The Evangelism Director of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Kwesi Appiah, has declared that true salvation cannot be found in religious systems, human efforts or spiritual substitutes, but in Jesus Christ alone.
Preaching on the theme, “Only Jesus Can Save,” on the second day of the Kaneshie for Christ Crusade, Apostle Appiah lamented the growing tendency of people to seek security, deliverance and fulfilment from various sources while overlooking the One whom God has provided as the Saviour of the world.
According to him, many people spend their lives moving from one place to another in search of answers, joining groups, consulting spiritual powers and pursuing different paths in the hope of finding peace and salvation. Yet, he stressed, the answer they seek is found only in Jesus Christ.
“Many are running from place to place in search of salvation. Some have joined all kinds of groups in an attempt to find security, while others are worshipping different deities to obtain salvation. But salvation is found in only one person, and that person is Jesus Christ,” he declared.
Drawing from John 3:16, Apostle Appiah explained that God’s greatest expression of love for humanity was the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, so that everyone who believes in Him might have eternal life. He further referenced John 3:36, emphasising that faith in Christ brings life, while rejecting Him leaves one separated from God.
Speaking with conviction, the Evangelism Director underscored that Jesus Christ is the only One appointed by God to save humanity. There is no alternative pathway to salvation, he noted, because God has exalted the name of Jesus above every other name.
“There is no other name given to men that can save them. That name is Jesus,” he affirmed.
To illustrate the transforming power of Christ, Apostle Appiah recounted the story of the lame man at the Beautiful Gate in Acts 3. The man had stretched out his hand expecting financial assistance from Peter and John, but what he received was far greater. In the name of Jesus Christ, he found healing, restoration and a new beginning.
The Evangelism Director described how Peter told the man that he had neither silver nor gold, but would give him what he possessed. Commanding him in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth to rise and walk, Peter and John witnessed a miracle that left the man walking, leaping and praising God in the temple courts.
Apostle Appiah also stated that Jesus is the “cornerstone” spoken of in Scripture, the Stone once rejected but now exalted. He urged believers never to shift Christ from the centre of their faith, lives and witness.
Outlining why Jesus remains humanity’s only hope of salvation, he noted that Christ is the sole mediator between God and mankind, the One who died for the sins of the world, rose triumphantly from the grave and lives forevermore. He added that Jesus demonstrated authority over nature and ultimately gave His life as a ransom for humanity’s redemption.
In a heartfelt call to commitment, he invited all present to embrace Jesus Christ, describing Him as the Saviour who died, rose again and remains alive today.
“Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is the One who can lift you up. He died, He rose again, and He is still living. Therefore, accept Jesus. He alone can save,” he concluded.
