawing from Colossians 2:6-10, 2 Timothy 3:14-17, Romans 15:24, and Joshua 1:8. He pointed out that the Bible is a cohesive constitution that guides believers to live holy lives.

He explained that Jesus left humanity a testament, which is the Bible. He added that for God’s blessings to manifest, Christians must understand and live by its teachings.

Apostle Dr Markin stressed the importance of studying the Bible to strengthen faith and guide decision-making, encouraging daily reading, memorisation, meditation, regular Bible study classes, and application of its teachings.

He concluded his presentation by leading an impartation and spiritual healing prayer session, during which participants were deeply filled with the Holy Spirit.

In attendance were Pastor Samuel Asare (Cape Coast Area Youth Pastor), Mrs. Esther Mansa Annan Quayson (Wife of the Travelling Secretary), Mrs. Mavis Bamfo Oppong (Working Committee), Elder Confidence Koomson (Sector Head), Patrons and Patronesses, School Coordinators, among others.

Faith Assembly Church Building Dedicated web

Faith Assembly Church Building Dedicated

The Winneba Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Daniel Nii Tetteh Tackie, on Friday, March 14, 2025, dedicated the newly constructed Faith Assembly church building in the Lowcost District of the Winneba Area.

The building was one of the strategic church building projects targeted for dedication this year as part of the church’s efforts to boost growth and expansion.

Apostle Tackie was assisted by Pastor Kofi Boateng, the district minister, and other ministers in the Area.

In a sermon on the theme, ‘That Name Will Not Stick,’ taken from Ruth 1:19-20, Apostle Tackie shared the story of Naomi, who, in her distress, said, ‘Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt bitterly with me,’ when she returned to Bethlehem.

He explained that Naomi tried to stick to the name ‘Mara’ because of her history, but that name did not stick because her story had not ended.

Apostle Tackie reminded the congregation that their stories are still unfolding and that like Naomi, whose life changed when Ruth married Boaz, their stories would one day be changed for the better because nothing is too late for the Lord.

He said that members of the Faith Assembly initially faced challenges in finding a place of worship, but the story has changed following the completion of the auditorium.

He described believers as ‘children of God, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God’s own special people,’ citing 1 Peter 2:9 and 1 John 3:1.

He stated: ‘Let them go ahead and try to attach damaging names to us, the church and its leaders. As long as our stories haven’t ended, those names will never stick.’

Apostle Tackie also encouraged the gathering not to underestimate the power of God’s grace in their lives, noting that it is by grace they have been saved. He urged them to continue looking to God for help in all circumstances, maintain a clear conscience without harbouring bitterness, proclaim God’s praises, and uphold their devotional lives as vital to their spiritual well-being.

During the service, Apostle Tackie, on behalf of the Area Executive Committee, donated 80 pieces of plastic chairs to the assembly.

The dedication ceremony was attended by Mrs Abigail Naa Densua Tackie (Area Head’s wife), Nana Okokodurofo Asempakahene Kofi Armah I, Elder J. O. Biney (Area Deacon), and members of the church.

US MEDICAL EXPERTS PARTNER WITH LOCAL TEAMS TO TRAIN KPASSA COMMUNITY IN LIFE-SAVING SKILLS web

U.S. Medical Experts Partner With Local Teams To Train Kpassa Community In Life-Saving Skills

A team of medical professionals from the United States has joined forces with Ghanaian healthcare providers to deliver hands-on medical training to both local practitioners and community members in Kpassa.

The sessions, held on the evenings of Monday, March 10, and Tuesday, March 11, 2025, provided a platform for knowledge exchange, skill enhancement, and collaborative healthcare learning.

The initiative, which formed part of a four-day medical outreach, was a collaborative effort between Main Line Health, Imaghe Group, and Teachers on the Move, in partnership with Pentecost International, PENSA Ghana, and Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS). The training sessions took place at the Mount Olives English Assembly auditorium in Kpassa, bringing together a diverse group of participants, including local healthcare workers, aspiring medical students, and community members eager to improve their medical knowledge.

At the core of the training was a focus on equipping attendees with modern, evidence-based approaches to handling first aid emergencies, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care before being transferred to healthcare facilities. The practical, hands-on sessions covered critical life-saving techniques, emphasising the importance of timely intervention in medical emergencies.

Beyond emergency response training, the program served as an invaluable educational opportunity for young students in the community who aspire to careers in medicine. Through direct engagement with experienced professionals, these students gained firsthand exposure to various healthcare disciplines, inspiring them to pursue their ambitions in the medical field.

