Every aspect of creation points to a source. Rivers flow from springs, trees grow from seeds, and light depends on a power supply. In the same way, human life is not self-sustaining but originates from and is sustained by God. Within The Church of Pentecost, this truth is emphasised as central to understanding purpose and living a fulfilled Christian life.

In contemporary society, marked by technological advancement and increasing knowledge, many people continue to experience a sense of emptiness and lack of direction. This disconnect often stems from a deeper spiritual reality—living apart from God, the true Source of life. While external progress may suggest success, it does not necessarily translate into inner peace or lasting purpose.

Scripture affirms that life is derived from God. Acts 17:28 declares that “in Him we live and move and have our being,” highlighting humanity’s continuous dependence on God. Similarly, Jesus Christ teaches in John 15:5 that He is the vine and believers are the branches, underscoring that true growth and fruitfulness are only possible through a sustained connection with Him. When this connection is weakened or broken, individuals may experience confusion, spiritual dryness, and misdirection, even amid outward achievements.

A meaningful and purposeful life begins with reconnecting to God. Proverbs 3:5–6 encourages believers to trust in the Lord wholeheartedly and acknowledge Him in all their ways, with the assurance that He will direct their paths. This relationship with God extends beyond religious activity; it is a daily, personal walk characterised by dependence, obedience, and fellowship.

Maintaining this connection requires intentional spiritual discipline. Engagement with God’s Word provides guidance and shapes the believer’s thoughts and actions, as affirmed in Matthew 4:4. Prayer serves as a vital means of communication with God, fostering intimacy and alignment with His will, as encouraged in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Obedience to God’s commands further strengthens this relationship, reflecting love and trust in Him, as stated in John 14:15.

Ultimately, a life connected to God is marked by clarity, peace, and purpose. As believers remain rooted in Him through His Word, prayer, and obedience, they experience transformation and direction. The call to remain connected to God is therefore not optional but essential for living a life that truly reflects His intent and fulfils His purpose.
