The Offinso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson, has affirmed that Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross extends beyond forgiveness, ushering in healing as well.
Speaking at the ‘Afram Plains for Christ’ crusade, he referenced 1 Peter 2:24, declaring that Christ carried the sins and ailments of humanity to the cross so they no longer must bear them themselves.
He said this on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, while preaching on the theme: ‘Jesus Christ, The Only Way To Eternal Life’ (John 14:6).
Drawing from 1 Peter 2:24, he stated: ‘Jesus Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.’
Apostle Davidson emphasised that through belief in Jesus Christ, the sins of believers are forgiven and are no longer their burden to carry.
With profound conviction, he stated: ‘If Jesus carried our illness and our sins to the cross, we do not have to carry them any longer.’
He encouraged believers to shun sin to demonstrate their acceptance of the Gospel, saying that if one truly believes that sickness and sin no longer belong to them because of Christ’s sacrifice, they can experience healing—the fulfillment of the promise, ‘By His stripes we are healed’.
Apostle Davidson concluded with a stirring call: ‘If you truly believe that Jesus has borne your sins on the cross, you ought to start doing what you couldn’t do before.’
