The Women’s Ministry of the Kaneshie Estate Assembly (KEA) of The Church of Pentecost has extended a helping hand to the Christian Rehabilitation Centre located at Bortianor in Accra.
The generous donation, which included toiletries, bags of rice, cleaning equipment, food items, clothing, water, and other essentials, aimed at making a positive impact on the lives of inmates at the rehabilitation centre.
The gesture is in line with the ministry’s annual “A Hand Towards a Life” initiative, reflecting their commitment to giving back to society.
The donation was accompanied by a vibrant float and an outreach programme to engage with the residents at Bortianor.
As part of the visit, the ministry, led by Deaconess Diana Bekoe, the Women’s Ministry Leader, organised a comprehensive health screening exercise for the inmates of the centre. The screening encompassed vital assessments, including sugar levels and blood pressure.
It is worth mentioning that, last year, the Church donated a brand-new refrigerator set and other items to the Gynecology Department of the Kaneshie Polyclinic to enhance their operations.
Speaking in an interview with PENTECOST NEWS, Deaconess Diana Bekoe emphasised that these charitable endeavours align with the broader vision of The Church of Pentecost, which is “Possessing the Nations.”
Elder Patrick Oppong, the North Kaneshie District Evangelism Ministry Leader, also shed light on the rationale behind such benevolent actions, saying that the Church is dedicated to making a positive impact in various spheres of society.
The founder of the Christian Rehabilitation Centre expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Women’s Ministry for their benevolence.
She said that the donation would contribute significantly to the smooth running of the centre and aid in the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals, ultimately empowering them to lead meaningful lives.
The Mampong Area Women’s Ministry and Virtuous Ladies were involved in the post-ABIDEDOES skills training purposely to diversify the career opportunities of the young ladies and allow them to learn new strategies that can enable them keep up with the constantly changing environment.
The training included preparation of brown sugar, after wash, fresh yoghurt, spring rolls, sobolo, some traditional foods, bridal fans and fascinator, and many others. This, according to the Women’s Ministry, will reposition their young ones and strengthen families through food bonding.
During the meeting, Mrs. Mabel Cudjoe Amuzu, spoke on the topic, “Spicing it up” to educate the gathering on how they can enrich their marriage through extraordinary norms of showing affection.
The Area Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Esther Osei Owusu, tasked Virtuous Ladies to be ambitious and take advantage of the skills acquisition training to enhance their confidence for better repositioning.
She disclosed that expanding one’s base of knowledge and skills is more important than ever and it helps to earn respect and admiration.
She further endorsed the skills acquisition program acquired at the maiden edition of the ABIDEDOES Conference and stressed that, it is a life transforming venture if embraced by the ladies.
On her part, the wife of the Area Head, Mrs Beatrice Asare, said the training can provide individuals from low-income families or underprivileged communities with the skills and knowledge needed to secure better-paying jobs and improve their standard of living. She encouraged the ladies to be defined and attach a sense of importance to its practice.
Some of the trainees shared their experience of excitement and assured to invest in it.
Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Atomic, emerged as the overall winners of the inaugural Area Quiz Competition organized by the Virtuous Ladies wing of the Haatso Area Women’s Ministry of the Church.
The quiz, contested by all 11 districts in the area, took place on December 3, 2023, at the James McKeown Temple, Libya Quarters District. It focused on the books of Daniel and Ephesians, as well as Church history and current affairs, with three contestants representing each district.
The competition comprised three parts (Part 1, 2, and 3). Throughout the contest, some districts were eliminated, and three districts—Libya Quarters, Pantang, and PIWC Atomic—advanced to the final round.
In the final round, PIWC Atomic emerged victorious with 23 points, Pantang District secured the second position with 22 points, and Libya Quarters District claimed the third position with 21 points.
Certificates and awards were presented to all contestants for their respective districts. The winners, first runners-up, and second runners-up received gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively, in addition to their prizes.
The competition proved to be highly educational, inspiring, and informative.
Notable figures present at the event included Pastor Paul Komi Adzigbli (Libya Quarters District Minister and Haatso Area Secretary) and his wife, Mrs. Judith Adzigbli, as well as Elder Peter Terkper (Haatso Area Deacon) and Deaconess Charlotte Konadu Amegatcher (Haatso Area Women’s Ministry Leader).
