More than 500 young women from 13 districts under the Haatso Area of The Church of Pentecost have been equipped with essential skills to strengthen their leadership capacity and prepare them for greater impact in the church, workplace and society.
The participants were drawn from the Virtuous Ladies, the young ladies’ wing of the Women’s Ministry, and attended the 2026 Empowerment Conference held at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC)-Atomic in Accra under the theme, “Empowered to Fulfil My Calling.”
Speaking at the conference, Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) and the Association of Women Accountants Ghana, Deaconess Angela Peasah, urged the young ladies to believe in themselves and embrace failure as part of the growth process.
She stressed that success is a gradual journey and encouraged the participants to take advantage of opportunities to learn, build soft skills, pursue internships, seek mentorship and engage in volunteer activities as they prepare for future leadership roles.
Mrs Peasah, who is also a Board Member of Absa Bank, shared her personal journey and attributed a major turning point in her life to a foundation anchored in salvation, the Word of God and prayer.
The conference focused on five key soft skills: effective communication, leadership, conflict management, emotional intelligence and public speaking.
The sessions were facilitated by experienced professionals, including Mrs Rita Sarpong Asante, Mrs Mary Tobbin Osei, Mrs Salomey Armah, Mrs Ewurafua Boafo and Mrs Emma Adwoa Appiaa Osei-Duah.
Participants were taken through practical strategies for effective communication, purposeful leadership, peaceful conflict resolution, emotional regulation and confident public speaking.
Haatso Area Head, Apostle William Boakye Agyarko, commended the Haatso Area Women’s Ministry and Virtuous Ladies leadership for organising the conference and encouraged the young women to use the skills acquired to “possess the nations” in every sphere of their lives.
The event also featured an awards session, where the immediate past Haatso Area Women’s Ministry executives, led by Deaconess Mrs Charlotte Amegatse, were honoured for their service. The immediate past Virtuous Ladies Lead Coordinator, Deaconess Mrs Mary Tobbin Osei, was also recognised for her role in birthing and nurturing the initiative.
Atomic Hills District emerged as the Most Engaging District and the district with the Highest Participation.
The conference also featured an exhibition showcasing businesses and products owned by some of the participants.
