The Asokwa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Prophet James Osei Amaniampong, has charged health workers in the Asokwa Area of the Church to form a formidable force to possess the nations through their professions.
Prophet Amaniampong who convened the meeting on Thursday, April 11, 2019, said that the overarching theme of the Church’s five-year strategic vision is “Possessing the Nations.”
The health workers assembled included nurses, doctors, pharmacists and dispensing technicians.
According to Prophet Amaniampong, for the possessing the nations’ agenda to be possible then one group that can never be overlooked is health workers. “The reason is that, while other professions like accounting do not directly deal with human lives, the work of health professionals directly affect human lives,” he added.
Prophet Amaniampong however said some Ghanaians have negative perception about health workers due to the attitude of some bad nuts in the health fraternity. He said some nurses are seen as impatient and intolerable, thus making some people dread going to the hospital.
To this end, Prophet Amaniampong charged them to be agents of transformation in the health sector since they represent The Church of Pentecost in their workplaces.
The Asokwa Area Head also encouraged them to be good chaplains by demonstrating the character of God wherever they found themselves.
He concluded by stressing that a lot of importance will be attached to the activities of the group by the Executive Council. He assured them that, a bigger gathering will be organized to officially inaugurate the group at the national level.
Contributing to the discussion, some of the senior health workers praised the leadership of the Church for the initiative. They said that this has come at the right time considering the wealth of specialists The Church of Pentecost has in the medical field. They saw it as a great tool in carrying out medical outreaches with the aim of winning souls and having impact on society. They also encouraged one another to exhibit good Christian values at the respective workplaces instead of hiding their Christian identity.
Dr. Hammond, a pediatrician, encouraged his colleague health workers to pursue further studies and also exhibit excellence at the workplace.
Present at the meeting were some ministers in the Asokwa Area.