Also in attendance were Deaconess Mary Tobbin Osei (Haatso Area Virtuous Ladies Coordinator) and a cross-section of ministers’ wives, District Women’s Ministry leaders, and District Virtuous Ladies coordinators, among others.

The Dansoman Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost made a significant donation to the Motherly Love Orphanage Home located at Kwabenya in Accra.
The donation included a chest-deep freezer (600Ltrs) to aid food storage in the home, two 43-inch flat-screen television sets, clothing, foodstuff, bags of rice, and sanitary items.
The items were presented during a visit to the Orphanage on Friday, December 1, 2023, observed as National Farmers’ Day.
The Church delegation, comprising Mrs. Rebecca Sey (Wife of the Dansoman Area Head), Deaconess Priscilla Ekpale (Area Women’s Ministry Leader), and the Executive Committee members of the ministry, was led by Apostle Daniel K. Sey (Area Head).
The team also included Elder Samuel Ansong (Area Deacon), and his wife, Deaconess Dr. Georgina Ansong, a cross-section of ministers’ wives in the Area, and some District Women’s Ministry leaders.
They were warmly received by the proprietor of the home, Rev. Azumah, and some of the inmates (children) of the Orphanage.
During an interaction with the delegation, Rev. Azumah gave a brief overview of the history and operations of the Orphanage, mainly consisting of the working staff and the children.
The children, visibly excited by the visit, took turns introducing themselves to the team, after which they thrilled their guests with some Children’s Ministry action songs.
In a brief word of encouragement, Apostle Daniel Sey advised the children to cherish the love in Jesus, saying, “If there’s no love for you anywhere, there’s one for you in Jesus.”
Apostle Sey, contrasting the love shown by the world and that of our Lord Jesus Christ, revealed that the love of Jesus is not selective but for all who may have been rejected elsewhere and look like castaways.
In his concluding remarks, the Dansoman Area Head charged them to stay connected to the vision and mission of the Orphanage, read their Bibles, pray daily, and show the love of Christ to their peers, all under the divine covering of the Lord.
Apostle Sey led the team in prayer for the staff and inmates of the home; then, he presented the items to the Orphanage on behalf of the delegation.
Receiving the items, the proprietor of the home thanked the Dansoman Area Women’s Ministry for benevolently considering them among the numerous orphanages in Accra.
Speaking to PENTECOST NEWS, Deaconess Priscilla Ekpale said, “The day, which was a celebration of Ghanaian Farmers, also doubled as World AIDS Day and seemed to be the best time to reach out, particularly to children in an orphanage home whose lives mainly depended on donations made by individuals, groups, and corporate organisations.”
She was, therefore, very hopeful that the donation would go a long way to aid the upkeep of the children at the Orphanage.
The Yendi Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost organised its maiden skills training and personal development programme, dubbed “ABEDENARS Conference,” from November 16 to 18, 2023, at the Yendi Central Assembly church auditorium.
The three-day residential retreat was under the theme: “Repositioning Ladies with Skills Set, for Maximum Impact in the Local Church” (Titus 2:7-8, Prov 31:13) and was targeted at virtuous ladies aged 13 to 35.
The programme was modeled after the ABIDEDOES Conference organised earlier this year by the ministry at the national level.
The highly successful maiden conference drew over 300 women from the thirty-two districts of the Area.
Participants were taken through liquid and bar soap making, brown sugar, body powder preparation, and wig cap fixing.
Some of the personal development and social growth topics treated include Manners and Etiquettes, Having a Winning Attitude, and Handling Courtship and Dating in a Godly Way.
Additionally, a medical doctor took participants through mental health and breast cancer education.
Participants were also taken through financial management training to educate them on simple bookkeeping skills.
The resource persons who took participants through the several training sessions were Pastor John Essah (Area Youth Ministry Leader), Deaconess Patricia Aggor (Area Women’s Ministry Leader), Deaconess Sarah Adomako Bonsu (Assistant Leader), Mrs. Getrude Napari, Dr. Harvoh, and Elder Morgan Aggor (Area Deacon).

The Akotokyir District Women’s Ministry in the Cape Coast Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated items worth GHS 8,000.00 to the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital.
The donation was made on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, during a visit to the hospital.
The women’s delegation was led by Mrs. Eunice Mensah (Wife of the Akotokyir District Minister), Mrs. Eunice Akonnor (Wife of the PENSA-UCC Campus Pastor), and Deaconess Mrs. Rita Mbir Bryant (District Women’s Ministry Leader).
