Dare To Be Different – General Secretary Challenges Christians

Christians have been challenged to lead exemplary lives in their quest to impact lives and possess the nations for Jesus Christ.

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, said this in a sermon on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at the Ebenezer Assembly in the Effiduase District of the Koforidua Effiduase Area, to climax this year’s Officers’ Retreat and Apostolisation.

Speaking on the topic, “Being an Agent of Transformation” with key Scriptures taken from Romans 1:24-32, Matthew 5:13-16, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 2 Corinthians 5:7, among others, the General Secretary noted that the depravity of man has reached a crescendo as people now invent evil and do all sorts of abominable things.

According to him, it is in this perverse generation that the Lord has called Christians and tasked them to go back to the world and possess the nations by transforming every worldview, thought and behaviour with values, principles, and lifestyles of the Kingdom of God and thereby turn them to Christ.

He called on Christians to rise up and possess the society because darkness (evil) has engulfed the world, saying, “If we want to make a difference in this hopeless world, we must dare to be different.”

He explained that the Holy Spirit has been given to Christians to strengthen them to make the desired difference in the world.

Apostle Kumi-Larbi further said God has made Christians the salt and light of the world to turn destinies around. He said as salt and light of society, believers have been prepared and equipped to be agents of transformation.

As agents of God and salts of the world, he called on Christians to enter into the various spheres of society to impact the people and influence their worldviews.

The General Secretary entreated Christians to be passionate about their services to God and humanity. He said as agents of God on earth, Christians have an onerous responsibility to safeguard the image of Christ in all their dealings, both secular and sacred lives.

He, therefore, charged Christians to change their attitude towards work by ensuring that they do the right thing in their quest to possess the nations.
