The Church Has Power To Transform The World – General Secretary

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has asserted that God has endowed the Church with so much power to influence every worldview with Kingdom principles and values and transform lives.

According to him, the mandate of the Church is to serve as priests by standing before God and humanity interceding for them, and also live as kings to take dominion of society and make it a better place for all.

The General Secretary said this when addressing ordained officers of the Church in the Begoro zone of the Koforidua Effiduase Area on Friday morning [February 15, 2019] as part of this year’s All Officers’ Retreat and Apostolisation.

Reading from Genesis 12:1-4, Ephesians 2:1-16; 3:7-10, 1 Peter 2:5-9, 1 Corinthians 1:2, Hebrews 4:14-16, 2 Corinthians 10:3-6, among other Scriptures, Apostle Kumi-Larbi explained that Europe was built with Christian principles and values when the Church succeeded in penetrating through their cultures and worldviews and influenced them positively.

He indicated that the Church today can take its rightful place in society and make a great impact if Christians realise that they have a dual responsibility towards God and humanity.

He explained that the Church is not the physical temple where believers go and fellowship, or a group of Christian denominations, but individuals who have been called out and set apart by God, bear the name of Christ and live according to the dictates and principles of God’s word.

The General Secretary noted that, as priests, Christians have an onerous responsibility to stand in the gap and intercede for their children, families, communities and nations in order to bring them to the saving knowledge of Christ. He said the mediating role of Christians by correcting the wrongs of societies make them the salt and light of the world.

He called on Christians to ensure that both their secular and sacred lives are in tandem with the word of God.

He said that, God called Abraham out of his family to be a blessing to his offspring and the world at large, adding that Christians have been called out of the world to serve God and sent back to the world to transform lives.

He indicated that, the Church as an extension of God’s family on earth, is supposed to live by the principles and values of the Kingdom of God on earth to show to the world that there is only one true God to be served.

Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi seized the opportunity to take the officers through the five-year strategic vision document of the Church (Vision 2023) and the Ministerial Handbook which he distributed free copies to all officers in the Area.