During the visit, the team prayed with the patients and presented the items to officials of the facility.
The items were received by Grace Korkor Tetteh (Ag. Deputy Chief Nursing Officer I/C and Senior Midwifery Officer), and some senior nursing officers, namely, Judith Akpetey, Sarah Obuobi, and Biney Ampah Gifty.
Also in attendance were the Women’s Ministry leaders of the local assemblies.
The Church of Pentecost on Monday, October 23, 2023, presented huge relief items worth several thousands of Ghana cedis to support flood victims at Mepe and Battor and adjoining communities in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region affected by the spillage of the Akosombo Dam.
Led by the church’s Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the General Secretary, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, and other senior ministers and officials, a truckload of relief items was presented to the displaced people.
The items included several bags of rice, gari, sachet water, sugar, mattresses, blankets, cooking oil, soaps, toilet rolls, mosquito nets, beverages, sanitary pads, and many more.
Addressing some victims at the Battor Central Assembly of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Nyamekye assured them of the church’s support in these difficult moments.
Describing the whole incident as a national disaster, Apostle Nyamekye thanked God for securing the lives of the people, as no casualty has been recorded so far.
Quoting from Ecclesiastics 9:12 (Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them), the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) National President encouraged the people to remain strong and rely on God, since He can turn their unfortunate situation into something good.
“Sometimes we don’t really know what will happen to us tomorrow. Let us strengthen ourselves and look into the future, which is very bright. The flood has come, and we can do nothing about it. Our houses and livelihoods have all been submerged. We can only cry to God to bring relief and a better future,” he said.
He added: “The world and its entirety is temporal. Life and its entirety is short, so situations and events that happen on Earth are temporary. Yesterday, it was COVID, but today it’s no more. Today, it’s flooding, but tomorrow, floods will be no more.
“So we have come today to manage this temporary situation. We cannot close our eyes on you because it affects the entire church when something happens to the people. Together, we can manage this flood situation and get out of it stronger,” he indicated.
Apostle Eric Nyamekye thanked the Volta Regional Coordinating Committee (Volta RCC) of the church, led by the Ho Area Head, Apostle Dr Dela Quampah, and the Sogakope Area Head, Pastor Godwin Coffie Adzahlie, and other Area Heads and pastors in the region for effectively managing the situation.
Upon further assessing the impact of the disaster, the Chairman promised to bring the victims an additional 100 bags of rice and other relief items.
At the same time, the Women’s Ministry Director, Mrs Philomina Mireku, who was part of the delegation, hinted that her ministry was mobilising relief items across the country to alleviate the victims’ plights.
The General Secretary, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, said the coming of the church’s leadership to the affected communities showed the church has love for the people and was concerned about their plights.
According to the Sogakope Area Head, Pastor Godwin Coffie Adzahlie, many church buildings, mission houses, residences of church members, farmlands, and livelihoods have been affected by the floods. At the same time, thousands have been displaced and sheltered in temporal structures.
Later, the Volta RCC Coordinator, Apostle Dr Dela Quampah, and the Sogakope Area Head, Pastor Adzahlie, led the General Secretary, Apostle Obuobi, and his team, riding on a boat, to visit some of the affected places, including the Mepe District Mission House and Central Assembly church buildings which were all submerged in water.
Apostle Gyau Obuobi called on the chief of Mepe and his traditional council to commiserate with them. He also interacted with the North Tongu District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Osborn K. Divine Fenu, at the District Assembly.
The Director of the Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Deaconess Philomina Mireku, and her deputy, Deaconess Vivian Amfo, paid a working visit to the Ho Area of the church from October 9-11, 2023. Their arrival was met with a warm and grand reception organised by the Anum-Asikuma Zone of the Area at Anum-Asikuma Central Assembly Auditorium on Monday, October 9, 2023.
In her opening address, the Women’s Ministry Director reminded all women that the vision of the ministry was to contribute substantially to the Church’s Vision 2023 by equipping all women and ladies within the church to exemplify Christ-like character, engage in evangelism, and provide dedicated service.
Stressing the importance of repositioning the ministry, she stated the need to assess past efforts to bring people to Christ. She underscored the urgency of repositioning, characterising it as a wake-up call. Deaconess Mireku asserted that achieving favourable outcomes would necessitate a complete departure from outdated methods and processes. She thus emphasised the importance of character development as a critical aspect to focus on to realise Vision 2028.
