Learn to Say No to Ungodliness and Worldly Passions – Apostle Dr. Koduah Urges Youth

The Teshie-Nungua Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Alfred Koduah, has urged all youth to learn to say, “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions.

He made call during this year’s First Area Youth Ministry Joint Service held at the Agnes Boahemaa Gyimah Temple at Nungua on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Speaking on the theme, “Challenges Confronting the Youth Today,” Apostle Dr. Koduah said that, the world has become very complex, and that young persons are faced with a lot of challenges. However, quoting from Titus 2:11, 12, he said, “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say, “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”

The Area Head said membership of the Youth Ministry is mostly made up of generations X, Y, Z and Alpha. These groups of people, he said, are confronted with many challenges such as moral relativism, sexual immorality, worldliness, materialism and general indiscipline. He also added that disobedience to parents, drug abuse, occultism, indecent dressing, corruption, profanity and technological challenges are common in this era. He, therefore, urged all and sundry not to be enticed by any of these ungodly practices.

Apostle Dr. Koduah said the only way young people can stay on the path of purity is by living according to God’s word. He, therefore, encouraged the youth to avoid pleasures that fight against their Christian values and deprive them of reading the Bible and praying.

The event was in line of the Church’s Vision 2023, which seeks to review the operations of the Ministries to reflect the current spiritual and socio-economic needs and aspirations of the people.

The vision document provides that the last week of every month will be devoted as “Ministry Week.” The week will offer a day each to the various ministries for their meetings. The Youth Ministry, which has the Monday for their local level activities, also has the Saturday of the designated Ministry Week for their Area and District activities.

It is expected that through the activities of the Ministries, members will be equipped practically to influence the various spheres of society through evangelism, Christ-like character and service.
