A 10-Member Board of Trustees has been inaugurated to oversee The Church of Pentecost Chairman Education Foundation (COPCEF) which has been set up at the Pentecost University College (PUC).
The Chairman of the church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the brainchild of the Foundation, inaugurated the board on December 17, 2019, at a brief ceremony held at the Headquarters, La-Accra.
The Board of Trustees, chaired by Apostle Prof. Peter Ohene Kyei (immediate past Rector of the PUC) with Elder Patrick Danso, a businessman as Deputy Chairman, has the following personalities as members: Pastor Dr Nicholas Darko (Finance and Administration Director, representing the Headquarters), Elder Ebenezer Acheampong, a Civil Servant, Elder Samuel Kankam Boateng, an IT Specialist and Mrs. Hannah Agbozo, a Lawyer.
Other members are: Elder Prof. K. B. Omane-Antwi (Vice-Rector, representing PUC), Mrs. Efua Garbrah-Sarfo, a distinguished personality, Elder Dr Paul Mantey, an Investment Consultant and Apostle Daniel Okyere Walker (PUC Rector, an Ex-Officio Member). The Secretary to the Board is Ms. Doris Aryee (COPCEF Manager).
The Board of Trustees is mandated to provide long term strategic advice on fundraising to the Council of the University through the Rector; raise funds to support the stated objectives and programmes of the University as articulated by the Council of the University; monitor, evaluate and report all fundraising activities undertaken by the Foundation; account to the Council of the University all funds raised and lend their personal support to fundraising initiatives of the University.
Speaking at the ceremony, Apostle Eric Nyamekye congratulated members of the board on their appointment. He pledged his personal support and that of the Executive Council of the church to help the board work to achieve the objective for which the Foundation was set up.
“Be strong and do the work that has been entrusted to your care. The members and leadership of the church are solidly behind you. You can count on our support,” he assured.
Present at the ceremony were General Secretary, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, the Chairperson of the PUC Council, Deaconess Justice Elizabeth Ankomah, and other members of the PUC Council.
