Effiduase District Retires 10 Gallant Officers

A retirement service has been held in the Effiduase District of The Church of Pentecost in Koforidua Effiduase Area in honour of ten officers of the Church who have served for various years.

Each of the retirees was given a citation and certificate of service at the event which took place at the Ebenezer Assembly at Effiduase on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

The ten are Elders Kwabena Baah Boakye, 74, Francis Opoku, 75, and Yaw Koramoah, 65. Others are Deacons James Cruickshank, 84 and George Kwasi Tetteh, 72. The rest are Deaconesses Diana Agyekum, 65, Kate Cruickshank, 73, Comfort Agyeman Sefah, 69, Comfort Konadu, 70, and Emelia Otu, 66.

In a sermon titled, “May The Lord Bless You,” the Koforidua Effiduase Area Head, Apostle Daniel Yeboah Nsaful, quoted from Numbers 6:23-27 and said, “Just as God asked Aaron and the priests to bless the Israelites with specific blessings, so I bless you as an Apostle of God.”

Apostle Nsaful defined blessing as “enjoying total and complete wellbeing.” He said the word “wellbeing” is a word loaded with a lot of goodies such as good health, wealth, security, peace of mind, joy, among others.

“So for someone to tell you that ‘God bless you’ means the person is giving you a big package full of goodies,” he stated.

Apostle Nsaful recounted some of the difficulties that officers of the Church encounter in their work as non-paid officers. He could not help but pronounce the blessings of God on them saying, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

He said the blessing of the Lord is available to those who come into the presence of God, do His work, do His will and give to support His work. He urged all Christians to strive to do good works for the Lord.

Apostle Nsaful paid glowing tribute to the retiring officers and encouraged all officers of the Church to continue the good work they are doing in the Lord’s vineyard.

The profiles of the retiring officers were meticulously read by the Effiduase District Minister, Pastor Emmanuel Osei Agyapong, after which the immediate past National Head of the Church in Nigeria, Apostle Fenning Obiri Yeboah, prayed for them.

Responding on their behalf, Elder Kwabena Baah Boakye thanked God for the opportunity given them to serve in His vineyard and thanked the leadership of the Church for recognising their effort and honouring them.
