The Ashanti Bekwai Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Apostle Fred Tiakor, held a day’s Area Convention recently, at Bekwai-Amoafo Auditorium, under the theme: “Lord, Equip me for Your Service‟ (Hebrews 13: 20-21).
The convention which had Pastor Samuel Edzii Davidson (Offinso Area Head) as guest speaker was attended by over 2000 members.
Pastor Edzii Davidson gave an exhortation on the topic, “Lord Equip me with the Holy Spirit and Power for Your Service.‟ Reading from John 14:17, 1 Corinthians 4: 20, he said that the Kingdom of God is not in words but moral power; power to live a godly life.
“Once you come into God’s kingdom, you are given authority to live as a citizen of the Kingdom, and that authority is called moral power,” he stated.
The moral power, he explained, makes a believer an excellent person in the presence of God and men, stressing that “the Holy Spirit indwelling the believer gives him or her the DNA of God making him or her do the things Christ Jesus did.”
According to him, the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit equips Christians for service in God’s Kingdom, saying, “The Holy Spirit in the believer gives the believer the moral power to stop drinking alcohol, smoking, and any other works of the flesh” (Galatians 5: 22-23).
Pastor Samuel Edzii Davidson concluded his sermon by saying that the moral power equips the believer to engage in lifestyle evangelism, thereby snatching many from hellfire into God’s glorious Kingdom.
He led the congregation in a prayer session during which seventy-two (72) members were baptized in the Holy Spirit. Also, twenty-three (23) others received healings from all kinds of diseases. Spectacular among them was Sister Rita Smith, a 16-year-old teenager from Manso Adubia, who testified that she was healed of Asthmatic disease.
According to her, hitherto she could neither walk briskly nor run. But after the prayer session, she felt relieved.
Another person, Sister Elizabeth Kyei from Kokofu District, also testified that she had experienced severe waist pains for the past eight (8) years but was miraculously healed during the prayer session to the glory of God.