Later on Tuesday, the director and her deputy met with all ministers’ wives, deaconesses, wives of officers, district and local Women’s Ministry executives. She emphasised the importance of collaboration in moving the ministry and the church forward.
She also met with all the women in the districts within the Ho Municipality in the evening. Delivering the sermon with reference to Romans 12:18, Deaconess Philomina Mireku asserted that Christian women were expected to positively influence their communities, starting with their own homes, local markets, and social circles. She, however, lamented that sometimes, the behaviour of one woman towards another could lead to people backsliding in their faith. She, therefore, called on women to embody a Christ-like character, believing that such a transformation would encourage the return of backsliders and bring new life to many marriages.
The Ho Area Head and Executive Council Member of the church, Apostle Dr Dela Quampah, expressed his excitement and appreciation to the leadership of the Women’s Ministry for the historic visit.
On the last day of their visit, the team met with all the women in the Kpetoe Zone, which comprises Kpetoe, Ziope, Akpokope and Adaklu Waya districts, at Kpetoe Central Chapel.
Speaking at the event, Deaconess Vivian Amfo, the Deputy Director, encouraged the women to be steadfast in prayer and be exemplary mothers, wives, and daughters just like the “Proverbs 31 Woman.”
She encouraged the young ladies to eschew laziness and immoral behaviour to achieve the purpose of God for their lives. She also encouraged parents and the church to invest in the development of the girlchild by paying attention to their personal devotions, conduct, dressing and commitment to church activities.
The Women’s Ministry Director and her deputy were accompanied by Mrs Comfort Quampah, the wife of the Ho Area Head and National Executive Committee (NEC) member of the Women’s Ministry; Deaconess Fidelia Ametefe (Area Leader) and the entire Area Executive Committee members, throughout their visitations to the various zones in the area. The Ho Area pastorate was also present to grace the occasions, which was a delight to the National Director.
The visit of Deaconess Philomina Mireku and Deaconess Vivian Amfo to the Ho Area of The Church of Pentecost was a significant event that stirred the hearts of all in attendance, inspiring a renewed commitment to reposition the local church and empower Christian women to make a lasting impact on the nation.
The District Women’s Ministry of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Tesano, in collaboration with the Schools Outreach Ministry, has donated textbooks, sanitary towels, toiletries and stationaries, worth GHS40,000.00 to the Tesano Cluster of Schools as part of the celebration of the International Day of the Girl-Child.
This year’s celebration was on the theme, “Invest in Girls’ Right: Our Leadership, Our Well-being.”
The Women’s Ministry thanked Elder Michael Nyarko of the Nii Okaiman District of the church and CEO of Mikels Grace Company Ltd., who collaborated with the ministry to donate the items to the students.
Mrs Grace Eghan (wife of the Resident Minister of PIWC Tesano), the District Women’s Ministry leadership, Schools Outreach Ministry leaders and some church members were present at the outreach.
In celebrating and observing the Day, all female students in the Junior High School department were engaged and educated on personal care and breast cancer, empowered with the word of God, and encouraged to uphold godly values wherever they may find themselves.
The Nursery, Kindergarten, and Primary pupils were also given textbooks and other stationery.
The heads of the schools and the entire teaching staff who were very much involved in the programme were so enthused by the gesture by the church.
The Women’s Ministry leadership expressed gratitude to God for the impact and marvellous things He has done through the ministry.
The Barekese District Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has presented sanitary towels, exercise books, and pens to over 350 students at Barekese Methodist Junior High School in commemoration of this year’s International Day of the Girl Child.
Speaking at the brief presentation ceremony with Philippians 4:13 as her scripture reference, Mrs. Grace Kyei Boate, wife of the District Minister, encouraged the young girls to believe that they can do all things and become all things through Christ.
She, therefore, urged them to strive to be the best in their societies.
Mrs. Boate also advised the students to turn to God to discover their life’s purpose and strive to always do the right thing.
Receiving the items on behalf of the students, the Headmistress of the school was full of praise to God for the surprise visit by the Women’s Ministry.
She thanked the Church on behalf of the students and called for more of such support.
The event had in attendance the leadership and some members of the District Women’s Ministry.
