A new era of evangelism began in The Church of Pentecost on Sunday, September 1, 2024, as Apostle Emmanuel Kwasi Appiah was officially inducted into office as the new Director of the Evangelism Ministry, taking over from the venerable Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin, who has led the evangelism drive of the church for the past eight years with distinction.
The induction service, which took place at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Atomic, Accra, was officiated by the Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, assisted by the General Secretary, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi; the International Missions Director (IMD), Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, and other members of the Executive Council.
Apostle Appiah, who holds a Master of Arts degree in Pentecostal Studies from the Pentecost University, also holds a Certificate in Theology and Missions and a Bachelor of Education in Accounting from the University of Education, Winneba.
Since his calling into the full-time ministry in 2009, Apostle Appiah has served as District Minister for the Akokoaso District from 2010 to 2015 and later at Israel District in Kaneshie Area from 2015 to 2021. Most recently, he was the National Head and Missionary in Burundi, where he served from 2021 till his new calling.
He is married to Mrs Vivian Korsaa Appiah, and they have four children.

At the same event, Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin was farewelled after ending his impactful 8-year tenure as the Evangelism Ministry Director of the church. He is now heading to the Central Region as the Cape Coast Area Head.
Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin who has served over the past eight years as director of the Evangelism Ministry, has been a transformative leader, known for his deep commitment to evangelism, prayer, and intercession, profoundly influencing the church and its outreach efforts.
During his leadership, he implemented innovative evangelism strategies that expanded the ministry’s reach and fostered a culture of prayer and teamwork. His initiatives included the formation of the Gospel Heralds, a group of young evangelists who have significantly contributed to crusades and outreach activities. He also established the Leaders’ Consult, a platform designed to train effective leaders within the ministry.
Under his guidance, the ministry acquired a multi-purpose evangelism mobile truck, streamlining the logistics of evangelistic events. Notable achievements during his tenure include the construction of a storage hub in Nsawam and the appointment of regional representatives to enhance coordination of evangelism activities across the nation.
Apostle Dr Markin’s leadership saw the organisation of several impactful crusades, including the Greater Kumasi for Christ and the much talked about Greater Accra Unleashed Crusade, along with international outreach efforts in countries such as Madagascar, South Africa, Kenya and Togo. His innovative approach also led to the introduction of event outreach programmes at major festivals and sports evangelism initiatives.
The legacy of Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin is marked by thousands of souls saved, healed, and empowered through his ministry.
