The Sawla Area of The Church of Pentecost, has inaugurated three key committees in line with decisions taken at the Church’s 48th General Council Meeting held in April 2026.
The committees—the Intellectual Property and Compliance Committee, the CBCB Task Force, and the Emergency Management Committee—were inaugurated on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the A.B.B. Jirbaline Auditorium.
Addressing members during the inauguration ceremony, the Sawla Area Head, Apostle Frederick Obboh, charged them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, commitment and a strong sense of divine purpose.
Drawing inspiration from Ephesians 2:10, Apostle Obboh encouraged the committee members to see themselves as partners with God in fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to them for the growth and advancement of the Church.
He noted that the work of the committees forms part of the Church’s broader mission and aligns with its Possessing the Nations agenda, which seeks to equip believers to influence every sphere of society with Kingdom values and principles.
Apostle Obboh, therefore, urged the members not to regard their appointments merely as administrative responsibilities, but as opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the transformation of the Church, their communities and the nation for Christ.
The duties and responsibilities of the various committees were subsequently outlined to the members, who accepted their appointments. Following the acceptance, Apostle Obboh, together with ministers and their wives as well as presbyters present, prayed for the newly inaugurated committee members and committed them to God’s guidance and direction.
The brief but significant ceremony formed part of the Area’s End-of-Half-Year Presbytery Meeting and was attended by members of the Area Executive Committee, Mrs Joana Mina Obboh, wife of the Area Head, and representatives from all 27 districts in the Area.
The Emergency Management Committee is chaired by Overseer Samuel Obeng. Other members are Elder Joseph Pourimah, the Area Deacon; Elder Gideon Funotey, representing PENTSOS; Elder Solomon Naagmenebon, representing the Area Counselling Ministry; Elder Agyei Kwadwo Kwakye, representing the Area Youth; Sister Jennifer Owusu, a health worker; and Elder Emmanuel Acheampong, a security officer.
The CBCB Task Force is chaired by Elder Matthew Ta-ara, with Elder Joshua Arajie serving as Secretary. The other members are Elder John Sowietey, Elder Timothy Surbale Olo and Elder Peter Saabom.
The Intellectual Property and Compliance Committee is led by Elder Stephen Ansah, with Elder Alex Mahama Taaza serving as Secretary. The other members are Elder Joseph Sobaar Bawonoma, Elder Luke Kaasaah and Deaconess Grace Aba Etuaful.
The inauguration of the three committees marks a significant step in strengthening structures within the Sawla Area to support the effective implementation of the Church’s policies and programmes.
It is expected that, through God’s guidance, wisdom and grace, the committee members will faithfully discharge their responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the Church’s mission.
