The Anyaa-Ablekuma Area of The Church of Pentecost has inaugurated the Pentecost Professional Guilds made up of the various professional groupings in the church.
Among the groups are: Health Workers, the Built Environment, Media and ICT, Banking and Finance, Education, Judicial, Political and Security Workers, Travel and Transport, Fashion Design and Beauticians, Catering and Hospitality, Artisans and Businessmen/Women.
The event, which took place on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at the Ablekuma Central church building, was attended by ministers and their wives in the Area and district and area leaders of the various guilds.
Also present were: the National President of the Built Environment Guild, Elder Dr Daniel Obeng Atuah, the Greater Accra Regional Coordinator for the Health Network, Elder Gabriel T. Accam and the Executive Secretary of the Business Network, Elder David Mills Addoba.
Addressing the gathering, the Area Head, Apostle Samuel Kojo Gakpetor, explained that the rationale behind the formation of the guilds was to mobilise members of the church from all spheres of work to create a platform where they would be mentored to impact their places of work and lead the transformation agenda of the marketplace.
He entreated all members of the church to join the guilds based on their professional background and further charged them to bring the Kingdom values and principles to their workplaces.
To ensure the effective operation of the guilds within the Area, an implementation plan has been developed.
As part of the implementation plan, all local assemblies in the Area are supposed to submit names of their members and their guilds to their district pastors for onward submission to the Area office by August 20; the Area Executive Committee shall develop a code of conduct for the guilds by August 20. Again, the Area Discipleship and Leadership Development Committee shall by August 30 develop a study manual on work ethics to be used for the training of the members of the guilds. All districts are expected to hold their first district meetings of the various guilds by September 21, while November 1 has been marked for Area meetings of the guilds.
Apostle Gakpetor prayed for the leaders of the guilds.
The Pentecost Professional Guilds initiative forms part of the effort to achieve the Church’s Vision 2023 of possessing the nations. The national inauguration was held on June 8, 2019, at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh.