Participants also took part in specialised breakout sessions covering key areas of medicine, including Mental Health, Pulmonology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pharmacy, Internal Medicine, and Nursing. These in-depth discussions provided targeted, practical knowledge tailored to both medical professionals and community members, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.

The presence of the U.S. medical team in Kpassa underscores the power of international collaboration in healthcare, bridging the gap between expertise and local needs. By sharing knowledge and resources, both local and international teams contributed to strengthening healthcare delivery in the region.

With the overwhelming success of the training sessions, organisers and participants alike expressed optimism about future collaborations that will continue to empower local medical teams, enhance community healthcare education, and improve access to quality medical care in Kpassa and beyond.

La Area Unleashes First ‘Apollos Project’ Participants

The La Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, on Sunday, March 16, 2025, unleashed 47 youth who have undergone training, assigning them to various assemblies in the area to preach.

They spoke on the topic, ‘Living Your Faith in the Public Square,’ one of the areas of their training.

The 47 youth, drawn from each of the 23 districts in the area, received a 2-day training held on March 1 and 6, 2025, on the rationale of the 2025 theme of the church and other topics such as: ‘Living for Eternal Rewards,’ ‘Living Your Faith in the Public Square,’ ‘The Practice of Waiting on God Through Fasting and Prayers,’ ‘Revitalising Worship and Fellowship,’ ‘Serving God With Your Possessions,’ and ‘The Value of the Never-Dying Soul.’

Explaining the rationale of the novel project during the training, Apostle Dr Nuekpe, who is an Executive Council member of the church, took inspiration from Acts 18:24-28 and stated that, ‘Apollos was trained at the Oxford of his day. He spoke boldly and eloquently, which is typical of the youth, but lacked understanding of the scriptures.’

He continued that, ‘Priscilla and Aquila did not expose Apollos publicly but rather corrected his theology in private.’

Apostle Dr Nuekpe underscored the importance of pastors and their wives in shaping the theology of the youth, saying, ‘There is a need for the youth to also admit the need to be taught and humble themselves to be taught.’

He concluded by saying, ‘Pastors alone cannot accomplish the task of discipleship in all the locals, hence the need to reproduce themselves in the youth to carry out the mandate. Titles are not needed as Apollos didn’t have the title of Apostle, Pastor, or Elder.’

The Apollos Project is an initiative that seeks to sharpen the youth theologically and unleash them to be a blessing to the local church.

SOM Coordinator Tours Schools In Greater Accra, Wins 142 Souls web

SOM Coordinator Tours Schools In Greater Accra, Wins 142 Souls

The Coordinator for the Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM) of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Frank Mensah Tandoh, has concluded a weeklong working tour of some basic schools in the Greater Accra Region.

During his visit, he conducted grassroots leadership training and participated in inter-circuit sports competitions in several areas, including Haatso, Kasoa, Achimota, and Tema.

At the sports event, Pastor Tandoh seized the opportunity to proclaim the word of God to students, resulting in 142 souls won for Christ. As part of the outreach effort, his team distributed bottled and sachet water as well asTeens Daily Devotional guide to the students.

In his exhortation to the students, Pastor Tandoh urged them to strive for excellence in every aspect of life. Drawing on the biblical metaphor of running a race, he encouraged them to work diligently, foster unity, and celebrate one another’s achievements while keeping their focus on seeking eternal rewards through faith in Jesus Christ rather than earthly accolades.

Pastor Tandoh also led a training session for pastors in the visited areas, an event that underscored SOM’s strategic role within the Vision 2028 agenda.

During the first presentation, titled ‘Breaking the C-Code: Raising the New Generation,’ Pastor Tandoh addressed the impact of cultural influences on children. He noted that not all cultural practices align with godly principles and stressed the need to filter these practices carefully. Emphasising that children form the foundation of society, he warned that neglecting their spiritual growth could lead to broader societal issues.

In his second presentation, Pastor Tandoh outlined SOM’s role in reaching basic schools—from Kindergarten to Junior High School (JHS). He explained that although there is no ministry solely dedicated to basic schools, SOM serves as the official evangelistic strategy for this sector.

Citing statistics on teenagers engaging in multiple sexual partnerships, he highlighted the urgent need for biblical guidance. He urged pastors to view schools as extensions of their assemblies by joining weekly morning worship sessions, donating books and uniforms, renovating facilities, and forming partnerships with the church’s traditional ministries.

Pastor Tandoh also announced that SOM is now an independent ministry, no longer operating under the Youth Ministry. He called for the establishment of five-member committees at both district and local levels to oversee SOM activities.

With 43,328 public basic schools now within SOM’s outreach focus, the ministry remains committed to raising a new generation through intentional engagement with young people, aiming for a lasting impact on both the church and society.
