APOSTLE EKUBAN (1)

Suhum Area Ends ‘Direction 2020’

The Suhum Area of The Church of Pentecost has held a four-day power-packed residential retreat for church leaders.

The annual retreat dubbed “Direction 2020” took place from January 8 to 10, 2020, at the Kibi Presbyterian College of Education.

The participants were presiding elders, local secretaries, as well as ministers and their wives in the Area.

In his welcome address, the Area Head, Apostle Anthony Eghan Kwesi Ekuban, commended the participants for their role in contributing to the success of the “Possessing the Nations” agenda of the church.

Apostle Ekuban acknowledged that the yearly residential retreat gives church leaders the opportunity to deepen their relationship with the Lord, saying, “As we prepare to lead a glorious church to possess the nations, this retreat has a wider perspective while it attempts to assist us in our Pentecostal spirituality.”

Speaking on the topic, “A Ministry Under Open Heavens” with Bible text from Ezekiel 1:1-3, Apostle Ekuban posited that those who minister under closed heaven drive people away from the church with their preaching, while those who minister under open heavens draw people closer to God. He urged church leaders to always minister under open heavens.

Concluding his sermon, Apostle Ekuban noted that the most important practice for a Christian is to live according to the dictates of the Holy Spirit.

Among the topics treated at the retreat were: The leader’s integrity, the leaders calling coupled with responsibility, conflict management, church finance and the Lord’s Day in a glorious church.
