The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has stated that God has mandated the Church to deliver the kingdoms of the world into the marvellous light of Jesus Christ.
He revealed this on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, when speaking at ‘Maximum Impact ’24 Summit’ organised by the Powerhouse Ministries International, Accra.
Referring to John 3:1, Apostle Nyamekye indicated that the God’s greatest focus is the world. He explained the God demonstrated His extreme love for the world by giving His only begotten Son to be sacrificed for the salvation of the world.
According to him, since God’s focus is the world, the Church should also focus on redeeming and transforming the world for God.
The Chairman mentioned that all activities done in the church are not the end of Christianity but are meant to prepare the Church to step out and transform the world.
Questioning why corruption is still a major challenge facing Ghana even though there are church auditoriums scattered all over the country, he averred that it is so because the Church has not been unleashed into the world to transform it.
He revealed that God has given the Church, which encompasses everyone that has accepted Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour, the power to live a transformed life. He, however, cautioned that the power has not been given to the Church to be kept in church buildings but to go out and set free those who have been made captives by the kingdoms of the world.
The GPCC president lamented that the challenge with Christians in recent times is that they see the Church as a building and limit God’s presence there, saying, ‘It is time Christians recognise that the Church of God is limitless and without boundaries.’
Apostle Eric Nyamekye called on all believers to note that ministry does not only involve pastors and apostles but every single individual who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
