The Wassa Senchem District in Assin Foso Area of The Church of Pentecost has organized a mass marriage service for 21 couples in the district.

The programme, which was the second of its kind in the District, was held under the leadership of the District Minister, Pastor Barnabas K. Nortsu. It took place at the Senchem Central Assembly church building on Saturday, November 2, 2019. The couples comprised twelve (12) Elders, five (5) Deacons and four (4) Brothers. Some of the couples who had undergone customary marriage rites for so many years were overwhelmed with joy to have had the opportunity to dedicate their marriages unto the Lord.

Preaching the sermon, Pastor Matthew Mpaba of Twifo Nyinase District based his message on the theme: “Image of Christ in my New Life.” He took his Bible reading from Colossians 3:10 and Ephesians 4:22-24 and encouraged the married couples to continue to allow Jesus Christ to be at the centre of their lives. He said that God instituted marriage for companionship and assistance so there is the need for couples to let their marriages be joyous and blissful.

Pastor Mpaba also advised married couples to always renew their commitment, respect and love for their partners so that there would be peace and tranquility in the home. “Learn to forgive your partner. Let your marriage life portray the nature of Christ. Remember that, you are an agent of transformation, so let your light shine before all people,” he said.

In a brief comment, Pastor Emmanuel Anane of Assin Manso District who chaired the programme advised couples who have not dedicated their marriages as well as prospective couples, to also consider taking part in a mass marriage ceremony so as to cut down cost.

The couples were each presented a certificate of marriage from the state and The Church of Pentecost to validate their marital union.

Present at the programme were the pastorate in Twifo Zone and their spouses
