An appreciation service has been held for reviewed National Women’s Ministry Executive Committee Members of The Church of Pentecost in Cameroon.
The service took place on Sunday, 15th April, 2018 in Idenau in South-West Cameroon. The reviewed leaders were led by Deaconesses Dorcas Ottu Caesar (the immediate past National Leader who served for 10 years).
Speaking on the topic, “When The Record Books Are Opened,” with reference from Esther 6:1-14; Psalm 7:8-17), the National Head, Apostle J. B. K. Tawiah, urged Christians to endeavour to do good at all times.
Using Mordecai as a case study, he stated that Mordecai became a reference point at the King’s consultative meeting, because he had done some good to the King which had been recorded in the book of the Chronicles (Esther 2:21-23), saying, “That good became the basis for his promotion, even though Haman had planned to hang him.”
Apostle Tawiah encouraged Christian leaders and Christians in general not to get tired of doing good. He also entreated them to endeavour to do good to all people as Paul exhorts in Galatians 6:9-10.
Drawing some useful lessons from the Mordecai story, the Missionary said God knows all actions of His children, whether good or bad, and nothing is hidden from Him. “He [God] recalls these actions from time to time either for our advantage or disadvantage,” he indicated, adding, “Men also observe our actions which they keep in their hearts and the same become reference points at the appropriate time (2 Corinthians 3:1-3).”
He further stated that a man reaps what he sows whether good of bad. “Whilst Mordecai reaped promotion for the good he did, Haman reaped death for his evil deeds,” he stressed.
“Another lesson is that God will bring our actions to remembrance at the right time. Mordecai’s good, though recorded, had remained only in the books, but God caused the King to make reference to it at His own time. This calls for waiting in patience for God to act in His own time,” he said.
Apostle Tawiah asked Christians not to trade their integrity with anything offered by the world. He said Mordecai did not compromise, not even under pressure from Haman.
He indicated that there is an appointed day during which all actions will be brought to light. “We will triumph if we remain faithful to the end,” he said.
Concluding, he assured believers that God will do all their battles for them, but only have to remain faithful and righteous at all times. “Believers need to be content with what they have instead of comparing themselves with others. Mordecai was content with sitting at the King’s gate to the extent that even after he had been honoured, he went back there because his greatness began from there.
“There is no need to wish to be like someone or be in another man’s position; it is God who determines what one becomes at any point in time,” he stated.
The five reviewed leaders were presented with certificates of appreciation and cash in recognition of their services to the Church.
