The Essam Debiso Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated 25 blood pressure (BP) machines to the Essam Government Hospital and Central Assemblies within the Area to strengthen preventive healthcare and promote early detection of hypertension in its communities.

The donation, made on Friday, February 13, and Saturday, February 14, 2026, saw three BP machines presented to the Essam Government Hospital, while 22 were distributed among all Central Assemblies in the Area.

At a presentation ceremony at the Essam Government Hospital, the Health Director for BIA West, Mr Oxygen Gershion Wullar, received the three machines on behalf of the facility.

Mr Wullar expressed appreciation to The Church of Pentecost for the gesture, describing the donation as timely. He noted that the equipment would enhance the hospital’s capacity to monitor and manage hypertension, which remains a significant health concern in the district.

The Area Head, Apostle Frank Awuah Fordjour, led the Church’s delegation, which included the Area Secretary, Pastor Henry Takyi; Area Workers’ Guild Coordinator, Pastor Gideon Owusu; Area Chaplaincy Coordinator, Pastor Godwin Alloh; Resident Minister of PIWC, Pastor Peter Amuzu-Avorde; and Area Youth Leader, Overseer Isaac Donkor.

Following the donation, the Area, through the Workers’ Guild, organised a practical training session on Saturday, February 14, for Ministers and Presiding Elders of the Central Assemblies.

The District Health Director and his team took participants through the proper use and maintenance of the machines to ensure that they could effectively support basic health screening in their communities.

The donation has already begun yielding results, with 5,021 members having undergone blood pressure screening by the mid-year reporting period. Those requiring further attention were also provided with the necessary guidance.

The initiative forms part of The Church of Pentecost’s commitment to holistic ministry, extending its social interventions beyond spiritual care to address the physical wellbeing of people within its communities.
