Apostle Nyamekye Joins CFCI To Celebrate Presiding Bishop’s 70th Birthday

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, joined the Christian Faith Church International (CFCI) in Takoradi on Sunday, December 15, 2024, to celebrate the 70th birthday anniversary of their leader, Bishop Emmanuel Botwey. This day also marked Bishop Botwey’s 40th year in active ministry.

Preaching the sermon, Apostle Nyamekye emphasised the significance of life as God’s most precious gift, urging believers to value it above all material possessions. Speaking on the topic, ‘Life for a Prize,’ he highlighted the grace of longevity, noting that living beyond 70 years is a rare blessing. Citing global statistics, he pointed out that 24% of the world’s population is under 14 years, 66% are between 16 and 64 years, and only 8% are above 65 years.

‘Living beyond 70 is truly a blessing,’ he remarked, adding that life itself is the most precious asset anyone can possess. Without it, he said, one ceases to be part of the living.

‘The best thing God can do for us is to give us life and long life. Let us live in a way that will make God grant us this gift,’ he added.

Referencing Jeremiah Chapter 45, which tells the story of Baruch, a man troubled by the conflicts resulting from his association with the prophet Jeremiah, Apostle Nyamekye explained that believers often become disillusioned by the troubles they face.

He defined ‘prize’ as a reward for victory or superiority, stating that while humans chase material rewards, God’s ultimate prize for His children is life itself. Apostle Nyamekye urged Christians to guard two critical things – life and their name. He highlighted that while life is a gift from God, individuals also have a responsibility to care for it through their actions and choices.

He advised Christians not to worry about tomorrow, quoting Matthew 6:25. Worry, he explained, is a tormenting and unproductive thought process that brings no solutions.

‘The God who created us knows the load our necks can carry. Worrying is not planning; it is negative thinking,’ he revealed.

Apostle Nyamekye encouraged Christians to commit their cares to God and adopt a ‘day-tight’ approach to life.

Citing Deuteronomy 27:22 to illustrate how even God works ‘little by little,’ he stated: ‘Each day comes with its own challenges.’

He concluded by reminding Christians to trust God, plan wisely, and prioritise their spiritual and physical well-being, saying, ‘Life is the ultimate prize, and how we live it reflects our gratitude to God.’

The event brought together various dignitaries, including government officials, traditional rulers, and other church leaders. Notable among them were Apostle Sylvester Arhin (Takoradi Area Head) and Apostle ADP James Tetteh (Sekondi Area Head).

Balance Your Professionalism With Spirituality – Chairman Nyamekye Advises Workers

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has called on Christian workers to embody both spirituality and professionalism in all their dealings.

‘Approach your jobs as kingdom assignments, executed to bring glory to God,’ he said.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Spiritual, Yet Highly Professional – The Case of Daniel,’ with scripture references from Daniel 5:11 and 2 Chronicles 16:9, Apostle Nyamekye explained that God seeks not only people who serve Him within the church but also those who excel in their roles in the broader society.

He urged Christians to see their professions as opportunities to advance God’s agenda on earth, noting that their work should be done with excellence as if under God’s watchful eye.

He said this at the climax of the 2024 Headquarters Management and Staff Retreat/Retirement Service held at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh.

Defining professionalism, Apostle Nyamekye described a professional as someone whose work requires a high level of education, training, and dedication. He emphasised that true professionalism is characterised by taking responsibility for one’s behaviour and working effectively with others.

Using Daniel as an example, he noted that Daniel was not only a skilled professional but also a deeply spiritual individual.

‘According to Daniel 1:19-21, Daniel’s intelligence and competence enabled him to serve in the corridors of kings, while his unwavering faith set him apart as a servant of God,’ he revealed.

Apostle Nyamekye pointed out that Daniel’s faithfulness somehow earned him enemies, as his integrity often stood in the way of others’ corrupt practices.

Citing Daniel 5:11-17, where Daniel’s professionalism and spirituality shone through when he interpreted the writing on the wall for King Belshazzar.

‘Daniel was not just a professional; he was highly spiritual, and this combination made him invaluable to the kingdom,’ Apostle Nyamekye remarked.

He called on Christians to emulate Daniel by striving for excellence in their professional fields while maintaining a strong spiritual foundation.

‘Let us all be highly professional and spiritual,’ he concluded, encouraging believers to be faithful in their work, knowing that their actions reflect their faith and glorify God.

Be Carriers Of The Holy Spirit – Apostle Obuobi Charges Staff web

Be Carriers Of The Holy Spirit – Apostle Obuobi Charges Staff

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has urged employees of the church to be carriers of the Holy Spirit in their personal and professional lives.

He said this during the opening session of the 2024 Management & Staff Retreat held at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Spirit, Not Wine’ (Ephesians 5:18, Ephesians 5:15), Apostle Obuobi advised Christians to submit themselves to the complete infilling of the Holy Spirit in order to uphold the values and principles of God’s Kingdom and live worthy of their calling.

Highlighting the promise of God’s Spirit, he indicated that according to Joel 2:28-29, God declared: ‘In the last days, I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh.’ Apostle Obuobi explained that the term ‘pour’ does not mean ‘throw away,’ but signifies an intentional, abundant, and limitless outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all people who fear and revere God.

The General Secretary admonished Christians not to be drunk with wine, as Ephesians 5:18 warns, but rather to be filled with the Holy Spirit. He stressed that while wine represents external control and destructive influence, the Holy Spirit offers godly influence, empowerment, and guidance.

‘God does not expect us to come under the control of wine or any external force. Instead, He desires that we come under the influence and control of the Holy Spirit,’ he stressed.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit, he noted, is not a one-time event but a daily experience. He encouraged the staff to seek continual renewal and saturation by the Spirit in every aspect of their lives.

‘To be filled with the Spirit is a day-to-day affair. We must open our hearts to His influence and allow Him to guide us continually,’ he stated.

Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi concluded by reminding the staff and management of their divine mandate as stewards of God’s work, saying, ‘Be worthy stewards of your calling by relying on the Holy Spirit as your strength.’

He, therefore, encouraged all believers to embrace the outpouring of the Holy Spirit without measure, as promised in the Scriptures, to empower their service to God and humanity.
